After the divorce, Mr. Gu spent every day at the crematorium.

"Sister!" Chu Yao disregarded his own pain and turned to run back to check on Shen Yao's condition.

The woman lay quietly on the wooden floor, her eyes closed, seemingly unconscious.

"Sister, what's wrong?" Chu Yao gently shook the woman's shoulder.

The woman didn't move; she remained completely still.

Chu Yao looked at the woman lying quietly on the ground, gazing at her beautiful yet somewhat broken face, and slowly reached out his hand.

His Adam's apple bobbed, and his hand lingered on the collar of the woman's dress.

Shen Yao opened her eyes and found herself lying in bed.

She rolled over and touched something warm.

She glanced over instinctively and saw a man sitting on the edge of the bed, asleep on his own bed.

Sunlight streamed through the white curtains and fell on the man's naturally curly chestnut-brown hair.

Shen Yao sat up abruptly, trying hard to recall what had happened last night.

She remembered that the man in front of her last night said he had a headache, so Shen Yao let him into her home.

Afterwards, the man kept running around the living room because he found the taste of the medicine too strong. Shen Yao was watching him when she suddenly lost consciousness and fainted.

"So, last night, I was alone in a room with a strange man?" Shen Yao immediately became alert. She quickly looked down to check her clothes and body.

"Sister, you're awake." A lazy voice, filled with drowsiness, rang out in the room.

Shen Yao looked at the man in front of her, her eyes filled with wariness. "Why are you still in my room?"

Chu Yao immediately knew what Shen Yao was worried about, so he raised his hands and made a very obedient appearance.

"Sister, last night, I only carried you to bed, I didn't do anything else. I swear."

Shen Yao is a doctor, and she knows whether anything has happened.

She breathed a sigh of relief, but then her heart tightened again when she remembered that she had to meet a client in the afternoon and meet Old Master Gu with Gu Tianyou in the evening.
