"He didn't kill him."

Once outside, Gin immediately stated his conclusion, drawing everyone's attention.

"There was a pool of blood in the machine room, which was clearly the primary murder scene. The blood had dried, proving that the murder occurred at least three hours earlier."

"There were signs of binding on the body's wrists and whip marks on its body, indicating that the murderer had interrogated the victim before killing him. Detective Mori has been out for less than half an hour, so there's no time for that."

Conan watched Gin analyze the situation, feeling a mix of emotions.

Although he hadn't had time to look for clues yet, Gin's analysis was clear, logical, and well-founded. Apart from his strange word choice, he was really suited to be a detective.

Watching his silver hair reflect a soft glow in the early morning light, Conan couldn't help but think—if this guy isn't a criminal, he'd probably be a very reliable teammate, right?

The first guard to capture Kogoro Mouri was indignant: "But when I heard the noise and came after him, he was lying unconscious near Hamada's body. If he didn't kill him, who else could have?"

"Have you ever seen a murderer kill someone and then just faint on the spot instead of running away? At the time, you were the only one at the scene besides the two of them. I would have said that you killed the victim and then knocked out Detective Mori to frame him!"

Kudo Kazuma couldn't help but roll his eyes. Gin had made himself perfectly clear, yet these idiots still dared to argue.

"It wasn't me!" The guard was speechless. "Then maybe...maybe Hamada knocked him unconscious in a last-ditch effort?"

Gin walked up behind Kogoro Mouri, who was still being held captive, examined the back of his head carefully, and sneered, "The injury is on the back of the head. He was obviously knocked unconscious from behind with a blunt object."

Conan suddenly grimaced—and the back of his head involuntarily started to hurt. That Gin, he really is still that despicable criminal!

That despicable organization! That despicable Gin!

"But..." The guard wanted to say something, but Gin suddenly grabbed him by the neck and lifted him up.

"The corpse was stabbed in the throat in this position. Do you want to try and see if you can hit me in the back of the head in this position?"

The guard was lifted up by Gin, and his breathing gradually became difficult. His hands instinctively reached out to pry Gin's hands away.

Kudo Kazuma tilted his head and explained to the others with a sincere expression: "Look, this is the normal reaction when a person's throat is attacked. How could you possibly attack the back of someone's head?"

"Mr. Kurosawa," Ran said quickly when she saw that the guard was almost out of breath, "your brother can put him down now."

Kudo Kazuma first glanced down at Conan, whose brows were furrowed, before looking up at Gin.

Gin snorted and tossed the guard aside.

Then someone asked, "If the murderer wasn't Detective Mouri, then who killed Hamada?"

"Yes, yes... there wouldn't be anyone like that on the island! Although everyone wants to find gold nuggets, no one would kill someone!"

"Ah! I know! It must be that outsider! Uehara Yasuo, the one who disembarked between Mr. Mori and these two!"

"Yes, yes! That's him!"

Actually, some of them did suspect Gin or Kudo Kazuma, but after Gin's incident, no one dared to mention them.

As they were talking, the group decided to go to the inn to capture Uehara Yasuo, but Kinoshita Goro stopped them.

"Please wait a moment, everyone. We've only confirmed that Mr. Mori isn't the murderer, but we don't have any evidence to prove that Mr. Uehara is. Why don't you all stay outside and let me go in and investigate?"

"If he is the murderer, we should all work together to catch him. If he is not the murderer, we won't have wrongly accused an innocent person. What do you think?"

Except for Gin, who looked disdainful, everyone else agreed with him, and Kinoshita Goro went into the inn.

Five minutes later, a gunshot rang out from the room, and everyone outside rushed inside.

Inside the room, Kinoshita Goro clutched his left arm tightly, making muffled grunts.

"I tried to persuade him to turn himself in, but he suddenly shot me and then jumped out of the window and ran away..."

The guard ran to the window and saw Yasuo Uehara's fleeing figure. He immediately called for everyone to give chase.

Gin sneered, "Putting aside the fact that the wound is practically nonexistent, there are black scorch marks on the clothes where you were shot. You shot yourself, didn't you?"

Conan's face darkened upon hearing this.

Gin is indeed very reliable when he's a teammate.

Although he was wrong to assume others were wrong from the start with the utmost malice, his deductions seemed to be correct.

Judging from the wound on Kinoshita Goro's arm, it was clearly shot right next to the muzzle of the gun—if it was Uehara Yasuo who shot him, at such close range, how could it only result in a graze?

Feeling guilty after what Gin said, Kinoshita Goro coughed and said, "That guy was probably too flustered when he fired that shot. He could miss even at such close range... My injury is nothing serious. I can just go to the clinic myself."

After saying that, he got up and went to the clinic on the island.

Ran accompanied Kogoro Mouri, who was injured a second time, back to the next room to rest, so only Conan, Gin, and Kazuma Kudo remained.

Conan thought for a moment, then looked up and asked, "Kurosawa-nii, where is that navy cave? Didn't you say you could take me there?"

Kudo Kazuma feigned ignorance: "Shall we go now?"

Conan nodded: "Yeah, I think if that bad guy wants to hide, the safest place would be the naval cave that even the villagers are afraid to go into, right? Anyway, he's an outsider, so he wouldn't mind..."

Kudo Kazuma nodded: "That makes sense. Come on, I'll take you with me."

As he spoke, he turned to Gin and asked, "Big brother, are you coming too?"

Gin nodded and took the lead.

Conan followed behind the two, and couldn't help but start to calculate: what were the chances of him killing the two organization members by pricking one with a tranquilizer dart and then kicking the other with a roadside stone?

As he was pondering this, he suddenly noticed that "Kurosawa Hidden" who was walking ahead had fallen a few steps behind and grabbed his hand.

"Little Conan, your short legs are too slow. And your older brother is really something, not even waiting for us. Come on, I'll pull you along, we can walk faster..."

That being said, he showed no intention of slowing down.

Conan was being held by the hand, so he couldn't make any small movements. Instead, he had to quickly move his short legs to keep up.

[Damn it! If it weren't for that darn pill, I wouldn't be in this state now!]

[That despicable organization! That despicable Gin!]

Outside the naval cave, the island's guards made excuses and none of them dared to go in.

Gin, who was passing by, snorted and strode inside.

Conan, dragged along by Kazuma Kudo, had no choice but to desperately wriggle his short legs into the cave.

"See, I told you, this is just a shallow cave, there's nothing here."

Kudo Kazuma shrugged, and then sarcastically remarked to those outside the cave who dared not come in, "Of course there's nothing supernatural about it. Those who are afraid to come in probably have something to hide."

"No..." Conan stretched out his little hand, "There's a breeze... there should be another way out... Ah, haha, don't you think so, Kurosawa-nii-san?"

Kudo Kazuma secretly rolled his eyes.

Could this acting be any worse?

Why go through all that trouble to play a child who can't even act well?

Why not just play a precocious and intelligent child?

Look at Gin, the eldest brother, who knows exactly where the secret passage is, yet acts completely nonchalant when he goes to "find another way out"; and then look at Conan, the younger brother, with his childish, high-pitched smile...

This is the gap!
