EROS [Zerg]

Chapter 36 Brandt

Under Cadian's guidance, Eros has been able to operate the mech and perform some simple actions.

"You're very talented."

"Thank you, Anne." Eros blushed slightly at Cardian's compliment.

"By the way, how much mental energy did you use just now?" Kadian glanced at the mental energy sensor, which had been reset to zero, and asked casually.

Eros replied truthfully, "I'm not very skilled at using my mental power, so I'm not quite sure either."

Kadian looked at Eros, hesitated for a moment before saying, "You should practice controlling your mental power; this belongs to the female insect cub."

"If you want to operate a mech in the future, you can come to me anytime."

“If you need me, just come to me.” Eros was very grateful. Although he was more inclined to believe that Cardian’s kindness stemmed from his resemblance to Lieutenant General Evanson, he truly appreciated this kindness and felt he had to repay it.

“Okay, I definitely won’t hold back then.” Cardian nodded with a smile.

Not long after Eros parted ways with Cadian, he saw Gally approaching him with an unhappy expression.

After walking off the stage, Gali searched the entire fighting arena but couldn't find any trace of the female insect. Later, he learned that Eros and several other female insects had left to give a group of male insect offspring a tour of the campus.

Now, seeing Eros, he didn't give him a friendly look either. Because he had been hurt by the male insect, Gali hated male insects and those female insects who liked to avoid them.

Eros didn't know why Gali was in a bad mood, but seeing him sitting silently on a bench a few meters away from him with a depressed look, Eros asked Gali what had happened out of concern.

“I’m wondering why female insects can’t live without male insects?” Gali glanced at Eros and said coldly, “They are stupid and weak. They are just vampires who rely on pheromones to parasitize female insects. Apart from getting female insects pregnant and relieving mental turmoil, they are of no use to the insect race. Why do female insects still idolize them so much?”

“I think it’s probably because we all have emotions.” Eros recalled his time at the underground auction house, when he had harbored a dark hatred for the male insects who had abused him… or perhaps not just male insects, but all insects at that time.

He had countless reasons to hate the entire Zerg race.

But later, he met Commander Enel, Camus, Cadian, Pius, Alai... Their appearances made Eros realize that although the world he lived in was not wonderful, it was not so bad either.

"I like male insects, but that doesn't mean I like all male insects."

"Kam is adorable, but sometimes I get angry with him. I think the little boy is childish and unreasonable." Eros smiled. "Although it's tiring to always give in, sometimes you really get some unexpected joy."

"How despicable," Gali sighed, pulling a cigarette from his pocket and putting it in his mouth. He then closed his eyes in silence and said nothing more.

Eros was speechless at Galilee's exclamation and could only turn his gaze elsewhere, waiting for class to begin.

When Alai entered the mech training ground, he saw Eros sitting on a rest chair in the distance. He walked over and handed Eros the textbooks he had brought.

"Did you spar with any insects at the fighting arena?"

Eros shook his head and recounted what had just happened to Alai.

"Your little male is really sticky, it's a pity it's only C-grade." Alai said with some regret. Although male insects can undergo secondary differentiation when they reach adulthood, secondary differentiation is meaningless for most male insects.

Usually, it's just a low-grade fever for three to five days. After a good night's sleep, nothing else happens except for some changes in height. Very few males can advance in the second differentiation.

“C-rank is good.” Eros shook his head. He believed that innate rank could not be used as a standard for evaluating a bug, but this idea differed from the mainstream bug mentality that valued rank, so he didn’t say it aloud.

Hearing Eros's words, Gali, who was sitting to the side smoking alone, sneered: "Of course, C-grade is good. If that little male was an A-grade or an S-grade male insect, let's see if it would stick to you."

“Gali!” Allai frowned as he watched the tobacco slowly burning between Gali’s fingers. “If you keep smoking this awful stuff, you’ll definitely get kicked out by Professor Brandt later.”

Gally shrugged indifferently, put the tobacco between his fingers in his mouth, and looked at Alai and Eros defiantly.

