Chapter 245 Little Monster
Chapter 245 Little Monster
“Evanson went to see you a few days ago.” Ina looked at Koway, who was clearly not in good condition either, so he was even more certain that Evanson’s unusual behavior was related to Koway.
"I wanted to give him a new body, Your Majesty. Have you forgotten that our insect cub is an insect that cannot grow on its own?"
Kowe looked calmly at the Insect King: "But something went wrong along the way and he found out the truth, and now he's throwing a tantrum."
"You're saying what he's doing now is just being difficult?" The Insect King almost laughed out of anger at Kove: "If he weren't Evanson, all these things he's done could be grounds for me to sentence him to rebellion!"
"This crime is enough to wipe your Eastlan family out of the history of the Zerg!"
Kowe remained calm: "You raised Evanson Eastland, and you know better than I do that he's still young. It's normal for him to do something outrageous on impulse."
"Could your lie to the insects be any more blatant?" The Insect King thought something serious must have happened. Knowing Kowe as he did, even if there were insects plotting a rebellion within the Eastland family, Kowe would never stoop to lying or concealing it.
The fact that Kuwait is behaving abnormally can only mean one thing: something big has happened.
The Insect King pinched his brow in annoyance: "I want to hear the truth. What exactly happened to Evanson?"
“The method we used back then had a problem.” Kove sighed and looked at Ina: “The success rate of directly transplanting the insect core is too low, so later I chose to convert the mental energy released by the insect core into data and import it into the new insect core.”
"According to you, isn't this just killing Evanson Eastland and then creating a monster with its memories?!" When Ina saw Kove say these words so calmly, her heart sank to the bottom. How could he have forgotten such an important thing?
This bug's thought process is completely different from normal bugs!!
In his eyes, everything was an experiment, data! Naturally raised insects and laboratory-bred monsters were all the same, as long as their components were identical!
Inai was furious at Kuwait's deception and immediately ordered his personal guards to detain him.
“Monsters?” Kove ignored the female soldiers getting closer and closer to him. He just thought the insect king’s double standards were ridiculous: “They all grow out of the same way. Even if you take them for genetic testing, their genetic matching degree is infinitely close to 100%.”
"How come the worm you watched grow up is a worm, it's Evanson Eastland, but the worms that came out of my lab aren't Evanson Eastland, they're monsters?"
"Oh, don't forget, every single Evanson came from my lab."
"They are different!"
Ina emphasized, "My insect cub is one of a kind!"
"Unique?" Kowe was speechless. "Once you master the method, nothing in this world is unique!"
"When do you think I used this method to change Evanson Eastland's body?"
"Was it when he accomplished great feats and reclaimed the territories that Rheincent had taken from you?"
"Was it when he was still a little bug who needed to go to school?"
"Or perhaps it was the first time you entrusted him to me, as you think?"
Kove looked at the Insect King: "Unfortunately, the hormones that time did not save his life. Instead, because they made him enter the first differentiation too quickly, his body and insect core could not withstand the mental power awakened during the first differentiation, so he died not long after."
"It's not to make you suffer, but the conditions at the time only allowed us to do this, and even now it's the only way to save you."
"Is there anything wrong with me deliberately preserving the memories in his insect core and placing them in a body that is exactly the same as his in order to keep him here?"
Kowe spoke with a clear conscience, but the Insect King felt as if a sharp, hard object was stuck in his chest.
Who could bear the fact that the insect they've loved for so many years isn't even the same insect at all?
According to Kowe, his insect offspring have been dead for over forty years, but can he really say that the insects that have been by his side for those forty years are not Evanson?
"So what is he going to do now?" The Insect King raised his claws to stop his personal guards from detaining Kowe.
“I don’t know,” Kowe shook his head. “But there’s something you might want to take a look at.”
Kowe's gaze swept over the surrounding insects.
The Insect King waved its claws to shoo away the other insects before Kewei projected the image from the terminal onto the screen.
Inside a cubic meter-sized transparent crystal box, a female insect larva without an eggshell is developing.
The beating heart in the chest was fully displayed on the screen through the almost transparent skin.
Suddenly, a pool of red liquid splashed into the transparent crystal box, standing out starkly against the otherwise cool-toned scene.
But before the liquid could fully spread, a pair of insectoid claws pulled the cub out of the crystal box.
The scene flashed by in a few seconds, and the next second, several pages of complex formulas and diagrams appeared on the screen.
Although the Insect King could understand that the data on it was related to genetic experiments, he was not a professional insect and couldn't figure out what message the video was trying to convey to him for the time being.
But as a leader in the field of genetic modification, Kewe immediately understood what those data represented.
"He took the genes of the ancient giant insect we found in the Imperial Royal Academy of Science and Technology, and then fused them with the genes of an unknown creature to create the monster in the video," Kowe explained.
What's so special about this monster?
"Everything is unknown now, but Evanson Eastland must have some purpose in going to such lengths to do this."
"I want Evanson Eastland to come back and explain this." The Insect Emperor directly sent a communication invitation to Evanson Eastland, who was far away in the Sixth Star System, using his terminal.
The call invitation was sent but the other party still hasn't answered.
"It seems he's prepared to fight to the death." Kowe looked gloating, his eyes showing none of the worry and pain he felt as the Insect King.
He was eager to know what was so special about the little monster that was created in the video.
The formulas left behind by Evanson Eastland are really interesting, but Kove doesn't want to tell the Insect King in front of him who is so sad he's about to break.
The Insect King's gaze was still fixed on his unconnected terminal. He glanced briefly at the eager look on Kowe's face, his brow furrowing suddenly. He was about to interrupt the communication invitation.
Just then, Evanson Eastland connected to the Zerg Emperor's terminal.
