Berserk: The Prophet

Chapter 47 Capturing Borg

Green spurred his horse toward the big tree, and seeing that things were not going well, Pog abandoned the game of hide-and-seek and swiftly hurled his javelin at Green again.

"Oh!"

The terrifying force shattered the small practice shield, forcing Green to bend over and charge forward with his lance. As expected of Vanscare's pirate leader, Bog was already firing a second javelin straight at Green in the blink of an eye.

This time there was no way to avoid it. The rate of fire was so fast, and my agility was far from sufficient. I could only try to twist to the left as much as possible.

"Ugh!!" [Received 43 points of damage]

Grimm grunted as he took the spear head-on. The spear pierced through his abdomen, rendering the lance's charge attack useless. Grimm spurred his horse, slamming it into the ground and throwing his lance aside. He then drew his two-handed greatsword from his back, turned his horse around, and slashed down with it.

Pog was injured and trampled by a horse, and it took him a while to get up. Just as he was about to draw the sword from his waist, the two-handed sword of the child whose side had been pierced by a spear appeared in front of him.

"Ugh..." Borg was completely defeated this time.

[The Vanskerry War Chief, Bog, has been stunned, gaining 910 experience points.]

Upon hearing the system notification, Green finally breathed a sigh of relief, turned his horse around again, and painfully pulled the spear from his waist.

"Ugh!!!"

Green was sweating profusely, feeling nauseous from the pain, and his head was spinning. He tore off the little cloth he had left to press against his wound, and when he heard footsteps behind him, he turned around and saw Ali.

Green breathed a sigh of relief, lay down, and pressed his forehead against Old Ma's neck. If there had been anyone else there, he would have been dead today.

"Tie him up, Ali."

Smelling the blood in the air, Ali glanced at Green and quickly stripped Borg of his equipment, placing it on the horse's back. He then used whatever materials he had on hand to weave a sturdy rope, binding Borg tightly before hoisting him onto his shoulder.

Ali could see the wound on Green's waist and abdomen and the bloody spear on the ground at a glance.

It's truly remarkable that a child who is several years younger than you can defeat a strong adult man who is many times stronger than you.

After a long while, Green slowly straightened up. This kind of near-death pain was truly unbearable, a hundred times more intense than the pain in the Trial Realm, and far more deadly than Kadi's military knife. It seems that Kadi really did hold back.

The two slowly made their way into the city. If they could rest in the tavern for two days, even the most fatal wounds would heal. It would be best if they weren't teleported here in the next couple of days; they didn't want to experience that kind of pain a second time.

…………

"Tread" "Tread"

A troop of cavalry found their way to the vicinity.

"Haven't you caught their leader yet?" The leading knight, Barkley, frowned. If they couldn't capture the leader of this group of Vanscares, they would soon return.

"Captain! There's blood here!"

One of the knights discovered the bloodstains from the previous battle, and upon closer inspection, the leading knight realized it was the same knight leader that Grimm had encountered before.

The lead knight dismounted and examined the dried bloodstains on the spear and the hoofprints on the ground, with some blue fabric scattered nearby.

The hoofprints are those of an old horse; the depth of the hoofprints suggests that the rider was not an adult. There is also a human footprint nearby, made of blue cloth.

The leading knight smiled slightly. He recognized the child; he had seen him following the troops before. He just didn't know if the bloodstains on the javelin belonged to the child.

"I think I know which little rascal did it..."

......

Tavern.

Perhaps due to his injuries, Green hadn't yet switched back to God's perspective when he returned to the tavern. He had no choice but to take advantage of Ali's absence to put his armor back into his spatial storage and bandage his wounds with strips of cloth from his clothes. However, his robe now looked unwearable, and the armor was already damaged. What terrifying force!

After the wound was bandaged, time could finally be skipped; two days at the tavern would be enough to fully recover.

Two days passed peacefully until one morning, a series of orderly footsteps came from the stairs and knocked on Green's door.

Opening his eyes and looking at the tavern's ceiling, Green got up and rubbed his eyes. Because there had been no ransom broker for the past two days, Borg had been tied to a pillar in the room, his mouth stuffed with a rag, which was very frustrating.

"No no no!"

However, the people in the tavern all looked at him with disdain after they learned that he was a pirate from Vanscaree.

"Who?"

"Is this Wardemar, the vice-principal of the Barkley Imperial Knights, Grimm's room?"

Green recognized the voice; he glanced at the person outside the door, shirtless, and found him somewhat familiar.

"You are...the knight from that day?"

"It's me. Open the door. I heard from the townspeople that you captured a Vanskellian?"

"Of course!" Seeing this, Green wisely opened the door, since there were several tall and burly men inside, making the tavern's small wooden door practically useless.

As soon as the door opened, several men around Wardemar rushed to Borg, removed the rag from Borg's mouth, and pinched his chin to examine him closely.

"Damn it, don't touch me with your filthy hands!!" As soon as his mouth was freed, Bog immediately started cursing at the knights, looking like a fierce demon.

“It is indeed Bog, one of the leaders of the Vanscaree ‘Three Fingers’ War, Captain,” reported one of Wardemar’s knights.

Wardemar looked at Green with an expression of no surprise. The young boy was still bandaged, but despite his injury, he was still able to stand up straight and speak to them, a group of imposing knights, with neither arrogance nor servility. He was truly a rare talent with both inner and outer qualities.

"I never imagined you would be so extraordinary at such a young age. Would you be interested in becoming my servant?"

"team leader?!"

The knight squire seems quite nice, but it's too boring. Green wants to go out into the world and find some fun, even though the mysterious man never lets him go anywhere else.

"Thank you for your kindness, but I still prefer to act alone."

Green pretended to hesitate for a moment, after all, the mysterious man would be very anxious if he couldn't find him.

"You little brat, you really don't know what's good for you, our captain..." The knight next to him looked somewhat indignant; even his own child didn't have such permission.

Wardemar raised his hand to stop him from continuing the conversation.

"...What a strange child. But it's alright. You can come to the Knights' Guild to find me anytime you change your mind. We're taking this person with us."

"...Alright, Sir Knight, how much is the bounty?" Green leaned against the doorframe, thinking that if he wanted to take his spoils with him, he had to leave something behind.

"Tsk." The knight next to him looked at Grimm with some dissatisfaction. Of course, those of noble birth did not understand the views of the lower classes on money.

“Ha, of course! His Majesty the King already put out their bounty. It’s your share, so be careful not to get robbed.” Wardemar handed Green a small box of dinars, whispering a warning in Green’s ear before patting him on the shoulder.

"Of course! Thank you very much, General Wardemar."

Green took the box and weighed the dinars inside. This small box of dinars actually weighed about ten pounds, probably as much as 6000 dinars. He never expected that a pirate captain he captured so casually would be so valuable. Green was overjoyed.

This injury was worth it!
