Me at two years old, a queen!

Chapter 12 Dad, are you blind?

In the afternoon, Lu Junxing left the old house. The family wanted to enjoy a proper New Year's reunion while the child was there, so they wouldn't allow the little girl's father to be absent under the pretext of work. He had to hurry and finish his work in the next few days so the family could go to Sanya for a good New Year.

Remembering how the little girl who had been engrossed in building a snowman absolutely refused to go back with him, he didn't force her. He just felt a little something was missing, so he went back to the company to get some extra work done.

An'an, who had spent the afternoon building a little snowman with her grandfather, was extremely pleased with herself and wanted to share her creation with her father. Suddenly, she realized that her father seemed to have left long ago, and she was all alone. Sadly, she squatted down on the snow, tears falling drop by drop onto the snow.

After Lu Jing finished building a large snowman, he was about to show it to his granddaughter when he noticed his little darling squatting on the snow, her bright red hat covering her entire face.

"Ouch~, what happened? Why are you sitting on the ground? Did you fall? Grandpa will level this ground right now! To avenge An'an!"

"Oh, my little darling, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" Lu Jing picked up the little girl and realized that she was squatting on the ground, silently shedding tears. It broke his heart: "Oh dear~ what's wrong? Who bullied our An'an? Why are you crying?"

"Waaah~, I want to go home! It's evening, An'an wants to go home!" An'an had been holding back, but as soon as Grandpa picked her up and comforted her, she couldn't hold back anymore.

"Poop? I want poop!"

"Oh~, our An'an misses Daddy, huh?" Lu Jing wiped the little girl's eyes, and she nodded emphatically. Lu Jing felt a pang of sadness; they'd only been apart for a short while, and she already missed her father. What would happen if they were apart forever...?

"Don't cry, baby. Daddy's gone to the company, you know that, right?" Lu Jing then carried the child inside, worried that crying would make his little face freeze.

"Hmm! But... Koshi An'an wants to go home tonight... Waaah~!" The little girl only knew that it was nighttime, and good children had to go home, otherwise the scary big bad wolf would eat up the naughty little babies, and then she wouldn't be able to see everyone again.

"Sweetie, let's not cry, okay? Yes, our An'an is so smart. It's getting late, so we need to go home!"

"This is Grandpa and Grandma's house, and it's also An'an's home. Shall we stay here tonight and sleep here? Grandpa will tell you a story, like Peppa Pig or something, okay?"

"No! Waaah~, no! No, not here!" An'an didn't see any familiar faces and felt uneasy. She wanted to go back to sleep at night: "I want poop! Waaah~, waaaah~"

Finally, even with the whole family taking turns trying, it didn't work. Lu Jing had previously scoffed at his son's claim that "children will look for their fathers," but now he could only call Lu Junxing. Unfortunately, even Aunt Liu's attempts to coax the little girl were ineffective.

Lu Junxing answered the video call, and before he could even adjust (after all, they usually talked on the phone about business and had never used the video function before), he saw his little girl being held in her mother's arms, crying so hard she could hardly breathe. Her little eyes were red like a rabbit's, and she looked at him with teary eyes, "Waaah~, Daddy!"

Why are you crying like that?

"Oh dear~, you have no idea, after the child finished building the snowman, he wanted to see you, but when he couldn't find you, he kept crying and wanted to find you!" Lu Jing took the phone and complained sarcastically, "No one could comfort him, not even Aunt Liu, he just wanted to go back to you."

"Is it because you don't want to stay here and teach the kids? I was wondering why you were leaving so indecisive, asking my dear grandson back and forth if he wanted to come with you! I don't know what you have to offer! You're not as rigid as before, but you've become quite dishonest in your actions!"

Lu Junxing felt that his father was more normal when he was working. He simply explained things to the child before leaving home, making sure she wouldn't come with him, because... the troublesome girl was still quite clingy to him.

"Alright, alright, you should come back! This crying isn't going to work!" Ms. Song Yuan interrupted her husband and snatched the phone.

She was utterly exhausted by the baby's crying. Having little experience with children, she was at a loss for how to soothe the baby and was already completely flustered. After giving instructions, she handed the phone to the pleading little girl in her arms.

The little girl stopped crying when she saw her dad. She excitedly held up her phone, eager to share her masterpiece with him: "Daddy, let me show you...look at the little snowman I made!"

"Hmm!" Lu Junxing saw the camera moving shakily, and heard the little girl's voice getting hoarse from crying. He even called Aunt Liu to get the child a water cup to feed her.

He had intended to take this opportunity to teach the little girl the importance of keeping her word; he had confirmed several times before leaving that she wasn't coming with him, and now she was crying and making a fuss. But seeing how excited she was, he thought it best to turn back and try again later.

"Daddy! An'an's snowman, isn't it pretty? Isn't it beautiful?" She then mimicked her grandmother taking pictures of her, twirling around with her phone in hand.

"Where's your snowman?" The little girl was holding the phone so close and short that Lu Junxing could see the snowman was practically pressed against the camera lens, a completely white expanse.

"This is it! Isn't it amazing! I'm so awesome!" An'an raised her chubby little hand, still wearing gloves, and pointed to the little snowman in front of her, completely forgetting that her dad couldn't see her at all.

Lu Jing, unable to bear it any longer, thought that the child would freeze if they kept nagging outside forever. So he took the phone from the child.

"Come, come, look at the snowman my An'an built! It has a nose and eyes, isn't she incredibly talented! She takes after me! The same skillful hands and imagination! Only my granddaughter is this amazing!"

As Lu Junxing packed his things, preparing to go back to the old house to pick up the person, he knew the old house was far away and the round trip would be very late. Just in case, he also brought some documents that needed to be processed.

Looking up, intending to admire the creation of this art form—after all, his father, Lu Jing, was a regular at major auctions, and his study was adorned with numerous masterpieces—he came across a "snowman" made of strawberries and carrots stuck on a snowball. Looking at the snowman's overly elaborate eyes and nose, Lu Junxing couldn't bring himself to praise it.

An'an, who was on this side, didn't understand why her dad hadn't seen it even though she had already shown it to everyone on her phone. But the little girl remembered what her grandma had said, "Grandma is old and her eyesight isn't very good. We need to take good care of her!"

"Hmph! Daddy, are you getting old? Like Great-Grandma, you can't see anymore?" The little girl immediately thought that Great-Grandma was old and that's why she couldn't see, but Daddy didn't have any wrinkles on his face, and his hair wasn't black, so Daddy wasn't old at all!

"Oh! Daddy, you're blind!" An'an was a little proud; how could she be so clever? "You're not old, you don't have gray hair~, I thought you were blind, hehe~"

"Waaah~, no! Waaah~, An'an doesn't want Daddy to be unable to see!"

Lu Junxing initially didn't want to pay attention to the little girl's "filial piety is terrible" statement, but hearing the intermittent crying coming from the other end, he thought she was indeed a troublemaker: "I think you're the one who's blind."

"Haha, An'an? Do you even know what that means?"
