EROS [Zerg]

Chapter 184 Confrontation

While the space pirates' attention was focused on Auditer, Eros quietly moved to the control panel and changed the ship's course. At the same time, the ship's energy to enable a second change of course had been exhausted.

In the vacuum of space, once a spacecraft reaches the first cosmic velocity and loses the propulsive force provided by its energy source, it can only fly in space by inertia along its predetermined course and cannot change its trajectory.

Eros set up the propulsion system control room to convert all the spacecraft's stored fuel into energy, and completed the spacecraft's final orbital maneuver in the main control room before the energy was exhausted.

The entire spaceship can now only move in the direction Eros changed, and the course it is on is the route that runs through five star systems and traverses the Zerg Empire.

This spaceship will only have two fates: being intercepted by the Imperial army or being destroyed by a cosmic meteorite.

"Who are you?" Neferoli looked warily at the insect dressed in space pirate clothes in front of him. Even if he was slow to realize it, he wouldn't think that this female insect who had suddenly stepped forward was one of his subordinates.

Eros aimed his gun at Neferoli. From the conversation between the other space pirates, he could deduce that Neferoli's status was higher than theirs: "I think we can put down our weapons and talk now."

“Ha! How interesting. You said you'd put down your weapons and talk, but you've raised your gun.” Neferoli retorted, raising his gun-wielding arm as well.

My arm was halfway up when a beam of white light pierced through it.

"hiss!"

"Big brother!" Felipe cried out when she saw the blood blooming on Neferoli's sleeve, "You dare to hurt my big brother, I'll kill you!"

“Don’t move, sir.” Eros watched as Philippe drew his gun, then calmly pointed it at Neferoli’s head and warned him, “If I find a gun pointed at me, I’ll choose to blow his brains out.”

"You...!" Furious, Philippe turned the gun she was holding halfway up and aimed it at the captured female insect beside her.

"If you dare to shoot my older brother, I'll make them my target!"

Upon hearing this, Eros couldn't help but let out a sneer: "Even if you kill them all, what then?"

“I have changed the ship’s course. Now the ship does not have enough energy to make a second course change. All the Zerg on board can only move forward on this one course. The only way to survive is to be intercepted by the Zerg Empire’s army.”

“Every insect you kill now is another sin you add to your list.”

"At least there is still a way out for you now. Giving up on yourselves is not a wise thing to do."

"You think you can make us listen to you with just a few words? You're too confident." Neferoli stared at Eros, clutching his injured arm. "I can tell you want to live."

Eros replied, "You might not want to die either."

"Although the Imperial Military is now paying great attention to cracking down on space pirates, I don't think you are a large space pirate group. If you can provide information about other space pirate groups to the Imperial Military, you may be able to avoid being killed and exiled to a marginal star system."

After a moment's consideration, Neferoli could only agree: "We can put down our guns, but you must also put down yours."

“Of course, you can put it down first.” Eros did not move the gun away.

"Put all the guns down," Neferoli ordered.

"Big brother..."

Eros added, "Throw it on the ground."

Neferoli found the female insect in front of him troublesome: "Throw it on the ground."

Upon hearing their leader's words, Emporio and the other petty pirates around him dropped their guns and looked at Eros with wary expressions.

"Now it's your turn to throw away the gun."

“I won’t throw it.” Eros moved the gun away. “I only promised to put it down.”

Eros knew very well that the gun in his hand was the foundation upon which he could stand here and negotiate with these space pirates.

It is the only hope for survival.

Eros moved the gun away and then used the laser gun to destroy the guns on the ground one by one.

"You!" Philippe had never seen anything like this before, and her eyes widened in disbelief.

Eros was an excellent marksman, a skill he honed while learning to assemble machinery under Brandt. Every gun he hit was rendered unusable.

Neferoli scoffed, "So even you female soldiers can be this despicable."

“I’m definitely not a good bug.” Eros finally felt relieved and leaned back against the main control panel.

His physical strength wasn't very good; his body inside the pirate's clothes was covered in cold sweat.

Even inside the helmet, the insects were unbearably damp, but Eros dared not take it off, fearing that the enemy would see his disheveled state and know that he was not in good condition.

God knows, just now, with more than a dozen black gun barrels pointed at him, Eros's heart was about to jump out of his throat.

Neferoli looked at the unsteady Eros beneath his feet, and doubt arose in his heart.

Although his pirate crew was not large, he had fought against the Imperial Army more than a dozen times and had never seen a female soldier as careless as the female insect in front of him.

They didn't keep their guns pointed at the enemy at all times.

He put his paws behind his back and gestured to Nika, who was standing behind him.

After receiving the signal, Nika pulled out a small bomb and threw it directly at the female insect they had just captured.

Eros was unaware of the danger. He was already exhausted and could only lean against the control panel to stand and confront the space pirates.

The panicked cries that suddenly rang out from among the captured female insects made him instinctively look up.

The sight of exploding smoke and splattered blood and flesh left the insect frozen in place.

He didn't know that those few seconds of dazedness had already made Neferoli realize that he wasn't a female soldier who had been on the battlefield, but just a stinking bug trying to appear calm.

"Damn, you almost fooled me!" Emporio spat.

There is an unwritten rule among the space pirates: they cannot kill female soldiers of the Zerg Empire during peacetime, otherwise they will run into trouble, as the Zerg are notoriously brutal and vengeful.

Especially for small space pirate groups that only want to plunder some supplies, once they provoke the Zerg Empire's army, it will be a catastrophe.

Eros never imagined that these space pirates would actually choose to kill the captured insects in this situation.

His vision was filled with blood red. Even though he was far away from the swarm of insects that had been blown up, Eros felt as if the insects' blood had splattered onto his face.

He raised his paw to wipe the blood off his "face," when a sharp metallic scraping sound rang in his ears.

Eros felt hot blood flowing down his left ear, and with his eyes wide open, he could clearly see that the face shield of his helmet had been cut open by a diamond-shaped metal plate.

The sharp corner of the metal sheet was only millimeters away from his eyes.
