EROS [Zerg]

Chapter 58 Back then

"Oh, I see. I understand."

Grand Duke Cavon nodded: "But my thoughts remain unchanged."

"If you ever want to change your mind, you can come find me."

Eros bowed to Kaveno: "Your Excellency, I hope that day will never come. Princess Elie will always deserve better."

Kavenor nodded and extended a claw to Eros: "Although it's a pity you can't be my male's volunteer, I still hope to invite such a beautiful female insect like you to dance."

"Your Mightiness……"

“It is not polite to refuse the advances of male insects twice in one day.”

“But Your Excellency, my job…” Eros didn’t want to have too much to do with male insects, but then he saw Grand Duke Caveno nod slightly, and a female insect walked over from behind him and took Eros’s work badge.

“I think you should have no worries now,” Caveno said impartially.

If the male insect has gone to such lengths, it would be impolite to refuse.

"Yes." Eros could only bow deeply to Grand Duke Cavon: "Please bear with my appalling dancing skills, Your Excellency."

As Eros and Grand Duke Caveno entered the dance floor, countless eyes fell upon Eros because Caveno, a male insect who had never married a female insect since marrying the Queen, was now leading a female insect dressed as a waitress into the dance floor.

Fortunately, with Cardian's help in training, Eros would never have been able to dance this ballroom dance.

Under the envious gazes of the female insects and sub-females, Eros moved very cautiously, trying his best not to step on the male insects' fragile yet noble feet.

“You seem very nervous.” Grand Duke Caveno grasped Eros’s claws, slowing his dance steps.

“I’m not very good at dancing,” Eros explained.

“My queen isn’t much of a dancer either.” Grand Duke Caveno gave Eros a deep look: “You really do look like him.”

Eros remained expressionless: "Thank you, Your Excellency, but my name is Eros. I am just an ordinary, even somewhat disabled, female insect. I dare not tarnish the reputation of Lieutenant General Evanson."

“Yes, you are certainly different, but you don’t need to compare yourself to him.” Grand Duke Cavono sighed as he slowly moved to dance. “You have your strengths, at least you were willing to accept my invitation.”

"It is my honor to be invited by His Excellency the Grand Duke." Some of these words were already slipping out of Eros without thinking.

Grand Duke Kavenor nodded and smiled: "You were only forced into this situation because of my status as a male insect."

Eros paused, and Grand Duke Cavon gently supported him, stopping his steps as well: "It seems you really can't dance. I'm also a bit tired, so why don't you come with me for a walk outside the hall?"

"Yes."

Eros accompanied Grand Duke Cavon to a small square not far from the banquet.

"How nostalgic! This square has never changed." Grand Duke Caveno walked under the shade of the trees outside the square.

"Does Your Excellency have any memories of this place?" Eros asked appropriately. Personally, he had brought Grand Duke Cavenor to this square because it was the closest and most monitored open space.

After all, if something goes wrong with the male insect, it's hard to say without monitoring.

Grand Duke Cavon smiled and shook his head: "It's not exactly a good memory, but I do miss the silly things I did when I was a kid."

Eros remained silent, listening as Grand Duke Cavenor began to recount his childhood memories.

To Eros's surprise, Grand Duke Caveno began to tell him about his past romantic relationships.

To be precise, it was a failed romantic relationship.

Walker Calvino and Evanson Eastland first met in the royal gardens of Sepoliu Castle.

Walker Caven, still a male insect larva, saw a female insect larva sitting on a swing. Although she was just a larva, female insects always grow and develop faster than males. Even though the female insect was sitting on a swing, Caven still had to look up at her.

The female insect had her back to him, wearing a well-fitting white military uniform, and was polishing a short military knife that had been custom-made for him. The knife's cold gleam shone brightly in the sunlight.

Her long, golden hair was more dazzling than the ripples on water under the sunlight.

This led young Walker to mistakenly believe that the female insect would be gentle, just like the female servants and slaves of his male father.

But when he got closer, Walker was surprised to find that the female insect was stepping on the young male son of the Archduke of Eastland under the shiny military boots of the female insect.

Upon seeing Walker, the little female remained unfazed, lying on the swing and giving her brother, who was lying at her feet, a defiant kick.

The little male insect, whose rear end had been stepped on, whimpered a few times, rolled out from under the shiny little military shoes with a pitiful expression, and then ran to the female insect's legs for a hug.

Little Walker had never seen such an arrogant female insect.

Look at the worm-like markings on the back of his neck, so beautiful they seemed to be baring their fangs and claws, and those violet eyes, more dazzling and lively than any gemstone he had ever seen.

He wanted the female insect.

This was the first thought that popped into Walker Calvino's mind when he saw Evanson Eastland.

He then began a “fierce” pursuit of Evanson Eastland.

Methods include, but are not limited to, asserting dominance among all the noble male offspring, letting all the male offspring know that the female offspring is already Walker's offspring.

Furthermore, by taking advantage of the privileges of being an A-grade male insect offspring, he swaggered into the academy, presenting gifts and love letters to Evanson Eastland in front of all the female insects and their offspring. He even publicly promised to make him his queen, allowing her to live a carefree life in his Cavour family castle, without having to fight on the battlefield to earn military merits. All she had to do was give birth to a few more offspring for him at home so she could safely and worry-free enjoy wealth and luxury.

Unable to bear the harassment any longer, Evanson finally "went berserk" after hearing Walker Caveno have his female insect companions recite the "love poems" he had written for him outside a training camp.

Ignoring the instructor's attempts to stop him, he rushed up to Walker Kaven, snatched the love letter the boy had prepared for him, and mocked the ugly handwriting on it, saying it was so bad even insects couldn't have written it. Then, in front of all the insects present, he tore the love letter to shreds and threw it in Walker Kaven's face, using every curse word he could think of to ridicule the boy for being lazy and unintelligent, a complete piece of trash of the Empire.

Evanson thus "became famous overnight," transforming from a name that was always at the top of the leaderboard to a "celebrity" that was never absent from the conversations of students and faculty throughout the academy.

Because of this incident, Evanson, who had always skipped grades, was punished by having to repeat a year.

"How foolish I was back then..."
