Murong Xuewei nodded. "They're most likely after us."

Nangong Yifeng's expression changed. "What do we do now? Should we go back and tell General Gu immediately?"

Murong Xuewei shook her head. "No rush. Since they're being so cautious, it means they don't want to be exposed yet. Let's pretend we haven't noticed anything and go back to discuss our strategy with Gu Ye."

The three pretended to be nonchalant and continued hunting, but they were all on edge. Back at camp, Murong Xuewei immediately told Gu Ye what she had discovered.

Gu Ye frowned upon hearing this. "It seems they're after us. I just don't know if they're from the court or spies from the Nanzhao Kingdom."

Murong Xuewei pondered for a moment, "Whoever it is, now that they're here, they won't leave easily. I have a plan..."

That night, the moon was bright and the stars were few. Nangong Yifeng was once again locked in the prison van, but this time, the van was deliberately placed in a conspicuous location.

“Miss Xuewei,” Nangong Yifeng complained softly, “why do I have to be the bait?”

Murong Xuewei smiled. "Young Master Nangong, you are the sixth prince of Qu Kingdom, priceless. If someone wanted to break a prisoner, they would definitely choose you."

Nangong Yifeng pouted, "Why do I feel like you're joking with me?"

Murong Xuewei ignored his complaints and turned to Gu Ye instead, "Is everything arranged?"

Gu Ye nodded. "Yes, I've already had people lying in ambush all around. Anyone who gets close will be detected immediately."

Time ticked by. The moon hung high in the sky, but there was still no movement.

Nangong Yifeng began to grow impatient. "Miss Xuewei, perhaps you're overthinking it? Maybe those marks were just left by a passing hunter."

Murong Xuewei shook her head. "No. Those marks are too deliberate; it's obvious someone did it on purpose. Let's wait and see."

About two more hours passed, and the sky began to lighten. Nangong Yifeng was almost asleep when suddenly, a faint noise came from the horizon.

Murong Xuewei and Gu Ye exchanged a glance, both seeing the wariness in each other's eyes.

"They're here," Gu Ye said in a low voice.

Sure enough, a few moments later, several dark figures silently approached the prison cart. Their movements were swift and agile, clearly those of highly trained individuals.

Murong Xuewei held her breath, waiting for the perfect moment. Just as the dark figures were about to approach the prison cart, she suddenly shouted, "Attack!"

Gu Ye immediately gave the order, "Fire the arrows!"

Instantly, arrows rained down on the dark figures. However, the figures reacted swiftly, scattering to dodge the arrows.

"Watch out!" Murong Xuewei suddenly shouted.

A dark figure leaped to the side of the prison van and was about to open the door.

Gu Ye reacted swiftly, thrusting his sword forward and forcing the man back.

The battle erupted instantly. Amidst the flashing blades, Murong Xuewei saw that the black-clad men were extremely skilled in martial arts, even Gu Ye's personal guards were finding it difficult to withstand them.

"Xuewei, be careful!" Gu Ye warned while fighting.

Just as Murong Xuewei was about to respond, she suddenly felt a gust of wind coming from behind her.

She turned around quickly, and a dagger grazed her cheek.

"Xuewei!" Nangong Yifeng jumped up and down anxiously in the prison cart. "Let me out! I'll help!"

Murong Xuewei ignored him and focused on dodging the enemy in front of her.

The man's skills were extremely strange; every move he made was aimed at her vital points.

"Who are you?" Murong Xuewei asked while parrying, "Why are you here to break me out of prison?"

The man didn't answer, but instead increased the speed of his attack.

Murong Xuewei felt somewhat strained, but she still struggled to dodge.

Just then, a scream rang out. Murong Xuewei glanced over and saw a man in black being stabbed by Gu Ye's sword and falling to the ground.

"Take them alive!" Gu Ye shouted.

However, the other men in black seemed to have been prepared.

Upon seeing their companion captured, they immediately scattered and fled. Murong Xuewei wanted to give chase, but Gu Ye stopped her.