"Cough cough!"

"Who's absorbing that Blue Star stolen invention in the mecha training ground?!"

A sharp yet sweet voice came from the doorway, accompanied by the crisp sound of shoes.

Upon hearing this sound, Gali's paw trembled, and without caring about the embers on the tobacco, he shoved the unfinished cigarette into his paw and extinguished it.

Eros silently observed everything, becoming even more puzzled as to who the newcomer was.

Turning my head, I saw a slender sub-female wearing a teacher's bodysuit walk in through the door. She had long, light pink hair neatly tied up, and carried a heavy black toolbox in her left hand. Her heels were at least two fists high.

“Teacher Brandt.” As the class monitor, Alai was the first to walk over when he saw the female approaching.

Eros was somewhat surprised; he hadn't expected Instructor Brandt to be a sub-female. After all, compared to military mechanics, petite sub-females were more suited to clerical and service industry jobs.

But what surprised Eros even more was the respectful attitude that Allais and Galli showed towards Brandt.

Allai had already given Instructor Brandt a brief introduction to Eros, and now he brought Eros to Brandt and introduced him to him.

Eros knew that Alai was introducing him to Instructor Brandt, so he immediately walked up to Instructor Brandt, bowed respectfully, and said, "Hello, Instructor Brandt, my name is Eros, and I am a new student in the Comet Class."

Alai introduced to Eros, "Professor Brandt is the best military mechanic in the entire academy, but he's the best in our academy. Even in the entire Zerg Empire, he's considered one of the top experts!"

Brandt's gaze fell on Eros's youthful face, and after a moment of scrutiny, a smile immediately spread across his face: "What a beautiful little female insect."

Eros is not particularly tall for a female insect, so Brandt, who was wearing high heels, was even taller than Eros.

Brandt, who was always very concerned about his height, liked this height difference very much. He hated having to look up and talk to those hard and cold female insects.

Only after Eros got closer did he get a good look at Instructor Brandt. He possessed the exquisite beauty unique to sub-females. His tight-fitting instructor's uniform clearly outlined the female insect's graceful figure: curvaceous, slender, and exquisite, looking both capable and sexy.

Alai patted Eros on the shoulder and said, "If you want to become an excellent military mechanic, you must study hard with Professor Brandt."

"You want to be a military mechanic?" Instructor Brandt stared at Eros with a smile, his eyes revealing a hint of inquiry.

"Yes, instructor, I want to become a military mechanic and master a practical skill."

After listening to Eros's words, Brandt looked at the beautiful female insect's face in front of him and laughed, "This is very interesting."

He had once been honored to attend the victory celebration held by the Insect Emperor Inai for the army of the Sixth Star System as the Empire's most outstanding military mechanic, and naturally he had also seen Lieutenant General Evanson, who was held high by His Majesty the Insect Emperor.

Evanson Eastland was raised by His Majesty the Insect Emperor from a young age and was deeply loved by His Majesty the Emperor. He could freely enter and leave the Insect Emperor's palace, and His Majesty the Insect Emperor specially ordered that all the servants and ministers in the Imperial Palace address him as His Highness.

Brandt glanced at Evanson Eastland from afar. The proud female insect, dressed in a military uniform that was distinctly different from the gorgeous dresses of the surrounding nobles and symbolized her status as a female soldier, leaped down from the huge white mecha "Corona" and strolled to the side of the insect emperor, handing the military order symbolizing absolute control of the sixth star system to the noble insect emperor.

Evanson's stunningly beautiful face radiated confidence and pride. His natural aura and ruthless methods, along with the military achievements he had earned through interstellar battles, were beyond the reach of the insectoids, who couldn't help but look up in envy. Brandt only glanced at him from afar, but could never forget him.

Now, a female insect appeared before him, one that could read people's expressions, lacking the aura that made insects flock to her, without pride or arrogance, appearing gentle and without any sharp edge.

Unfortunately, this female insect had a face that looked exactly like Evanson Eastland's.

