Outside the pitch-black mortuary, several dark figures silently surrounded it.

"Listen up, you people inside, you're surrounded!" a deep voice rang out.

Murong Xuewei stood on the roof beam of the mortuary, and by the moonlight, she could see the people below. A dozen or so men in black were spread out in a fan shape, each holding a sharp blade; they were dressed as the Jiangnan Shadow Guards.

"You found me?" Murong Xuewei suddenly spoke, her voice sounding particularly cold in the night.

The lead shadow guard looked up, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes: "So Madam Murong is indeed here. Please come with us."

“Unfortunately,” Murong Xuewei’s voice drifted in the darkness, “I have other plans.”

Before she finished speaking, she had already darted out of the courtyard.

"Chase!" The shadow guards immediately dispersed, forming a tight net.

Murong Xuewei moved nimbly between the eaves, her shadow guards close behind. In the moonlight, her figure moved like a fish, deftly dodging each attack.

“Interesting,” the lead shadow guard sneered. “No wonder he managed to escape from Lord Jiang.”

Suddenly, a hidden arrow whistled through the air. Murong Xuewei dodged it, but her sleeve was still torn. She was startled; the shadow guard's archery skills were incredibly accurate.

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!" Three more arrows were fired in quick succession.

As Murong Xuewei dodged, she mentally calculated: one, two, three... four, five... she knew the location of each shadow guard by heart.

Just then, the moonlight was obscured by clouds. The surroundings were plunged into complete darkness.

"The opportunity has come!" Murong Xuewei thought to herself with delight, and took advantage of the darkness to turn around and escape.

"Trying to leave?" A cold voice suddenly rang in her ears. A gleaming short sword was already pressed against her back.

Murong Xuewei was startled: Such fast movement technique!

"Your skill is impressive," she said calmly.

The leader of the shadow guards sneered, "Enough nonsense, hand over the map of the secret passage!"

"A picture?" Murong Xuewei feigned surprise. "What picture?"

"Don't play dumb!" The shadow guard's sword tip drew even closer. "We know you took the blueprints from the old tailor."

At this moment, a burst of shouting and killing suddenly came from the distance.

The leader of the shadow guards' expression changed drastically: "We've fallen for their trap!"

Murong Xuewei seized the opportunity to lean back and escape from his sword. But before she could regain her footing, two more shadow guards pounced on her.

With a loud bang, a large hole suddenly blew open in the courtyard wall. Gu Ye led his men in and stormed in.

"lady!"

"Stop them!" the Shadow Guard leader shouted.

The moonlight reappeared, illuminating the chaotic battlefield. But just then, Murong Xuewei suddenly felt dizzy.

"This is..." She touched her torn sleeve, catching a faint scent of fragrance, "Poison!"

The leader of the shadow guards watched her staggering figure and sneered, "Miss Murong, you underestimate us."

Murong Xuewei struggled to stay upright. She knew this was exactly what she wanted. But the poison seemed far stronger than she had anticipated...

"Xuewei!" Gu Ye's urgent voice came.

Murong Xuewei glanced back at her husband, a hint of apology flashing in her eyes, before collapsing to the ground.

"Take her away!" At the command of the Shadow Guard leader, two Shadow Guards immediately stepped forward and picked up Murong Xuewei.

"Stop!" Gu Ye drew his sword and was about to give chase.

"General, wait!" General Zhang stopped him. "Don't forget the plan!"

Gu Ye gripped the hilt of his sword tightly, watching the shadow guards lead Murong Xuewei away, his heart aching as if being torn apart.

"Should we really put her in such a dangerous situation..." he muttered to himself.

General Zhang patted him on the shoulder: "Don't worry, I've made the arrangements. As soon as she enters the palace, our people will..."

"No," Gu Ye suddenly interrupted him, "the plan has changed. Notify all the spies in the city that tomorrow at midnight, at all costs, we must storm the palace!"

General Zhang exclaimed in surprise, "This...is too risky!"

"Nothing ventured, nothing gained." Gu Ye gazed resolutely towards the palace. "Since Xiao Wan Ning wants to play, then let's play a big game!"

At this moment, a sedan chair was moving rapidly towards the palace. Inside the sedan chair, Murong Xuewei had her eyes tightly closed, but her heartbeat was unusually steady.

Inside the palace prison, Xiao Wanning looked down at Murong Xuewei, who was kneeling on the ground.

"Where is the map to the secret passage?" Her voice was icy.

Murong Xuewei raised her head, her face pale but with a hint of sarcasm: "***What a grand gesture, even inviting the Jiangnan Shadow Guards."

