NBA's King of Talking

Jia Fei will be matched up against Terrence Ross.

Terrence Ross was the 8th overall pick in this year's draft. He graduated from the University of Washington, is 201cm tall, weighs 89kg, and is 21 years old.

Jia Fei was of similar build to him, but his frame was obviously larger, so he looked thinner when the two stood together.

Jia Fei remembered that his deepest impression of Terrence Ross in his previous life was that he won the dunk contest. He didn't have any other particularly deep impressions. He was just a thin wing player who was strong on offense but weak on defense.

The score was 15-16 at this point, with the home team, the Thunder, leading by one point. With the first quarter almost over, the two teams had only scored a combined 31 points. Their offensive stagnation was so severe it was almost putting the home fans to sleep.

It's often said that "offense wins box office, defense wins championships," and there's definitely some truth to that. Most fans still prefer watching offense. Of course, a game with excellent offense and defense is the best choice, but if forced to choose between a drawn-out game and a high-scoring game, most people would still choose the high-scoring game—at least it's more exciting to watch!

The Raptors are on offense. Calderon gets the ball and gestures around the top of the key, seemingly directing traffic.

Calderon has mediocre physical attributes and is not particularly handsome, but he is indeed a very competent backup point guard. His assist-to-turnover ratio is very high; he may not be a passing maestro, but he is certainly not a turnover generator.

Terrence Ross is on the weak side, ready to receive the ball and attack.

Amir Johnson looked in the direction of the voice and saw it was Gai Ta's Jia Fei. His heart skipped a beat. He had actually become a victim of this kid's hand. How shameful!

Jeff Van Gundy touched his mirror-like shiny forehead, nodded, and said, "I didn't see it clearly either!"

The Raptors inbounded the ball from the baseline, and Calderon passed it to Amir Johnson, who was aggressively positioning himself inside.

Amir Johnson isn't tall and doesn't have a great jumping ability, but he has excellent close-range skills and a solid build. When he dribbles past Collison one-on-one, the latter struggles to keep up!

Amir Johnson got deep into the paint, faked a move and then went up for a layup—but Jia Fei, who came out from the side, slammed the ball against the backboard!

Even worse, Jia Fei's hand seemed to have a suction force, directly plucked the ball, and then deliberately waved it in front of Amir Johnson!

Amir Johnson panicked and reached for the ball, but it hit Jia Fei squarely in the arm!

The "snap" sound was exceptionally crisp, and all the players present heard it.

The referee heard it and promptly issued a personal foul to Amir Johnson!

Cheers erupted immediately. The previous match had been too boring, so they needed some entertainment to keep the fans from dozing off.

“I didn’t foul!” Amir Johnson continued to plead.

Jia Fei stretched out his forearm, which was already red with a clear handprint. He looked at Thabit and said, "Senior, is this a bear's paw print?"

Thabeet was clearly unaware of Jia Fei's tactics. He rubbed his large head: "A bear's paws should be even bigger!" He felt his brain's CPU wasn't working properly; he felt his knowledge was still too limited. Just how big are a bear's paws? He had no idea. You only realize how little you know when you need it. Amir Johnson was utterly shocked. He felt like he was being played by these two guys. One was pretending to be clueless, and the other, this big oaf, was probably genuinely confused. And this marginalized guy, number 3, was even making veiled accusations, implying that he was a coward? WTF!

With his foul count reached, Jia Fei was about to go to the free throw line.

Mike Brin said, "That was definitely a foul!"

Jeff Van Gundy agreed, saying, "Through slow-motion replay, the ball hit Jia Fei's forearm."

Jia Fei stepped to the free-throw line. This was the first time he had stepped to the free-throw line in a regular season game this season. He took a deep breath and released the free throw—and it went in cleanly!

This is his first point of the season!

The penalty was added, making the score 15-18.

Calderon dribbled the ball across half-court and continued to direct traffic at the top of the arc.

Lucas III cuts out to receive the ball and then passes it to Terrence Ross on the weak side!

Terrence Ross received the ball and faced Jia Fei, posing a triple threat, but the opponent didn't react!

Terrence Ross made a strong breakthrough after receiving the ball, attempting to get past Jia Fei with a crossover step, but the opponent was not shaken off at all! Moreover, the opponent continued to physically challenge him, squeezing out his offensive space!

Terrence Ross panicked, changed direction to gather the ball, and then opted for a forced jump shot!
