EROS [Zerg]

Eros touched the name 【EROS】 on the diary, marveling at how similar its pronunciation was to his own name.

Since these are Evanson's belongings, they should be returned to the Eastland family.

With that thought in mind, Eros left the room carrying Evanson's diary. He intended to go find Cardian first, but instead encountered Cardian's lord, Yajun, at the corner of the corridor.

"Your Excellency Yaqiong," Eros bowed respectfully to the male insect.

Yaqiong looked at Eros and said gently, "If I remember correctly, your name is Eros, right?"

“Yes,” Eros replied respectfully.

“Kardian has been called away by his mother and won’t be back for a while. If you want to find him, you can come tonight,” Yaqiong said.

“Your Excellency Yajun, I unexpectedly found Lieutenant General Ivanson’s diary in his room.” Eros handed the diary to Yajun. “I think it should be returned to his household bug.”

"Brother's diary?" Yaqiong's gaze fell on Eros's face as she looked at the diary he handed her and slowly took it with her paw.

“This is my brother’s.” Yaqiong touched the diary made of star beast leather. “It was his prize for winning first place in the assessment of battlefield interns in the eight star systems during his first year at military academy.”

"To be honest, he had countless notebooks like this later on, but this one left a deep impression on me." Yaqiong looked at the diary in her hand and thought of something, then laughed, "When I was a child, I tried to take this notebook from him and he beat me up."

"That's quite surprising, insect." Eros noticed that the male son of Yaqiong didn't look angry and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

"What's so surprising? Don't you believe a male insect can be beaten by a female insect?" Yaqiong looked at Eros with amusement.

“The law will not allow male insects to be harmed,” Eros said seriously.

"No, of course it will. If you female insects want to, even S-class male insects won't be able to escape unscathed," Yaqiong retorted. "The laws are made by you female insects. You're putting the male insects on a pedestal now, but who knows what will happen in the future?"

Eros asked, "Does Your Excellency feel uneasy?"

“No, but it will feel unpleasant.” Yaqiong smiled. “That’s why I told those idiots they’d better be polite to their females.”

"Hey, you're the first female insect to discuss this kind of topic with me. I find it very interesting." Yaqiong gently tossed the diary in her hand: "You've probably read your brother's diary, haven't you?"

"How about I invite you for a walk in Evita Gardens? Tell me about it."

Eros hesitated for a moment, then, finding nothing amiss, agreed: "It would be my pleasure."

Yaqiong led Eros to the Evita Garden. Eros looked at the clusters of flowers grown in transparent containers. It was the first time he had ever seen such delicate flowers.

“These flowers were brought back by my brother; they’re not really suitable for planting on Insect Planet,” Yaqiong explained, noticing Eros’s gaze lingering on the clusters of roses.

“Very beautiful plants.” Eros approached a transparent container. “The flowers here are all white.”

“It’s not just white; there are other cultivated varieties in various colors, including a beautiful red,” Yaqiong explained. “However, those colored roses are behind the pine wall, where the female parent’s laboratory is located, and no insects are allowed to enter without permission.”

"General Kuwait has his reasons for doing this."

“He has his reasons, but he’s not always right.” Yaqiong’s gaze fell on Eros. “The red roses are planted on the outskirts of Evita’s laboratory. We can go and take a look.”

Eros felt that the male Yaqiong was implying something, but how could one easily guess the thoughts of a male insect?

"My pleasure."

Eros followed behind Yaqiong Xiongzi to the outer perimeter of the Evita Laboratory.

Even just on the outskirts, Eros was surprised to find that at least a small squad of troops had been deployed there.

"We've come to look after my brother's flowers." After explaining their purpose to the female insects in the guard team, Yaqiong was easily released inside.

The captain of the guards bowed respectfully to the male insect: "Your Excellency Yaqiong, please allow me to remind you that you do not yet have permission to enter the Evita Laboratory."

"I just went to see the flowers."

"Yes."

Eros followed Yajon through the long corridor, completely bewildered. All he saw were metal walls; there was nowhere that could provide a place for plants to grow.

Yaqiong stopped in front of a metal door, took out an identification card, and slapped it on the sensor. With a mechanical buzzing sound, the metal door slowly opened, and a crimson light flashed before Eros's eyes, causing him to widen them in surprise.

"Your Excellency Yaqiong, what are these?"

Eros looked at the room, which was several hundred square meters in size, filled with countless transparent pipes, which were filled with a constantly flowing, blood-red liquid.

“You can go and take a look,” Yaqiong said.

Eros held his breath and carefully avoided the tangled, thin pipes as he slowly approached the center.

In the center of the pipe stood a crystal vessel, in which a female insect stood quietly. Her eyes were closed, and she lay naked in the warm bed filled with transparent liquid. The pale purple insect patterns on her skin quietly outlined the curves of her body. The faint fluorescence suggested that the body in front of her was not completely dead. Her gentle platinum hair was the only thing covering her body.

Eros stood before the crystal vessel, gazing up at the beautiful female insect before him, who resembled a sealed deity: "Is he still alive?"

Standing on the outermost edge, Yaqiong heard Eros's question and answered:

"Without a soul, relying on these inanimate objects to keep the body alive, if that's what you call living, then I guess so."

"Why did you bring me here, Your Excellency?" Eros looked up at the drooping face of the female insect in the crystal vessel, and at the hundreds of syringes inserted into her body. "Your Excellency, what do you want me to do?"

The male insect's voice came from behind: "Do you believe in resurrection?"

"What does reviving Lieutenant General Evanson have to do with me?" Eros looked at Evanson, who had his eyes closed, and asked, "What do you want to do with him?"

Does resurrecting a loved one require a reason?

“But you must have suffered terribly before you died.” Eros reached his claws toward Evanson’s body, his gaze peering through the gaps between his claws, and asked in a very low voice, “Why would they want to resurrect you?”

Ajahn, standing behind Eros, didn't hear him clearly: "What are you saying?"

Eros lowered his eyes, smiled, and turned around: "I'm truly surprised."

"What's so surprising?" Yaqiong looked at Eros's calm face with some surprise. He had expected that the female insect's face should show no unease or fear.

"This is the first time I've ever heard a male insect refer to a female as its closest relative. I'm quite envious of Lieutenant General Evanson." Eros walked out of the crystal conduit group step by step.

"Your Excellency Yaqiong, may I ask if I may have the honor of doing something for such an excellent male as you who respects female insects?"
