EROS [Zerg]

Chapter 10 The Sad Eros

After leaving the Fourth Star System military headquarters, Eros kept thinking about what Enl had said.

If the Empire respects female insects, no female insect will suffer the same hardships she once endured.

What a magnificent dream! Only a formidable female insect like Commander Ener could consider such a noble cause as happiness.

Eros must give his full support to Commander Enel!

The female insect, as if receiving a spiritual baptism, thought to herself with reverence.

After Eros brought his son Kamo back home from the breeding center, he spent a lot of effort calming the increasingly lively Kamo down. Finally, he had some time that was completely his own.

The female insect took out the white book she had borrowed from the library and placed it on her lap.

All laws and regulations of the Sixth Star System government must be applied equally, rationally, and based on moral principles, without discrimination based on gender, social class, or birth, to effectively regulate the behavior of all its citizens within the star system.

This is written on the first page of the white paper.

Eros's gaze froze.

He could sense from between the lines that the author's views were quite unique.

It was so unique that Eros doubted he could finish reading the book.

This author is truly a rebellious and idealistic female insect.

The very first sentence of the book is so perverse and outrageous.

Equality means equality, regardless of gender, class, or social status...

These are not words a Zerg lieutenant general should write.

Those who believe in these things are the alternative females who form the rebel army.

If the above points are followed, the Zerg will surely perish.

The lack and uneven distribution of available resources have led to inequality.

Because of the scarcity of male insects, the genetic diversity of the species is constantly at risk of being disrupted, which inevitably leads to gender inequality.

The law of the jungle, where the strong prey on the weak, and the inheritance of genes, have led the Zerg to a hierarchical system.

As for nobility and baseness, those who possess the above advantages are sought after as noble, while those who are abandoned by resources, gender, and social class are considered base.

Eros continued flipping through the white paper, which detailed behavioral guidelines applicable even to males and larvae.

"Could the male insect academy appropriately establish specialized technical courses?"

"Do male insects also have to work? Do they have to pay taxes if they don't complete their workload?"

Can getting married reduce some of the workload?

Is work the best option for male insects to realize their self-worth?

"If a female insect is beaten more than a certain number of times a year, will she be forced to perform community service?"

Eros's face grew increasingly contorted: "My God, how could a female insect have such abusive thoughts towards a male insect!"

Male insects are the treasures of the entire insect race; they are delicate and fragile. In the Empire, even during mating to create life, to avoid tiring the male insects, the female insects always sit on top and take the initiative... How could any female insect bear to let the precious male insects do such tiring work?

Eros closed the book and set it aside, deciding not to read this brainwashing text that seemed to be written by a group of rebels in the universe who were on par with space pirates.

"Eros! Watch cartoons with me!" Kamehameha hadn't been in his sleep capsule for long before he ran out, clutching the male insect snacks.

He loved Eros so much that he wanted to hold the female insect in his claws all the time.

Eros lifted the little boy onto his lap, turned on the TV, and let Cam choose his favorite channel.

Kam was nestled lazily in Eros's arms, crunching on the snacks the female insect fed to him.

He began to understand why the male insects in the breeding garden, whose fathers had many female insects, would tell him that the best future for a male insect was to marry a few female insects and sub-females that he didn't particularly like, make them work to earn star coins, and then keep the female insects and sub-females that he liked by his side to have offspring.

How could she bear to let such a gentle and beautiful female insect as Eros go out to work!

The cartoon wasn't on yet, so Kam was bored and kept changing channels. Suddenly, he saw the face of a female insect flash across the TV screen.

When Kam replayed the program, he discovered it was a news program.

A photo of a female insect is displayed in the upper right corner of the program.

"Eros, that female insect looks just like you!"

The female insect in the photo looks almost exactly like Eros.

Platinum blonde hair, violet eyes.

The only difference is that the female insect in the photo exudes a serious and austere aura, unlike Eros, who radiates tenderness towards himself.

"I've heard other males say he's a big bad guy," Kama complained to Eros, pointing to the female insect in the photo.

“He doesn’t like male insects. Eros can’t be like him. Eros said he would always love Kama.”

"What's his name?" This was the first time Eros had ever seen a female insect that looked so much like himself.

“His name is Evanson. My father said there’s no insect in the entire empire who doesn’t know his name,” Kam said, crunching away on a rice cake.

"Evanson Eastland?"

Eros touched the book he had just put down; its author was none other than Evanson Eastland.

"Can I watch this show?" Eros asked the little boy for his opinion.

Kam looked at the time and his mood suddenly became conflicted: the animated film was about to start, but Eros rarely made requests of him... Should he show some of the generosity of a male insect and give way to this female insect who loved him?

