EROS [Zerg]

Chapter 72 Combat

As the four members of the "Fight to the Death" team clicked the "Accept Challenge" button on their mech screens.

The four little bugs, along with their mechs, stood on a silver-white deck. The five mechs opposite them were their opponents in this battle.

“There are five bugs on the other side,” Annie said.

Damifia nodded and began to analyze in a serious manner: "We are not superior in terms of numbers, but since they are ranked at the bottom, their combat strength is probably not as good as ours."

"Never mind a few bugs, we must defeat them!" Rioli looked at the five silver mechs opposite him with great fighting spirit.

Eros looked at the mechs opposite him and was surprised to find that, from the outside, all the parts of their mechs were arranged very scientifically, and the model was also very unique.

"Be careful, they don't seem to be beginners." Eros had a bad feeling and looked at the other side warily, suggesting that they test the other side's strength first.

"Even if you're not a newbie, someone who can rank at the bottom can't be that good. Eros, why are you being so cautious with such a big bug?" Rioli said nonchalantly.

“You seem very confident,” Eros said with a smile.

"He's always been incredibly confident, ridiculously confident, so he's always the one who gets beaten the hardest," Damia sneered.

“Let’s launch a feint attack first to test their strength,” Eros suggested.

"It's better to be cautious." Damifia agreed to give it a try first: "Rioll, you'll go first. If you see anything unusual, quickly hide and run back."

Rioli nodded: "I'm fine with anything! Got it."

“We followed Riorio, providing him with support and adapting to changing circumstances.”

Eros observed that in this team, Damifia's role was that of a commander, Rioli was the charging warrior, and Annie had a low profile, preferring to rely on the brave and straightforward Rioli.

"Check the gunpowder reserves and calibrate the positioning device," Damilia issued the order once again.

Eros was quite familiar with the mech's equipment and quickly connected to the other three mechs, providing them with calibration data in a short time. "Everything is ready."

Rioli exclaimed excitedly, "Wow, Eros, you're amazing! This is a technique that's usually taught in higher grades, and you actually know it!"

"I'm going to take the military mechanic qualification exam this year, so I'm quite familiar with the equipment of mechs," Eros said with a modest smile.

“I heard from my brother that the certificate you mentioned is really hard to get, so it’s very difficult for the Empire to schedule a repair appointment for a mech now.” Rioli said happily, “If you can get it, we won’t have to worry about the mechs breaking down after we get promoted to the Star Class and start piloting real mechs.”

“You really know how to take advantage. These days, military mechanics have to be booked in advance, and the fees aren’t low.” Annie lightly bumped Rioli’s mech with the mechanical arm while maneuvering her mech.

"Uh." Rioli scratched his head, his laughter finally tinged with a hint of shyness as he asked Eros, "Is it okay?"

Eros nodded and smiled: "If you beat them, I'll agree."

"You'd better remember what you said!" Rioli laughed loudly, gripped the power thruster, and the mech accelerated sharply towards the other side, followed by Damiri and Annie.

Jessica and her comrades on the other side were observing the actions of the four little female insects.

Parili stretched her old bones and maneuvered her mecha to the front. "Those four little bugs were the ones who just spoke rudely, saying that we were aiming for last place?"

“This time, let them be last place.” Jessica nodded.

Looking at the four mechs charging towards her on the screen, their operation and combat tactics completely chaotic, they were just rampaging around: "One mech is enough to deal with those four little bugs."

"These four little bugs look like freshmen from a military academy. It seems I'm going to have to bully the little ones today. I feel a little bad about it, but they still need to be taught a lesson." Xiude gripped the power unit, pushed it forward, and the mecha shot off.

"Who said they couldn't bear it, yet they charged the fastest?" Parili retorted, controlling her mecha to rush forward as well, while simultaneously sending a message to the other mechas nearby: "Shude and I will go up and have a go first, you guys don't follow yet."

Rioli, sitting in his mech, could see the red dot representing the opposing mech rapidly approaching him on the screen. "Why did they only send two mechs? Are they that arrogant?"

"They look down on insects so much! I'm going to teach them a lesson!"

The poor little female insect had no idea that the group opposite her was a group of retired ace female soldiers who were pretending to be weak while actually being strong, or rather, pretending to be weak while actually being weak. She was also very angry and wanted to teach them a lesson for their arrogance.

"Come on!" Rioli was already prepared to have a head-on battle with the two mechs charging towards him.

"Riolia, come back right now!" Damifia's voice rang out from his cockpit: "You're too close to them, you're already within their firing range!"

"Retreat quickly and lure them to a place where the three mechs behind can't provide support in time!"

"We haven't even started fighting yet. If we don't try, who knows who will win!" Rioli said, but in practice, he still followed Damifia's instructions and piloted the mecha backward.

Pariri and Shude exchanged a glance through the screen and immediately split up. Shude activated his locator and locked onto the blue mech that was charging at the front.

"You really think mecha combat is hand-to-hand fighting?" The old female insect's wrinkled face broke into a bright smile: "The era of firearms has long since arrived, and the little female insect can't be too outdated."

The transmitter was pressed down without hesitation.

"Holy crap!" Rioli looked at the display screen on the mech's control panel and saw a silver-white missile relentlessly pursuing him from behind: "I can't return, I'm locked on!"

"Rioli, activate the defense system and come this way." Eros didn't notice the missiles behind Rioli; his attention was on a tiny electro-optical device on the radar positioning screen, which he immediately recognized as an enemy coming to surround them.

“If I go over there, we’re all doomed,” Rioli said, puzzled.

"Never mind, we're already doomed. We might as well take someone down with us." Eros's voice was calm. "Activate all defenses!"

"It's over just like that??" Damifia was somewhat unable to accept it.

"Our opponents are stronger than we thought. Their mechs are equipped with far superior gear. If we had the same equipment, we might still be able to salvage the situation."

"But unfortunately, the gap is too big. Our mechs are like cardboard against metal."

Eros knew perfectly well that the initial mechs they were using were no match for the silver missile chasing after Rioli.

"Max out your defenses, so it won't hurt too much when you get eliminated."
