"Hello? May I ask who this is?"

A strange male voice came from the other end of the phone.

Kazuma Kudo blurted out, "I'm Kaito Kuroba. And you?"

Kuroba Toichi on the other end of the phone was silent for a moment before slowly speaking: "You're Yusaku's son, right? Kazuma, is that right? Yusaku said you have something to say to me?"

Kudo Kazuma scoffed, "It's not anything nice. I'm just saying whatever comes to mind. If you really think my words are offensive, you can go and settle the score with your brother."

Kuroba Toichi: "..."

Yusaku did indeed say that his youngest son's mouth was a bit infuriating.

But it wasn't said to be this infuriating...

What's even more infuriating is that this kid didn't hold back at all, and started talking to himself, asking questions that were really bothering him.

"I want to know something. Since you even have a cell phone, you should be able to see newspaper reports, right? You should also be able to see the news about the SKJ865 flight from Haneda Airport to Hakodate that crashed but successfully made an emergency landing at sea, right? And you should know that Kaito Kid stepped forward to take the captain's position and save the day, right?"

Before Kuroba could speak, Kudo Kazuma asked again, "Have you ever thought about what you would do if we hadn't been able to cooperate successfully, and if something had gone wrong and caused the plane to crash, resulting in the death of Kaito Kid and your son in that plane crash?"

"He's different from us. If he hadn't been trying to become a phantom thief like Kid, stealing jewels to attract that organization and investigate your ridiculous death, he wouldn't have needed to get on that plane, and he wouldn't have had to go through this near-death experience."

"Even putting aside this plane crash, he was previously targeted by an assassin codenamed Scrooge. If it weren't for his good fortune, you would be dead by now! If it weren't for you, he wouldn't need to operate under the name of Phantom Thief Kid. With his skills, he could just steal and run. How could Scrooge find him? Are you kidding me?"

Kudo Kazuma, with an aggressive demeanor, sneered: "Uncle Toichi, I think you should know more about this than I do, right?"

On the other end of the phone, Kuroba Toichi let out a long sigh, and said with a wry smile, "That's certainly not a pleasant thing to say..."

"But Kazuma, this is Kaito's own choice. Seeing him grow like this, as his father, I am indeed very worried about him, but I am also gratified by it. Just like you and Shinichi..."

"Stop talking nonsense!" Kudo Kazuma wasn't buying it at all. "Are you kidding me? Are you sure this was your son's own choice?"

“I chose to stay with the organization, and my brother chose to stay in Tokyo. Those were our own choices, choices we made knowing our situation and understanding our own goals! What about Touzi?”

"He chose to act in a high-profile manner as Phantom Thief Kid because he discovered that you were Phantom Thief Kid, and that you were even at odds with some mysterious organization under that identity. He chose to do this without even getting a single piece of information about that organization. Is this really his choice?"

"He investigated your so-called cause of death, mainly because he found something suspicious about it. Are you sure you're dead?"

Kudo Kazuma grew increasingly angry, and his words became more and more impolite: "You don't need to compare me and my brother with your son! The trouble we're in isn't caused by our own parents!"

"If one day he's seriously injured or even dies as the Phantom Thief Kid, and then finds you alive and well, how do you think he'll feel? What will you do then? Die on the spot to show him that all his effort and time wasn't wasted?"

There was a long silence on the other end of the phone.

Kuroba Toichi was indeed angered by what Kudo Kazuma said.

But these questions from the younger generation left him unable to give a reasonable response.

Perhaps it was because Kudo Kazuma's emotions were too real, he unconsciously imagined what would happen if Kaito had asked those questions, or if that child had been standing right in front of him.

Even though he knew that Kaito wasn't like Kazuma, he still had mixed feelings.

Because he knew he couldn't respond, he remained silent.

Kazuma Kudo didn't expect to hear a response from Toichi Kuroba—his response should have been given to Kaito Kuroba.

He frowned, and finally said something less harsh: "If you trust him, you should tell him everything; if you don't trust him, you shouldn't drag him into this. Since Kaito is already in danger, shouldn't he at least know the extent of the danger he's facing?"

"Of course, these are all my own thoughts. I don't know what Kaito thinks. After all... in his world, his father is long gone."

After finishing his sentence, Kudo Kazuma hung up the phone immediately.

To be honest, after giving Douzi's even more unreliable father a good scolding, he felt much better.

Hopefully, Kuroba Touichi will take the initiative and tell Douzi the truth himself. Otherwise, if Douzi encounters danger again, he might exaggerate and say bad things about this uncle.

After spraying his uncle, Kudo Kazuma took a shower and went to sleep feeling refreshed.

At 10 a.m. the next day, Kudo Kazuma got up on time, washed up, and went to the Mouri Detective Agency.

Surprisingly, Kogoro Mouri had just woken up, and he didn't look too well. Clearly, this guy had drunk too much last night.

On the way to Osaka by Shinkansen, Conan leaned close to Kazuma Kudo and whispered with a hint of gossip, "Did you call Uncle Toichi last night?"

Kazuma Kudo raised an eyebrow.

Conan sighed: "Mom called early this morning and said that Uncle Daoyi, who rarely contacts Dad, called Dad and talked for a long time. I don't know what they talked about."

Kudo Kazuma disagreed: "If he doesn't explain things to his son, what can he say to his father? I think it's pointless to say anything."

Upon hearing this, Conan's eyes widened in surprise: "Maybe it's because you said something really awful last night, and Uncle Daoyi is complaining to Dad..."

“The truth is hard to hear, and if he doesn’t like it, he can just not do something so unreliable.” Kudo Kazuma said, glancing at his older brother. “Still gossiping here? You should call Hattori and ask him where we should find him when we get there. Didn’t he say there’s a kendo competition?”

Conan sighed, somewhat speechless.

His younger brother was always the type to side with his relatives regardless of right or wrong, and besides, Kaito Kuroba was both a relative and in the right to him this time, no wonder he scolded his uncle for his cousin's sake...

While secretly complaining, he couldn't help but think of himself.

If Ran hadn't discovered his transformation the first time, he definitely would have chosen to keep it a secret.

that……

His younger brother is his younger brother; surely he wouldn't be so harsh on him for Xiaolan's sake?

No way?