The boy's struggle was already written all over his face. If Eros still couldn't understand, he was just being childish: "There's nothing to watch. The cartoon is about to start. Let's switch the channel quickly."

The female insect's concession allowed Kamo to happily and without any burden watch cartoons.

"Eros, Eros, look! He's so funny!"

"That little female insect tripped and fell!"

The little male, sitting on Eros's lap, was so engrossed in the cartoon that he couldn't stop laughing, completely oblivious to the female's distracted state.

The animated film tells the story of a little female insect from the slums who suffers all kinds of torment and hardship, but still fights hard and earns military merit and wealth through her efforts. In the end, she wins the favor of a noble male insect and becomes his female servant. She also receives a precious male insect egg.

It can be said that he rose from humble beginnings to the pinnacle of insect life.

"Eros, I'm sleepy." After reading to the end, Kamehameha yawned, turned over on Eros's lap, and buried her head in Eros's chest.

"It's all the same old stories, nothing new. Eros, can't you tell me something different?"

"A different story?"

"I want to hear the story of what happened before Eros met me." Kamehameha blinked his grape-like eyes, looking at the female insect with anticipation.

Eros's voice faltered, and the light in his eyes slowly dimmed: "I have no story."

“No bugs, no stories!” the little boy said unhappily, pestering Eros to tell him more.

"..." Eros didn't want to recall his past, to recall that dark month that lasted only a short time.

"Eros! I've told you so many stories about me. If you don't tell me more, I'll never talk to you again!" Kame threw a tantrum again, his moods unpredictable, his temper changing faster than flipping through a book.

Looking at the male insect in front of her, Eros felt for a moment that she really wanted to strangle the tiny male insect that had no ability to resist.

He is fully capable of doing it.

However, if he did that, the light that Eros could see would be plunged back into darkness.

He would be thrown back into that dark and gloomy auction house and never come out again.

Eros didn't want to.

He will soon be able to attend the best military academy in the entire empire, and perhaps one day in the future, he will be able to join the army and earn military merits.

Perhaps he, like the little female insect in the cartoon, can find a decent male and live the happy and stable life he desires.

"Kamo." Eros grasped the little boy's paw and pressed his face against it, his violet eyes filled with tears, looking both pitiful and beautiful.

The female insect held the little male's tiny paws against her heart, forcing a smile: "My past has a female father and a male father..."

Eros held the little boy and placed him in the sleep capsule, weaving a beautiful past that never existed in his own dreams.

Perhaps he really did have it in the past, but Eros has no recollection of it at all now.

Kam, nestled comfortably in its sleep capsule, quickly drifted off to sleep. Eros turned off the bedside lamp for the unsuspecting male insect cub, who was sleeping on its back with its belly exposed.

Walking into the living room, Eros turned off all the lights in the house, stood on the balcony, opened the window, and took deep breaths of the fresh air outside.

Everything in this house made him feel suffocated.

The hot tears cooled on my cheeks.

[Run away.]

[Run away.]

He must run away! Run to that place of true freedom that truly belongs to him!

Eros stretched his hand out the window and looked up at the dark universe above.

In the darkness, the beautiful violet eyes gleamed with a resolute light.

In the following months, Eros continued to dutifully take care of Xiao Xiongzi at work, and while Xiao Xiongzi was at Yu Xiong Garden, he found a part-time job delivering food for a cake shop.

The cake shop owner was very kind; Eros received some unsold cakes and bread every day.

Eros doesn't like these extremely sweet foods, which are what the males prefer, so these are all caramel.

"Eros is so good!" The little male gave the female insect a creamy kiss.

Because En'er spends most of his time at the military headquarters and doesn't have much time to spend with Kama, nor does he often buy Kama the snacks that male insects like, even though Kama really likes these snacks, he doesn't get to eat them often.

“They’re all yours.” Eros ruffled the little boy’s hair, but then looked away from the boy and out the window.

"Eros, what are you looking at?" Kam licked the cream from the corner of his mouth. Eros wasn't looking at him, which made the little boy a little unhappy.

"Kamo and I are going to school in the First Star System the day after tomorrow. I'm wondering if there's anything Kamo forgot to bring." Eros's voice was very soft, as if he was already preparing to say goodbye to a past he didn't care about.

Kama, however, was somewhat uneasy: "Eros, does that mean that once I start school, I won't be able to see you every day anymore?"

"Kamo wants to see Eros every day. Can Eros not go to school?"

Eros shook his head: "If I don't go to school, where will I go?"

“You can stay with me. Eros can deliver food and rent a house in the First Galaxy, so I can see you after school. We can live the same life as we do now.” Kam hugged Eros’s arm tightly, hoping the female insect would be accommodating to him once again.
