EROS [Zerg]
Chapter 115 A Mysterious and Powerful Enemy Has Always Been There
Before leaving, Lian Zhen left his collection and treasures to Brandt, and since then, his name has rarely been heard in the field of military machinery.
The male insects of Feng Qiya's family do not allow their female insects to go out to work; he only wants a female insect that can make him look good in front of the other male insects.
The female insects inside only need to act as mascots, serving the male master at home. Their task and the meaning of their lives is to let the male master experience the satisfaction of trampling these elites under his feet.
"So that's how it is." Eros felt sorry for Lian Zhen, but he didn't understand why she had to marry a male insect.
However, Eros believes that all of this may be inconsistent with Blow's account, and that only Lian Zhen herself probably knows why she did this.
“I don’t know what Lian Zhen was thinking back then, but we’re not going to do something so stupid.” Bro led Eros through different shops and stalls, using his expertise to tell Eros which materials were genuine and which were inferior or simply fakes designed to deceive the eye.
Soon, their conversation turned to professional knowledge.
“Here, a stall will never have all genuine goods.” Bro’s black plastic bag was already filled with several bottles and jars. “And don’t expect expensive things to be good. This is the black market, not a normal trading market.”
Eros nodded behind Bro and continued to listen attentively, completely unaware that a small figure was approaching from behind.
When Eros felt his thigh being grabbed, he was startled. Looking down, he saw that it was an alien cub.
The alien cub's face was casually covered by a tattered white cloth. It opened its only outer garment, revealing colorful bottles and jars inside, and then mysteriously opened its mouth to say something to Eros.
The alien cub's words, accurately translated from Eros's headphones, were asking if he wanted to buy its potion.
"Potion?" Although he disliked the Xenomorphs, the natural enemies of the Zerg, Eros felt that the young should not be treated too roughly.
He pulled his leg out of the cub's arms to indicate that he wouldn't buy it.
“This cub is selling super-concentrated pheromones.” Blo looked at the bottles and jars inside the cub’s coat: “The aliens can identify the insectoids by their scent. They know that female insectoids are interested in pheromones, so they want to sell you their potions. But those are all unregulated products. If you have any problems after drinking them, you won’t be able to find anyone to take responsibility.”
"It could be a real life-saving medicine, or it could be a deadly chemical mixture, or it could be a diluted sugar water."
"Where can such a tiny cub get potions and poisons?" Blo patted Eros on the shoulder, then turned and used the coins he had exchanged to buy the materials he had just picked out.
The currency used in the Macallan dungeon is a kind of exchange currency. Because different races use different currencies, Bro took Eros to exchange for a common currency after entering the dungeon.
“This cub is an alien, but Macallan is Zerg territory.” Eros casually tossed the alien cub two exchange coins, telling it not to bother him here.
Although the cub didn't sell any potions, it was very happy to receive the coins and ran off on its own without bothering Eros.
"Didn't we clean them up properly?"
Eros watched the cub run away, then looked at Blo with a puzzled expression.
“If the water is too clear, there will be no fish. Even in the First Star System, we catch a few Xenomorphs from time to time, let alone in a war-torn region like this.” Bro noticed the direction the Eros cub had run off in. “You seem to really hate Xenomorphs?”
“Few insects like their natural enemies, do they?” Eros said.
“That’s not wrong,” Blow nodded. “But the military’s research on the Xenomorphs in recent years has revealed that their genes are very similar to those of the Zerg.”
"What do you mean?"
"It means that we may have been the same species and clan a long time ago," said Blo. "You should have met Sang Shuang, right?"
Eros nodded: "I've seen him before, he's an Xenomorph now..."
“Sang Shuang isn’t really a true Xenomorph, but rather a sub-Xenomorph, though its physiological structure has changed significantly from that of the Zerg,” Blow said. “We still don’t know what those space pirates did to our companions to turn them into what they are now.”
"But we can be sure that the experiments those space pirates are currently conducting are definitely not limited to what we can see now."
"The Blue Star Pirates' technology is far beyond our understanding of them; they are a very mysterious, powerful, and dangerous enemy."
Eros frowned, somewhat puzzled: "I've never heard of this on the main planet."
Blo understood Eros's confusion: "This matter was not reported to higher authorities. To be precise, His Majesty the Insect King knew about it, but he did not inform the Male Insect Protection Association of the main planet."
Eros was even more puzzled: "Why wasn't such an important matter reported to your superiors?"
“If this matter is reported to higher authorities, do you think insects like Sang Shuang will be eliminated?” Blo chuckled softly. “But you don’t need to worry too much, His Majesty the Insect King already knows.”
"His Majesty the Insect King knows about this?" Eros blinked. "Has the higher-ups taken any measures?"
“I don’t know,” Blo shrugged, his voice laced with sarcasm. “How could ordinary female insects like us possibly know what the higher-ups are thinking?”
"Why does His Majesty the Insect King also need to hide this..." Before Eros could finish his question, Blo interrupted him: "There are some things you shouldn't think about. Even if you understand them, you can't say them out loud."
Eros paused, then lowered his head and said, "Yes."
The black market was noisy, and the conversation between the two insects was drowned out by the noise. Looking at the bottles and jars he was carrying, Bro realized that he still hadn't bought one or two materials, so he decided to take Eros to other stalls to take a look.
Suddenly, a commotion arose behind them.
“My friend bought his medicine from you, and it’s been three days now. He’s still unconscious.”
Eros turned his head warily, as if some customer and vendor had gotten into a dispute. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was the alien cub from before and a customer of unknown species who was three times his size.
The cub was lifted high and screamed in terror.
Bro grabbed Eros's arm and pulled him away, coldly observing the noisy scene: "Only greenhorns who are new to the black market would join in this kind of excitement."
Eros nodded. Here, he was actually quite naive, so he decided to avoid making decisions on matters that were unclear.
