"At least we can exchange it for some silver to help Fu Bao get a wife," an old voice said.

Xie Qingyu woke up in bed, and there was an unpleasant smell coming from the blanket, making her want to vomit.

"If this girl survives, we can definitely exchange her for silver. If she doesn't, we can go to her house and cause a scene, making them pay us back." This calculating voice came from another man at the door.

Xie Qingyu opened her eyes, but could not see anything clearly, only a faint light.

Judging from their voices and their conversation, the girl they were talking about seemed to be referring to her.

Xie Qingyu wanted to hear what they had to say, but unfortunately her body wouldn't cooperate and she couldn't help coughing.

Hearing the sound, the two looked over.

Seeing that Xie Qingyu had already opened her eyes, he didn't pay much attention to what he was saying.

"It was Er Ya who pushed you into the water, right?"

Xie Qingyu hadn't had time to process the memories yet, and nodded based on the little bit of information she had just learned.

“Alright, I’ll go to their house right now. This Er Ya is no good. She took advantage of your blindness and pushed you into the water. If there hadn’t been someone nearby, you would be dead. She’ll have to compensate me half a tael of silver, no, a tael!” the man said.

After he finished speaking, he shouted outside, "Mother, come quickly and bring this girl with you. We're going to settle accounts with them."

"Don't worry, I'm here." The voice calling for his mother came from afar, "I just checked, and Fu Bao needs at least one tael of silver to get married. We'll ask them for two taels of silver then."

"Can they give it to me?" The man was somewhat unsure of his mother's bold claim.

"Just ask for it, or you'll have to give me half."

"You're still the best, Mother," the man said happily.

"Let's go!" the elderly voice said.

"Hey, come on, Dad, Mom."

Xie Qingyu was pulled off the bed by a pair of rough hands, almost dragged to the ground. "Come on, follow me."

"I should have known better than to change your clothes; you should have been in an even worse state."

Xie Qingyu knew she was referring to the clothes she was wearing. If she woke up wearing wet clothes, it would be a real ordeal.

These three people clearly had experience in being shameless.

Xie Qingyu was pulled along by the old woman and followed behind them, listening to them talk about how they would ask for money at Er Ya's house, and how they would act like scoundrels if they didn't get it.

While she was at it, Xie Qingyu was also receiving the memories transmitted by the system.

Before I could even think things through, we arrived at our destination.

Xie Qingyu only knows that she can't see anything now, and she doesn't know if it's innate or acquired.

It's probably innate, because these people are clearly used to her being blind, and it's definitely not something she couldn't see during this incident.

Before Xie Qingyu could sort out her thoughts, the old woman had already released her.

Without anyone to guide her, Xie Qingyu could only see a faint light and stood still, unsure of where to go.

However, the old woman probably wasn't leaving anymore; she had already arrived at her destination.

Along the way, they were followed by quite a few people.

They should all be from the same village.

Xie Qingyu is blind, but her hearing is more sensitive. She can sense that there are quite a few people following behind, probably to watch the excitement.

The old woman released Xie Qingyu's hand and sat down on the ground. "Oh my god, is there no justice in this world? How could you be so cruel as to push my granddaughter into the water? She couldn't even see it. If it weren't for that kind person passing by, I don't know if my granddaughter would still be alive. Your daughter is so ruthless and vicious."

"What nonsense are you spouting, you old hag? Don't make baseless accusations and spew filth!" An old woman immediately came out from inside, her voice even more robust; this was probably Er Ya's grandmother.

"You've come out just in time! Look at this! Your granddaughter pushed my granddaughter into the water, trying to kill her. My granddaughter has already spent a lot of money just to call the barefoot doctor. You'd better pay up!"

The man chimed in, "My elder brother and sister-in-law worked so hard to make a living outside, and then this misfortune befell them. They went through so much trouble to send their only daughter back to us to raise. We spoil her rotten and never let her do any work. Who knew she would run into someone as vicious as you, Er Ya? If anything were to happen to her, how would we face my brother and sister-in-law in the afterlife? If your family doesn't give us an explanation today, I'm definitely not going to accept it!"

The more the man spoke, the louder the jeers from the surrounding crowd became.

Then someone else spoke up for them, saying, "We saw with our own eyes that your Er Ya pushed the person down, Granny Ma, you can't deny it. Granny Xie didn't wrong you."

"Er Ya, Er Ya, come here. Tell me, are you not going to push people down? Don't worry, I definitely won't let anyone wrong you. I'll fight anyone who wrongs you!" Granny Ma shouted into the courtyard in a loud voice.

She called out for a long time, but no one came out of the courtyard.

"Er Ya! Er Ya!" Granny Ma called out several more times, but still no one answered.

Her expression changed; she knew something was wrong.

Her granddaughter was usually very timid and would cry at the slightest sound, so she was certain that it wasn't her granddaughter who pushed Xie Qingyu into the river.

But the fact that Er Ya, who was at home, didn't come out despite her shouting so many times speaks volumes.

"Look, she doesn't even dare to come out. With so many witnesses, how could I possibly wrong her? You have to give me an explanation for what happened today. My granddaughter is so delicate and frail that she can't even see. She definitely can't have any conflict with Er Ya. Your granddaughter is vicious and wants to take someone's life." Granny Xie immediately slapped a huge accusation on her.

Grandma Ma has several granddaughters who are all of marriageable age. If she were to be labeled like this, how could she find them husbands?

“That’s not something you can decide!” Granny Ma said, then turned to her daughter-in-law behind her and said, “What are you standing there for? Hurry up and wake Er Ya up, tell her not to sleep.”

Who knew that Granny Ma's words were just an excuse? In broad daylight, how could she possibly let her granddaughter sleep?

At this point, everyone was just waiting to see her make a fool of herself, and no one exposed her.

Xie Qingyu had learned about her origins from their conversation and understood why, despite being from a village, her hands were delicate and without any calluses.

Granny Xie pointed at Xie Qingyu behind her and said, "Look at my granddaughter's pale face. It's all your granddaughter's fault. What a vicious heart she has."

Granny Xie spoke in a drawn-out voice, like someone singing in an opera, with a sound that sounded like wailing.

Anyone who didn't know better would think she genuinely felt sorry for Xie Qingyu.

Even the man who had initially said he wanted to sell Xie Qingyu spoke up for his mother, saying, "I've failed my deceased brother by not taking good care of my niece!"
