I couldn't resist reaching out and touching it. It was smooth, tingling, and electrified.

The next second I was faced with the monster's face.

Contrary to the grotesque image one might have imagined, its face had clearly defined features. Its eyes were light violet, and apart from some unusual markings, its face was quite clean.
