EROS [Zerg]

Chapter 60 Please remain alert

"arrogant……"

Eros tilted his head back and muttered "Pride," when suddenly he seemed to remember something interesting.

"How dare I be arrogant, Your Excellency?" After saying that, Eros knelt down and kowtowed to Eli more than a dozen times, until his forehead bled, before slowly getting up and crawling to Eli's side.

With blood streaming down his face, Eros looked up at the fear and shock on the young male Ellie's face and gave him a big, bright smile: "Your Highness Ellie, how dare a female insect be arrogant towards a male insect?"

After saying that, Eros stood up on his own: "Is there anything else Your Highness Elie to instruct me to do?"

"No..." Eli was so startled by Eros's sudden kneeling that she didn't know what to say.

“Since Your Highness Eli has no further instructions, I shall take my leave.” Eros turned and walked out quickly; Eli could no longer see him in the blink of an eye.

Ellie stood there staring at the bloodstains on the ground, his face pale. He leaned against the wall, something hidden deep inside him churning up.

"Father-mother..."

Knock knock-----

"Please come in."

“Professor Brandt, it’s me.” Eros pushed open the office door.

Brandt was in his office revising parts improvement drawings when he looked up and saw Eros walk in, somewhat surprised: "What happened to your head? Were you bullied by the male insects at the banquet?"

Eros didn't explain further, a smile playing on his lips: "I wasn't bullied. If I had, I probably wouldn't be back by now."

"Don't get involved with male insects." Brandt handed Eros the wound medicine from the drawer: "Treat the wound quickly, and don't let the germs take over your brain. This is the part of your body I like the most."

Eros chuckled dryly as he took the medicine and walked to the mirror to apply it.

"Teacher, there's something I'd like to ask you."

“Speak,” Brandt nodded.

Eros recounted to Brandt the idea that Grand Duke Cavono wanted him to take care of young Elie at the banquet.

Brandt rolled his eyes halfway through the conversation: "Volunteer for an S-class male... What a great opportunity! Why didn't you just agree? What are you hesitating for? Why did you specifically tell me? Do you think I'll be jealous of you?"

“Of course not.” Eros shook his paw. “But I still have some doubts. I feel like something’s not right.”

Brandt's face showed a hint of sarcasm: "Looks like you're not exactly smart, but at least you're not stupid."

"Teacher, you just said you liked my brain."

"Haha, isn't this exactly the place I like?" Brandt laughed a few times, put his arm around the armrest of the chair, and leaned over to ask Eros, "Tell me why you feel something's off?"

Eros lowered his head and thought for a moment before saying, "Grand Duke Caveno told me that he chose me because I look like his female ruler. If I could take care of the young male Ellie, it would make up for his lack of a female father." Eros pondered, "But I don't think that taking care of the young male Ellie would make up for any regrets. I just look like Lieutenant General Evanson. Lieutenant General Evanson and I have always been two completely different insects. The young male Ellie won't be unable to tell us apart."

"Moreover, if it is to make up for the regret of Ellie losing her female father, Caveno can marry another female ruler to take care of Ellie."

"Since you've thought about all this, why don't you just refuse directly instead of asking for my opinion?" Brandt twirled the stylus in his hand on his fingertip.

“That’s because Grand Duke Caveno said that if I agreed to be a volunteer for the young male Ellie, he could help me deal with the harassment from other males.” Eros recounted to Brandt the story of the Kenyan males who came to see him today.

Brandt was somewhat surprised to hear this; he never expected that there were so many male insects involved in Eros's past.

How Eros chooses his future is entirely up to him.

“Eros, I have no right to interfere with your choice, but you still call me teacher. I have to tell you that Evanson Eastland made too many enemies in his lifetime. Sometimes enemies will approach you under the guise of friends or relatives, which is hard to guard against.”

"If you spend your whole life as a military mechanic, at the very top you'll be like me, with a job you love and your own office. You might not be famous, but at least you'll have a stable life."

"Being a volunteer for His Highness Ellie is a risky move. If you do it right, you might soar to great heights; if you do it wrong, you might disappear silently from some corner of the world."

Eros sat on the stool and listened silently to what Brandt had to say to him:

“I understand, thank you, Professor Brandt.”

"I will think it over carefully, please don't worry about me."

Eros left Brandt's office and went straight back to his dormitory.

As soon as I got to the dormitory door, it opened by itself, and it was Alai who opened it.

Before Eros could say anything, Alai asked eagerly, "I heard that at the banquet today, Grand Duke Caveno invited you to dance?"

Eros nodded: "Yes."

"And then you danced with him?"

Eros nodded: "The potential costs of refusing a male's invitation are too great."

After explaining, Eros told Alai about what had happened at the banquet that day.

"You said Grand Duke Caveno wanted to invite you to be a volunteer for Ellie's son?" Allai looked at Eros in surprise. "And you agreed?"

Eros shook his head and said, "No, I haven't given him an answer yet."

Alai breathed a sigh of relief, then suddenly stood up: "I can't agree to that."

Eros looked up at Alai with a puzzled expression. Alai's reaction was more pronounced than usual. "Why?"

“Because His Majesty the Insect King and Grand Duke Cavon are not on the same page right now, if you rashly get involved with Grand Duke Cavon and get dragged into their political disputes, you’ll be in trouble.” Alai’s female father was a female insect on the Insect King’s side and was quite clear about the relationship between the Insect King and Grand Duke Cavon.

“Yes, Professor Brandt also analyzed the pros and cons with me.” Eros nodded.

"I am not prepared to agree to Grand Duke Caven's request now."

"You have to solve your own problems."

“It’s good that you think that way.” Alai breathed a sigh of relief, and looked at Eros with some worry in his eyes: “I once overheard my father let slip that Lieutenant General Evanson’s death was related to male insects, but my father didn’t say what the specific reason was.”

"But I think that male insect is very likely referring to Grand Duke Kavenor, and even His Majesty the Insect King suspects so."

“Eros, you look so much like Lieutenant General Evanson.” Allai’s claws touched Eros’s face, feeling the warmth from his fingertips: “At a time like this, you absolutely cannot let yourself get involved without knowing why.”
