EROS [Zerg]

Chapter 52 What if I asked you to dance?

Brandt tapped the table lightly, his face beaming as he coerced and tempted Eros.

"If you can win this first prize, your reputation alone will be enough for some colleges to hire you as a faculty member without examination, just like I am now."

"If you can't do it, it only proves that your abilities are limited, and I only like little female insects with unlimited potential for me to explore."

"..."

Eros thought Brandt was shameless.

Yes, that's extremely shameless.

"But I don't know how to do anything right now..."

"Shut that cowardly mouth of yours! Did you think all the theoretical knowledge I made you memorize was for nothing?" Brandt didn't want to hear Eros's hesitation at all; this little female was far too insecure.

"Since you can memorize theoretical knowledge that a normal female insect takes five months to memorize in five days, why can't I train you, this little female insect, to surpass those military mechanics who have studied for twenty or thirty years in a year?"

"Your hesitation now is not only questioning yourself, but also questioning my abilities!"

"Besides, don't you really want a pair of insect wings of your own? Don't worry, I'm not the kind of heartless sub-female who would embezzle the students' prizes. The prizes you win back are still yours. I just need you to give them to me to study."

Eros was somewhat puzzled: "With such a good opportunity, wouldn't you have a better chance of winning if you went yourself, teacher?"

“Yeah, but if I sign up myself, wouldn’t that be bullying the idiot? Besides, if I go, I’ll definitely be the focus of the whole competition, and it’ll definitely lose a lot of the fun.” Brandt made no attempt to hide his pride.

Eros felt a little embarrassed; Mr. Brandt was truly a worm who wasn't humble at all.

But giving it a try isn't a bad thing.

Eros nodded in agreement to Brandt's proposal.

If he can really get first place and win the prize "Obsidian Black", he will also have the opportunity to fly into the sky.

Although Eros lost his insect wings as soon as he became conscious, supposedly by being cut off, he had no recollection of them; he had been a bald female insect since he could remember.

Eros was given extra lessons by Brandt, and he didn't leave Brandt's office until it was dark.

The overwhelming amount of knowledge left Eros's head spinning. Even with his powerful memory, he was too tired to do anything but go back to his dorm and crawl into bed.

When Eros returned to his dorm, he found that Alai was not there again. Alai had been returning to the dorm very late these past few days. However, since Eros's time was always fully scheduled, he couldn't be sure what Alai had been doing lately.

Exhausted, Eros washed up, lay down on the bed, and quickly fell asleep.

In his half-awake state, he seemed to smell a clear and sweet fragrance. He vaguely felt that the scent should come from the pheromones of a male insect of at least grade A.

But where in the academy would you find male insects?

Furthermore, female insects suffering from pheromone perception disorder syndrome are completely unable to smell the pheromones of male insects.

Eros pretended he was dreaming and hadn't woken up.

The next day, Eros was shaken awake from his bed. As soon as he opened his eyes, he saw Alai mockingly scolding him for reciting the lessons Brandt had assigned him in his dream the night before.

Eros, somewhat embarrassed, scratched his head and told Brandt that he wanted him to try and win the first prize in the Imperial Insectoid Military Machinery Competition.

“I’m really nervous.” Eros rubbed his sleepy eyes. “Last night I thought I was hallucinating in my dream, like I could smell male insect pheromones.”

Alai was slightly surprised, looking at Eros's sleepy expression: "Are you, little female, thinking about males?"

"I'm dreaming." Eros can't usually smell pheromones at all.

"What you think about during the day, you dream about at night." Alai pinched Eros's nose: "Wake up, class is about to start again."

Eros resignedly got out of bed, glanced at the calendar on the table, and suddenly realized that the day after tomorrow was the day before the part-time waiter job that Director Raphael had mentioned.

The etiquette video that Raphael sent to Eros wasn't anything too complicated. Alai glanced at it and immediately laughed at him for cramming at the last minute.

Etiquette requires muscle memory to perform graceful movements. Eros, relying solely on memory, could only produce stiff and awkward executions.

Eros looked at Alai with some annoyance: "Do you have any ideas?"

“Don’t look at me, I don’t know any of this either.” Alai waved his hand. He had been in a wheelchair since he was a child, and no one would ever want to teach him these manners.

Looking at Eros's distressed face, Alai racked his brains and came up with an idea for him: "Don't you know that female insect named Cardian?"

“The Seth family is an old noble family, so hospitality etiquette shouldn’t be a problem for them.”

Eros thought Alai's suggestion was feasible, so he asked Cardian through the terminal.

After Eros finished his morning training in the Shining Star class, he received a reply from Cardian, who said that he could spare some time at noon to help Eros with his intensive training. Although it was impossible for Eros to master the complicated etiquette in one day, it would be enough to get him through the few hours of entertaining.

After all, the job of a waiter is just to provide some simple services, not to perform for the male insects on stage.

Eros was delighted to receive Cardian's help and rushed to the agreed-upon location as soon as get out of class ended at noon.

From afar, he could see Kadian waving at him.

"install."

When Kadian saw Eros run up to him, he smiled and asked, "Eros, what made you decide to become a waiter?"

Eros gave an embarrassed smile and told Cardian about his desire to work part-time and that the principal of the Male Insect Academy would be coming to the academy the day after tomorrow to inspect the volunteers.

Cardian frowned. "That's strange. Why does Walker, that male insect, keep coming to the academy lately? Is he going to find a female insect for Ellie so early?"

Eros couldn't quite understand Kadian's mutterings; he didn't like to meddle too much in things that didn't concern him.

Kadian glanced at Eros, then seemed to remember something, and the corners of his slightly downturned mouth lifted up again: "Alright, let's not think about that anymore. Time is of the essence. Let me teach you some of the simplest etiquette."

"Mmm!" Eros stood obediently, his paws folded in front of his abdomen.

Cardian was pleased with Eros's obedient demeanor. After briefly explaining a few key points to note, he demonstrated it for Eros.

These were all very simple movements, and after Eros did them a few times, he was able to smoothly follow the prompts given by Cardian.

Kadian liked Eros's clever mind. He put his two paws on Eros's shoulders, leaned down and whispered flirtatiously in his ear, "This is enough... but if a male insect asks you to dance the day after tomorrow, will you?"
