Murong Jing's voice was pleading.
His words softened her heart, but she still couldn't make a decision.
“I’ll give you time to think it over.” Murong Jing smiled wryly when he saw that she hadn’t given him an answer yet. “Don’t worry, I’ll wait for you. I know you’re unwilling. If you’re not willing, that’s fine, I won’t force you. I know you already have someone in mind, and I respect your choice.”
After saying this, Murong Jing turned and left. His back looked lonely and desolate, and Qu Muya suddenly felt a pang of sorrow. She wanted to chase after him and stop him, but her legs felt like lead, making it impossible for her to take a step.
Murong Jing took a few steps when he heard Qu Muya's voice from behind: "Prince Jing, if one day you find a suitable girl, please don't force it, and don't let her down."
Murong Jing paused for a moment, then continued walking forward.
Qu Muya gazed at his lonely and desolate figure, tears welling up in her eyes. He was so good; she didn't deserve someone as outstanding as him.
She had always been a lowly commoner; how could she be worthy of him?
Murong Jing, please forgive me. We are like two parallel lines, destined never to intersect. I will try my best to forget you and strive to make myself happy.
Qu Muya gritted her teeth, turned around, and walked forward.
"Mu Ya!"
Qu Muya stopped in her tracks and slowly turned around. Murong Jing was already standing in front of her, staring intently at her.
Murong Jing's eyes seemed to burn with a raging fire. He reached out and stroked her cheek, his gaze filled with deep longing, love, and intense sadness.
"Muya, if one day I discover that you don't love me, but my love for you remains deep, even exceeding my own expectations, then could you give me a chance to take care of you?"
Qu Muya looked at the handsome man before her, his eyes filled with sincerity. Her heart suddenly trembled, her eyes reddened, and tears flowed uncontrollably.
"Okay, okay, I promise you, if you're still this devoted to me on that day."
"Okay, I'll wait for you."
Murong Jing's eyes sparkled with a brilliant light, like stars twinkling in the night sky, so bright and dazzling.
"Alright, it's getting late, I'll be going now."
Qu Muya nodded, and Murong Jing turned and left.
Her gaze followed him until he disappeared from sight, then she reluctantly turned back. Murong Jing was standing behind her; he must have heard her. She wondered if he had misunderstood.
From the moment she was reborn and returned to the Marquis's mansion, Su Muya, whose heart was ashen, made a vow—to escape this place that was like a cage.
She absolutely could not repeat the same mistake and become a victim of someone else's insidious schemes. A strong fighting spirit ignited within her, as if a new force was surging within her.
The morning light streamed through the window, illuminating her beautiful face. In the mirror, her features were exquisite, her lips red and her teeth white, a testament to her mother's unparalleled beauty.
She secretly thought that with that face, she could easily win over even the Marquis's mansion. However, her mind was not on such empty praise.
"I'll show you that the legitimate daughter of the Marquis of Pingnan is not a pitiful creature," she whispered to herself in the mirror, her voice clear and firm.
As the first rays of dawn shone through the window, they shone on her, as if gilding her with a golden glow.
Just as she was making plans in her mind, a deep voice suddenly came to her ear: "Do you want to escape from the Marquis's mansion?"
Su Muya was stunned for a moment, then turned her head and looked around, but did not see anyone.
The voice seemed to emanate from the depths of her heart, carrying a hint of mystery. She was startled, a sense of unease rising within her. Could the person she was secretly criticizing really hear her innermost thoughts?
She recalled that when she first transmigrated, a voice inside her was calling out to her, telling her to escape the Marquis's mansion, to escape all of this.
She nodded involuntarily.
"Very well, then you shall be my pawn."
Upon hearing this, a scene suddenly flashed through Su Muya's mind, as if she were seeing a stunning picture.
A handsome young man rode a tall, chestnut-colored steed, looking dashing and imposing. He was surrounded by guards holding long swords, each with a solemn expression, a murderous look on their faces, and a fierce glint in their eyes.
The boy seemed to sense her gaze, slowly raising his eyes. His dark eyes stared directly at her, sharp and piercing like those of a hawk.
A mocking smile played at the corners of his lips as he said, enunciating each word clearly, "Do you want to escape from here?"
The voice possessed a bewitching charm, causing her to answer without warning, "I think so!"
The boy snorted coldly, "Since you want to, then I'll help you."
"Who...who exactly are you?" she asked, a vague sense of fear creeping into her heart. She felt there was danger in the boy's words.
The young man's lips curled into a wicked smile, his eyes as cold as ice, radiating an icy chill. With a flick of his sleeve, he said indifferently, "Just remember, my name is Xiao Tianchen, and I am the one who rewrote your destiny today."
"The rewriter?" Su Muya murmured to herself, "Who...who exactly are you?"
Xiao Tianchen's lips curled into a cold smile. "You don't need to know who I am. Just remember one thing: I will help you get revenge, and then I will let you go back to where you belong and live the life you want."
"You're lying. I don't have any enemies at all." Su Muya didn't believe his nonsense.
"Heh, I'm telling the truth. If you don't believe me, you can ask the others in the Marquis's mansion." Xiao Tianchen sneered. "I hope you don't regret it; you have no way out now."
Su Muya gritted her teeth. Although she had lost her memory, she was not stupid. She knew that what Xiao Tianchen said was true, which meant that she could only rely on this stranger from now on.
“I understand. Don’t worry, I will do as you say,” Su Muya said.
"Very good." Xiao Tianchen responded calmly, turning around to leave her with his proud and aloof back. "From now on, you will live here."
Watching the receding figure, Su Muya clenched her fists. She knew she had been used, not only physically but also spiritually. This strengthened her resolve to leave.
A fire burned within her, burning so intensely it seemed to burst forth from her chest. Yet, she dared not act rashly, for she was unsure whether she could escape the control of this stranger.
Su Muya closed her eyes unwillingly, and the anger in her heart slowly subsided, turning her into a calm person.