It's really interesting that he's wearing Lieutenant General Evanson's face, and he's cautiously but expectantly telling one of his sub-female friends that he wants to become a military mechanic.

"It's easy to become a military mechanic, but it's not easy to become an excellent military mechanic. You have to prove your talent first."

Brandt smiled and nodded, his expression perfectly controlled, giving off a kind teacher-like image that almost made Eros blush.

"I will definitely work hard."

Brandt nodded: "I look forward to seeing your performance."

After saying that, the sub-female picked up her toolbox and blew the whistle hanging around her neck to summon the lazy female insects of the Comet Class.

Brandt walked up to the female mech of the Comet class and pointed to the high platform above: "Today we'll watch the mech training of the Star and Celestial classes from here, and then their damaged mechs will be handed over to us for repair."

Upon hearing this, the female insects in the Comet Class all showed surprise and disbelief:

“Professor Brandt, we can watch them train, but we don’t know how to repair mechs at all. We’ve never done it before.”

"Never had any experience with them?" Brandt sneered, pointing at Eros. "Apart from this new female insect, who among you hasn't taken my classes?"

"Even if you've never touched a mecha, have you all forgotten everything you learned in theory class?"

"With your attitude, you'll still be a bunch of cripples when you graduate."

"Don't think that just because you have noble titles you can live a life of ease. You need to understand your own status. You're not male insects. Female insects will be kicked out of the family if they don't have the strength!"

"My courses won't prevent you from graduating, but I have to be upfront about this: when you graduate and find that you don't know anything and can't even support yourself, you'll regret it."

The sub-female sternly reprimanded the group of seemingly undisciplined female insects in front of her. In a class of more than a dozen female insects, no more than five could be considered decent. Any teacher with a sense of responsibility would not tolerate that.

“Even so, we don’t know how to repair them…” a faint voice said from the swarm. “Those insects value their mechs so much, how could they possibly let us insects who have never even touched a mech repair them?”

“Preparing the teaching materials is the instructors’ job; you don’t need to worry about it.” Brandt was unwilling to give these lazy students a chance to make excuses.

Brandt deeply regretted his momentary lapse of judgment in agreeing to teach the female insects in Comet's class. He would have preferred to use that time to find some promising young talents and nurture them carefully, instead of getting so angry every day.

Now look what's happened, that person has walked away, and I'm left here cleaning up this mess. What an irresponsible wretch.

“Instructor Brandt would always have the students practice operating the damaged mechs before he repaired them,” Alai whispered in Eros’s ear. “That’s why many female insects are willing to send their mechs over so the students can practice repairing them.”

Eros glanced at Brandt, who was angrily reprimanding and mocking the Comet Class, and suddenly realized that this sub-female in front of him was just a kind-hearted person with a sharp tongue.

A few troublemakers among the students were muttering under their breath, making the entire class's insect swarm chaotic.

"What a bunch of trash, utterly hopeless."

At this moment, Gali, who had been standing at the back of the class, suddenly cursed.

The mocked female insect's face changed, her expression twisting: "Oh, Gali, you call us trash, do you still think you're some kind of elite female soldier from the Shining Star Class? What's the difference between you and us now?"

"What's the use of learning it? No job would hire a female insect with a physical disability."

"Gali, you just look down on those female insects who obediently wait for their families to arrange marriages. How noble are you?"

"A female insect like you who doesn't respect male insects will not be liked by male insects even after your family marries you off. They might even punish you into becoming a female slave, hahaha!"

Gali choked up. One tongue couldn't fight ten mouths. He felt that these female insects were unreasonable. Couldn't they see how the male insects in the house treated their females?

Instead of thinking about how to escape that outcome, they're actually proud of it? Since when has becoming a male insect's plaything become something female insects can boast about and talk about?

“Gali was too impulsive.” Alai frowned. “No matter what, female insects have dignity, but he called other insects trash. Now no one can help him.”

Eros said nothing, his eyes falling on the female insects around him. Although both sides were arguing their own points and seemed very aggressive, he could sense that everyone here was in pain.
