Song Zhi's gaze fell on the car keys. After hesitating for a moment, she finally reached out and took them.

She muttered, "Okay then, I'll go downstairs and wait for you."

Fu Lu smiled and nodded: "Yes, go ahead."

Song Zhi glanced at her father cautiously out of the corner of her eye, only to find that he wasn't looking in her direction at all.

Left with no other choice, she silently moved aside and began to pack her things.

Then, she helped the old lady slowly walk out of the ward.

Just as they were about to step out of the room, Song Zhi suddenly stopped and did not immediately turn around and leave.

She tiptoed closer to the closed door, then gently pressed her ear against it, trying to hear what was being said inside.

Just then, the old lady, who had been silent all along, noticed Song Zhi's actions. She reached out and gently pulled her, saying softly, "Alright, Xiao Zhi, stop eavesdropping. Your father has his own reasons for asking you to leave here."

Upon hearing the old lady's words, Song Zhi straightened up, but a hint of dissatisfaction still involuntarily showed on her face.

She pouted and muttered, "Hmph, what good could he possibly want? He just keeps urging me to marry Fu Lu as soon as possible."

Upon hearing this, the old lady maintained her kind smile and asked, "Oh, what's wrong? Don't you really want to marry Fu Lu?"

When the old lady asked her this question, Song Zhi was stunned and didn't know how to answer it for a moment.

After a long while, she stammered, "Oh, Grandma, it's not that I'm unwilling, it's just that I don't want you all to seem so eager. Fu Lu will think I'm desperate to get married."

The old lady smiled broadly, her eyes full of affection, and said, "That boy, Xiao Fu, is so eager to marry you, how could he possibly think of you like that?"

Song Zhi looked at the old lady with a puzzled expression: "Did he tell you that?"

The old lady smiled indulgently: "Alright, stop overthinking. Let's go, stop eavesdropping."

Song Zhi hesitated: "But..."

Before he could finish speaking, the old lady interrupted him, saying, "No buts, didn't Xiao Fu tell us to wait for him in the car? Let's go."

Song Zhi glanced at the ward, but ultimately said nothing more. She simply nodded and helped the old lady slowly walk toward the elevator.

A dozen minutes later, Song Zhi finally saw Fu Lu walk out of the hospital building.

As soon as she got in the car, Song Zhi couldn't wait to ask, "Ninth Brother, what did my dad say to you?"

While fastening his seatbelt, Fu Lu said, "Nothing much? Just chatting."

With that, he drove the car onto the road.

Song Zhi was clearly not satisfied with the answer. She pouted and muttered a complaint, "Hmph, whatever, if you don't want to say, then forget it."

Fu Lu smiled helplessly and said nothing.

No one spoke the entire way.

Song Zhi leaned back in her chair, feeling a little nervous about going to Fu Lu's house later.

She glanced at the man who was focused on driving out of the corner of her eye, hesitated for a moment, and then whispered, "Ninth Brother, are we really going to your house?"

Fu Lu glanced at her sideways: "What's wrong?"

Song Zhi shook her head.

Fu Lu smiled and said, "Didn't we agree on this last night?"

Song Zhi lowered her eyes and stared at her knees, her hands resting on them unconsciously fidgeting with the hem of her clothes. She whispered, "But, but I haven't prepared a gift yet!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Fu Lu's lips curled up slightly, revealing a gentle smile, and he softly comforted her, "Don't worry, I've already prepared everything for you."

Upon hearing this, Song Zhi was taken aback at first, then a blush spread across her face, and she was momentarily at a loss for words.

Just then, Fu Lu slowly reached out and gently took Song Zhi's hand, their fingers intertwined.

He said softly, "Don't be so nervous. I'm here with you. My family isn't a tiger, so what's there to be afraid of?"

Feeling the warmth from Fu Lu's palm, Song Zhi's tense nerves relaxed a little, but she still nodded somewhat shyly and said in a low voice, "I'll change my clothes first. I stayed in the hospital last night and I smell of disinfectant all over my body."

"Hmm, no rush."

More than ten minutes later, the car slowly stopped in front of the apartment building. Fu Lu did not get out of the car, but said to Song Zhi, "Go upstairs with Grandma, I'll wait for you in the car."

Song Zhi nodded: "Okay!"

She opened the car door, jumped out, and went to the back seat to help the old lady out of the car.

After the old lady steadied herself, she looked into the car and saw that Fu Lu was still sitting steadily in the driver's seat. She then turned to Song Zhi curiously and asked, "Why isn't Xiao Fu getting out?"

Song Zhi quickly shook her head and explained, "He said he would wait for me in the car and wouldn't come up with us."

Upon hearing this, the old lady frowned and muttered, "How can that be? It's so boring to stay in the car alone. Come up and sit with us."

Upon hearing this, Song Zhi turned her head and looked at Fu Lu with a slightly expectant gaze, softly calling out, "Ninth Brother, why don't you come upstairs with us and sit for a while?"

Fu Lu tilted his head and looked at the old lady, smiling as he said, "Grandma, I won't go up. I'll just wait here for Zhizhi to come down."

When the old lady heard what Fu Lu said, she didn't say anything more.

Back home, the old lady asked curiously, "Where are you and Xiao Fu going?"

Song Zhi hesitated for a moment, then truthfully said, "Let's go to his house."

The old lady was taken aback for a moment, then smiled and said, "Okay, that's good."

Song Zhi was somewhat surprised, thinking that the old lady would not agree, but sure enough, she had already been bribed by Fu Lu.

The old lady continued with a smile, "Alright, hurry up and get ready. Xiao Fu is still waiting for you downstairs. Don't keep him waiting."

Song Zhi said speechlessly, "I know, Grandma, please don't rush me."

Song Zhi didn't dare to delay. She quickly got ready and went downstairs without even saying a word.

As soon as she got on the bus, she started rummaging through her bag for cosmetics and putting on makeup in front of the mirror.

Fu Lu glanced at it and asked, "Why didn't you finish drawing before coming down?"

"I was thinking you'd be waiting for me in the car, so it's the same as drawing in the car if you're not busy."

As she spoke, she picked up her lipstick to apply it.

Seeing this, Fu Lu reached out to stop him: "No need for lipstick, just lip balm will do."

Song Zhi asked, puzzled, "Why?"

Fu Lu didn't answer, but instead leaned in and kissed her lips: "You know now?"

Song Zhi blushed instantly and said coquettishly, "Let's drive away."

As she spoke, she put away the lipstick and found a new lip gloss.

On the way to the old house, Song Zhi was still a little nervous.

Her hands, resting on her knees, trembled slightly.

While waiting at a traffic light, Fu Lu, sitting in the driver's seat, seemed to notice something unusual about the person next to him.

He gently reached out his right hand and grasped Song Zhi's small hand, which was slightly cold due to excessive tension, and softly comforted her, "Don't be nervous, look, your palms are sweaty."
