EROS [Zerg]

Chapter 147 The Past of the Insect King (3)

"What did Kowe do to him?!" Ina froze.

In five months, anything can happen in Kuwait’s lab.

"What can you do even if you know?" Locke's gaze fell on the sleeping Evanson. "Kill him to vent your anger? Or kill Kowe?"

Locke Eastland’s words seemed to confirm that Kowe had done something terrible to Evanson five months ago.

Ina's sharp claws gently brushed against the sleeping little female's face, but ultimately did not strike.

The Insect King retracted its sharp claws, gently brushed Evanson's messy hair with its palm, and dragged the drowsy female insect offspring onto its shoulder: "Tell Kowe, he's mine now."

"I won't give it back to him."

His Majesty the Insect Emperor departed with great composure, but in reality, his chaotic emotions were like a tangled mess, completely beyond his control.

He walked back to his castle, and as soon as he entered, his servants anxiously surrounded him:

"Your Majesty, the wounds of the Dallas Insect Emperor have been bandaged, and now the Insect Emperor is insisting on seeing you... Is this a female insect offspring of the Eastlan family?!"

Ina frowned and gave the servant behind her a look, signaling him not to wake the little insect in her arms.

Amid the astonished gazes of the servants, Ina carried Evanson back to her bedroom.

Placing the little female cub on the soft bed, and watching the cub's unconsciously sleeping face, Ina felt an unprecedented sense of peace.

What if the baby insect in front of me wasn't the baby insect I watched hatch?

Why would Locke say that?

Will there ever be another Evanson in the world?

Ina couldn't understand it. The little female insect lying on the bed had features that were very similar to the cub in his memory. He was sure that the cub's features would look like this when it grew up. And those violet eyes of the bewitching insect were more pure and dazzling than any gem in the gem palace he gave to Emperor Darles.

Ina suddenly felt relieved that Kowe wasn't a "normal" female insect. This female insect was very indifferent and wouldn't waste her emotions on other insects at all.

Therefore, he was certain that his blatant act of robbery would not elicit a strong reaction from Kuwait.

"You're mine now, little thing."

Ina is over a hundred years old, but he has only lived a third of his insect life and is still a very young female insect.

Female insects that adopt offspring are usually old female insects who are nearing the end of their lives and have no offspring of their own. They raise stray offspring simply to pass the time or to ensure they have something to rely on in their old age.

But Ina was different; he genuinely loved this beautiful little bug. He and the Insect Emperor Darles would never have any more bugs, and he would never have any in his life, so Evanson would be his only bug.

Evanson was his only one.

The Insect King embraced the soft little female on the bed, pressed his cheek against his curly golden hair, and gently sniffed the eggy smell on the insect cub's body; it was quite tender.

"Wake up, Father."

Ina was shaken awake by a pair of tiny paws.

"The sun's scorching your butt, Father, wake up!"

Ina knew in his heart that the insect-made sun wouldn't burn his butt. That thing was too resource-intensive. On average, the insect-made suns in the eight star systems would consume a resource star every hundred years. Moreover, he had to sign off on the amount of resources invested each year. The energy input was controlled at the minimum level just to maintain normal life and work.

Hearing the little female babbling beside her, Ina flipped over and pinned Evanson down, picking up the mischievous little bug and lifting it high: "The little bug that lies to the bug will be punished."

"I'm not lying to the female father, you'll be in trouble if you wake up any later!" Evanson said, swinging the little insect's feet and talking nonsense with a straight face.

“I am not your male parent.” Ina hugged the insect cub back into her arms and corrected her once again.

"Hmph, if you're not my male father, then whose male father are you? And where is my male father?"

Ina rubbed her cheek against Evanson's soft curly hair helplessly: "Fine, I'm your male father, you can't call me male father."

"Why? If I don't call you Father-in-law, what should I call you?"

"In front of other insects, you must call me Your Majesty."

“But when it’s just you and me, you can call me Ina or Father-in-law, it’s up to you,” Ina said.

Evans tilted his head: "Why can't I call you 'father' in front of other insects?"

Ina smiled gently: "If you call me 'father' and the other insects hear you, they will take you away, and I will never see you again."

"No!" Evanson buried his head in the Insect Queen's thick pajamas: "I don't want to be a little insect without a female father!"

“Evanson.” Ina gently kissed the insect’s forehead, her voice tender yet obsessive: “You are mine, don’t let other bad insects take you away.”

"Okay." The little female didn't understand, but the feeling of being cherished made him very happy, so he hugged Ina back: "Ina, you're mine too! I won't share with any other insects!"

Other insects… Ina suddenly remembered the male insect that she had forgotten about.

Emperor Darles lay in his luxurious room, which was in complete disarray. He had vented his anger until the early hours of the morning, and finally, exhausted, he lay down on his luxurious bed and fell asleep.

When Ina opened the door, he saw a mess on the floor of the room. His gaze fell on the sleeping male lord on the large bed.

The queen insect walked to the bedside of the male insect, looking at the male insect she had once loved so dearly, her heart filled with complex emotions.

What was it about this male insect that I fell for back then?

Dallas is fundamentally no different from those arrogant and licentious male insects.

Darles was so exhausted that he slept until the sun was high in the sky before waking up.

He was really unlucky yesterday; he was scratched by a female insect offspring, and his own female lord didn't even care about him.

Darles was furious and wanted to settle the score with the little insect, but when he opened his eyes, he found his queen sitting by his bedside.

Ina sat quietly on one side of the bed, watching the male insect wake up.

"Ina?!" Dallas's eyes widened, clearly not expecting to see Ina as soon as he woke up.

Since the two insects parted ways on bad terms twenty years ago, Darles has never shared a bed with the Insect Queen Ina. Apart from necessary mental comfort, the two insects have had very little contact.

Darles couldn't understand it. Before he made that small request, his life with Ina was as sweet as honey. Except when Ina was handling government affairs, they were almost inseparable.

The queen insect extended its claw and gently touched the male insect's face: "Master."

Darles immediately understood; this was a sign that the female was about to give in. Just as he was about to extend his claws to embrace her, Ina said:

“My lord, I wish to adopt a female insect offspring from the Eastlan family.”

"What?!" Darles's voice suddenly rose, and his claws reaching for the female insect stopped. "I disagree! I hate that offspring! We can have our own offspring, why should we raise someone else's?"

"Ina, do you not want to have any offspring with me?" The male insect had been able to clearly sense the female's growing distance from him over the past few years, but he didn't know why. Ina had once sincerely told him that she was willing to breed an egg with his genes.

Why, why should we adopt?

Why do I still have to raise that annoying little bug that hurt me?