"Stop bullying the weak here!" Jiang Lingyun stepped forward. "Hand over the map now!"

Murong Xuewei sneered, "Lord Jiang, shouldn't you be investigating Gu Ye's whereabouts? What brings you here?"

Jiang Lingyun's expression changed, and he was about to lash out, but Xiao Wanning raised her hand to stop him.

“Xuewei,” Xiao Wanning’s tone suddenly softened, “you should know that I don’t want to hurt you. As long as you hand over the map of the secret passage, everything will be fine.”

"Is that so?" Murong Xuewei's lips curled into a cold smile. "Then why don't you tell me first, where is my child?"

Xiao Wan's eyes flashed: "Do you think I'd tell you?"

“Whether it’s possible or not is no longer important,” Murong Xuewei forced herself to stand up, “but why did your people go to find the old tailor? And why is the entrance to the underground palace located near the site of the prayer ceremony?”

"You!" Xiao Wanning's expression changed drastically. "You really did know about the underground palace!"

Murong Xuewei slowly pulled a drawing from her bosom: "Is this what you're looking for?"

A glint of greed flashed in Xiao Wanning's eyes: "Give it to me!"

"You want it?" Murong Xuewei suddenly tore the blueprints to pieces. "Unfortunately, all that's left of the blueprints is the one in my head."

"You're courting death!" Xiao Wan Ning roared in fury. "Guards! Use torture!"

Just as the guards stepped forward, Murong Xuewei suddenly laughed: "Aren't you afraid I'll die in prison and ruin your grand plan?"

Xiao Wan Ning's hand froze in mid-air.

"Do you think I don't know?" Murong Xuewei continued, "You're in such a hurry to find the underground palace because..."

"Shut up!" Xiao Wanning shouted sharply, then lowered her voice, "Take everyone away!"

Once only the two of them remained in the prison, Xiao Wanning's expression turned grim: "Speak, how much do you actually know?"

“I know you’re not the real Xiao Wan Ning.” Murong Xue Wei looked directly at her. “The real Xiao Wan Ning died long ago, didn’t she?”

The air seemed to freeze. After a long while, Xiao Wan Ning suddenly let out a sharp laugh.

“As expected of the Murong family’s daughter,” her voice changed, “It’s a pity she knows too much.”

As she spoke, she pulled a dagger from her sleeve and held it against Murong Xuewei's neck: "Now, tell me where the hidden mark on the blueprint is?"

"Want to know?" Murong Xuewei asked without hesitation, "Take me to the underground palace."

Xiao Wanning narrowed her eyes: "Are you trying to bargain with me?"

“No,” Murong Xuewei’s voice was very soft, “I’m giving you a chance to live.”

Xiao Wanning was taken aback for a moment, then sneered: "You?!"

“You’ve forgotten something,” Murong Xuewei looked at her, “The wife of the commander of the Imperial Guards recently gave birth to a boy.”

Xiao Wanning's hand visibly trembled.

"If he knew that his child had actually been switched..." Before Murong Xuewei could finish speaking, Xiao Wanning grabbed her by the collar.

"You dare threaten me?"

“I wouldn’t dare,” Murong Xuewei said calmly. “I’m just telling you why I dared to come see you alone.”

Xiao Wan Ning stared intently at her for a long while before finally releasing her grip: "What do you want?"

“It’s simple,” Murong Xuewei straightened her clothes, “Take me to the underground palace, and I’ll tell you the location of the secret mark. Otherwise…” She gave Xiao Wanning a meaningful look, “I think the Imperial Guard Commander must be very eager to know the truth.”

Xiao Wan Ning was silent for a moment, then suddenly laughed: "Very well, I'll accompany you. Guards!"

The prison door opened, and Jiang Lingyun strode in.

"Take her to change her clothes," Xiao Wanning instructed. "I need to see her at the prayer ceremony venue at midnight."

Watching Murong Xuewei being led away, Xiao Wanning's smile gradually turned sinister.

"You think you've won?" she murmured to herself. "Once we find the secret of the underground palace, you and your child can both go see the King of Hell."

As midnight approached, the site of the blessing ceremony was completely silent.

Murong Xuewei changed into plain clothes and stood quietly in the center of the venue. Under the moonlight, her figure appeared exceptionally aloof.

"You're here?" Xiao Wan Ning's voice sounded from behind. Tonight, she had changed her usual luxurious attire and was dressed in plain clothes.

"Lead the way," Murong Xuewei said calmly.