"Don't chase them," Gu Ye said. "It's too dangerous."

Murong Xuewei then noticed that the camp was in complete disarray. Many soldiers were wounded, and some were even lying in pools of blood.

"Quickly, save them!" Murong Xuewei immediately ordered.

As dawn broke, the camp was bustling with activity. Murong Xuewei and Gu Ye approached the captured man in black. He was already bound hand and foot, but still maintained an arrogant expression.

“Speak,” Gu Ye said coldly, “who sent you?”

The man in black sneered, "Want to know? Dream on!"

Gu Ye's face darkened, and he was about to lash out when Murong Xuewei stopped him.

“Don’t rush,” she whispered, “people like this don’t speak easily. Let’s take it slow.”

Gu Ye nodded and ordered his men to take the man in black away and keep him under strict guard.

"Xuewei," Gu Ye turned to Murong Xuewei, "what do you think?"

Murong Xuewei pondered for a moment, "These people are quite skilled, and their actions are meticulous, clearly indicating they've undergone rigorous training. I suspect they might be the spies Nangong Yifeng mentioned."

Gu Ye frowned. "If that's the case, then the situation is serious. These people are lurking in the capital; who knows how many accomplices they have?"

Murong Xuewei nodded. "Yes, and their failed operation will definitely alert the enemy. We need to find out more information as soon as possible."

Just then, Nangong Yifeng's voice came from inside the prison van, "Hey, can you let me out first? This prison van is really small!"

Murong Xuewei and Gu Ye exchanged a smile, then walked over and opened the prison cart.

As soon as Nangong Yifeng came out, he started complaining, "Xuewei, you guys are too ruthless! What if those assassins really kidnapped me?"

Murong Xuewei raised an eyebrow. "Young Master Nangong, haven't you always wanted to prove yourself? Isn't this your chance?"

Nangong Yifeng pouted, "I didn't say that!"

Gu Ye glanced at him. "Young Master Nangong, do you know those assassins?"

Nangong Yifeng shook his head. "I don't know them. But judging from their skills, they certainly aren't ordinary people."

Murong Xuewei seemed thoughtful. "Nangong Yifeng, you previously said that the Nanzhao Kingdom had planted spies in the capital. Do you know the specifics of their activities?"

Nangong Yifeng pondered for a moment, "I'm not entirely clear on the specifics. However, I've heard that these spies are trained from a young age, possessing not only exceptional martial arts skills but also mastery of various disguise techniques. Some have even served as officials in the court for many years without being detected."

Gu Ye and Murong Xuewei exchanged a glance, both seeing seriousness in each other's eyes.

“If that’s the case,” Gu Ye said in a low voice, “then the enemy we’re facing is far more terrifying than we imagined.”

Murong Xuewei nodded. "Yes, and we don't even know who our enemy is right now."

Nangong Yifeng glanced at the two of them, his eyes darting around, and said, "Actually, I do have an idea."

Murong Xuewei and Gu Ye both looked at him.

Nangong Yifeng cleared his throat. "Since these spies are after me, why not let them have their way?"

"What do you mean?" Murong Xuewei asked.

Nangong Yifeng smiled. "What I mean is, we can pretend their plan succeeded and have them 'kidnap' me. That way, I can infiltrate their ranks and gather information."

Murong Xuewei's eyes lit up. "That's a good idea. But..."

Murong Xuewei looked at Nangong Yifeng, "It's too dangerous."

Nangong Yifeng waved his hand, "It's alright. I did plenty of this kind of thing when I was in Qu Kingdom. Besides, I'm the Sixth Prince; they definitely won't harm me."

Gu Ye thought for a moment, "That is indeed a solution. But we need to plan it out carefully."

Murong Xuewei looked at Nangong Yifeng with concern, "But will they really fall for this? What if they try to kill you?"

Murong Xuewei's sudden concern warmed Nangong Yifeng's heart, and he grinned, "It's alright. Don't forget I still have martial arts skills. If they really attack me, I might not be able to beat them, but I can still escape."
