Upon hearing this, Su Muwei was shocked and immediately realized her current predicament. She had actually been reduced to being a furnace for ghosts!

"mean!"

"Heh, compared to being despicable, I've never won against your parents, so don't belittle yourself."

"Despicable! Shameless!" Su Muwei cursed, but after she finished, she realized that she had no other skills besides cursing.

Bei Mingmo remained calm, his indifferent expression concealing a furious rage. How dare this woman insult him! He would punish her severely! He suddenly grabbed her neck and lifted her up. Her legs dangled in the air, her face flushed red, her breathing became increasingly difficult, her vision blurred, and she almost fainted.

"Ah...you...you let...let me go..." she gasped for breath, desperately pounding on him with both hands.

"Let you go? Aren't you very capable?" Bei Mingmo narrowed his long, phoenix-shaped eyes and looked at her coldly.

Su Muwei struggled incessantly, but to no avail. This man is truly insane!

"What will it take for you to let me go..." She was almost suffocating and had passed out. A picture flashed in her mind—he was choking her and killing her. Wouldn't she be free forever then?

"Beg me..." he whispered softly in her ear.

Su Muwei coughed incessantly, violently, as if her throat was blocked with cotton. She wanted to speak, but no sound came out. Her lungs were running low on oxygen, and gradually, her eyelids felt heavy; she longed to drift off to sleep.

"You...uh...you...let...let me go..." she screamed with all her might.

"Tell me... how you want to beg me..." His voice lowered a few decibels.

"Let...let me go...I..." She felt her chest was full of oxygen, but she couldn't make a sound. Her eyes widened and bulged out, as if they were about to fall out of their sockets.

"Beg me!" Bei Mingmo tightened his grip.

Su Muwei's eyeballs ruptured, and two lines of blood trickled down from the corners of her eyes.

Bei Mingmo released her grip, and she slid down onto the cold floor. She clutched her neck, coughing violently, gasping for breath, her eyes filled with hatred as she glared at him maliciously, her hoarse voice rang out, "Don't expect me to beg you."

"Oh, really?" Bei Mingmo squatted down, slowly and deliberately touching her belly, and said gently with a smile, "Stay obediently by my side, and I will make sure you live a comfortable and carefree life." His tone was like that of a wolf in sheep's clothing, sending chills down one's spine.

Su Muwei's stomach cramped with pain. She clutched her abdomen, trembling uncontrollably. Tears streamed down her face. She didn't want to die! She didn't want to become a vessel for death! She wanted revenge! She absolutely could not give in!

Bei Mingmo noticed her unusual behavior and frowned as he looked at her. "You've been crying? What's wrong?"

"You...you bullied...me...waaaah..." She could no longer hold back and burst into tears. She didn't want to be used as a furnace. She was still young, and there were still many wonderful days waiting for her.

Bei Mingmo frowned. He had only meant to scare her, but this woman actually cried. He had really underestimated her!

"Don't cry. I promise you, as long as you behave, I promise I will treat you well and won't touch you. If you want to get married, I will find you a good husband who will definitely not wrong you, okay?"

"I don't want to get married! I don't want to get married... I hate getting married..." She was still crying, her tears soaking her temples, making her look particularly pitiful.

The more she cried, the more pitiful and heartbroken she became, the more agitated Bei Mingmo became.

"Stop crying!" he roared.

Seeing that he was truly angry, Su Muwei cried even harder.

Bei Mingmo kicked over a teacup on the table and shouted angrily, "Shut up!"

Su Muwei immediately fell silent, shrinking into the corner and trembling, not daring to utter a sound, but tears still fell down her face.

The more she acted like this, the angrier Bei Mingmo became. In all these years, no one had ever dared to cry in front of him!

He ignored this feeling; he never cared about women's feelings. But tonight, seeing her cry, he actually felt annoyed! He hated women crying in front of him because their tears tainted him! He hated women putting on airs in front of him.

"Get out!" he uttered menacingly.

"Ah..." Su Muwei was stunned. She had been imprisoned for so long, and had just escaped his clutches, and now he was telling her to get lost?

"What do you mean, 'huh'? Can't you understand human speech?" His cold gaze swept over her, like a poisoned ice knife, sending chills down Su Muwei's spine.

She gritted her teeth, glaring defiantly at him. That damned bastard, what right did he have to tell her to get out? What right did he have!

Seeing that she was still standing there without moving, Bei Mingmo snorted coldly, and with a slight exertion of force, her joints instantly dislocated with a crack. Su Muwei screamed and fell to the ground, curling up and groaning in pain.

Bei Mingmo stood up, flicked his sleeve, turned away with a cold arrogance, leaving behind a lonely figure.

Su Muwei lay on the ground, nearly fainting from the pain, but she still forced herself to get up and staggered out the door.

Bang! She shoved aside the maids and servants guarding outside and stumbled out.

She had to leave. She couldn't be imprisoned here by Bei Mingmo, or she would become a corpse sooner or later.

The night was deep and the dew was heavy. With her wet hair disheveled and her body naked, she ran along the alley. She remembered that there was a cave behind the courtyard, where she could perhaps hide for a while.

However, when she ran to the backyard and looked up, all she saw was desolation, with only withered grass growing everywhere. She looked around and realized that it was an abandoned little house.

"Where is this?" she murmured blankly. Suddenly, she saw a grave with the words "Mother Consort" engraved on the tombstone. This grave must be Aunt Su's, right?

She paused for a moment, then slowly walked into the grave.

Su Muwei knelt before the grave, reaching out to touch the words engraved on the tombstone. A tear silently slid down her cheek, and she choked out, "Mother, I miss you."

She lay prostrate on the tombstone, weeping bitterly. She had never been so heartbroken, as if her whole heart had shattered and was bleeding profusely from the pain.

What are you doing here?

Suddenly, a deep male voice came from behind, startling Su Muwei, who was burying her head and crying.

She hurriedly looked up and, by the moonlight, saw a man leaning against the stone steps beside the grave. He was dressed in purple and wore a silver mask, revealing only his sexy thin lips and perfect features.

Upon seeing who it was, Su Muwei was so frightened that she took several steps back.

Bei Mingmo glanced at her coldly, then strode towards her step by step with his long, straight legs.

"Don't come any closer!" Su Muwei looked at him warily. The man was giving her a strong sense of pressure, and she was afraid.
