Chapter 190 His Punishment

"No...no more...I don't want it anymore..."

Jiang Mian's face was flushed, and she was panting heavily.

She tried to crawl to the edge of the bed, but the man grabbed her ankle and dragged her back.

Jiang Mian gripped the bed sheet tightly with her fingers, but it was in vain.

Lu Bozhou's body had already leaned over her, his breath brushing against her ear.

A deep, magnetic voice, seductively pouring into your ears, asked, "Why run? Do you think you can escape?"

At the end of his words, there seemed to be a faint laugh.

But all Jiang Mian wanted to do was cry.

Later, Jiang Mian discovered that she seemed to have exposed herself in some way.

The man wouldn't expose her, nor would he say anything more.

Whether he discovered it or not is unknown.

But after that, Jiang Mian would be nailed to the bed by this man almost every night.

"Is this normal?" Jiang Mian bit her lip and looked at Song Xu intently.

Her lips were still red and swollen, and there were red marks behind her ears.

“It’s normal.” Song Xu looked at her and sighed softly. “He’s just a normal man.”

Song Xu placed the medicine bottle on the table. "Or are you planning to make him take the medicine again?"

Jiang Mian remained silent for a moment, then gently shook her head.

The bottle of medicine had been with Jiang Mian, and she brought it over today, originally intending to return it to Song Xu.

"I came here today to return the medicine to you. I feel that... Lu Bozhou should no longer need to take the medicine."

In recent days, Jiang Mian felt as if she had seen the most authentic Lu Bozhou.

Lu Bozhou is a man with emotions, flesh and blood, and responsiveness.

This is something she couldn't do in her previous life.

If the side effect is that she's constantly tossed and turned in bed, that's better than him possibly overdosing on his medication and ending up in the hospital again.

After leaving the hospital, Jiang Mian still went to see Gong Yan.

When Gong Yan saw her arrive, she raised an eyebrow. "I thought you weren't planning to come see me. What? So what if you don't want to divorce Lu Bozhou? Do you think I'm going to eat you alive? Last time you didn't want to divorce Lu Bozhou, and you ended up losing your life. All I could do was cry, didn't I?"

Upon hearing Gong Yan's words, Jiang Mian quickly went up to her and hugged her, "Don't be angry with me. I'm not avoiding you because I don't want to divorce him."

"Oh," Gong Yan responded, glancing at her sideways. "That's because he's still avoiding me because those 'marks' he left on you haven't faded yet."

Gong Yan smiled and said, "I'm a grown woman, would I laugh at you for something like this?"

Jiang Mian stared at her, "Why don't you look in the mirror and see what kind of expression you have on your face right now?"

Gong Yan raised her hand and touched herself, finding the corner of her mouth curved in a smile.

Gong Yan still had work to do, so Jiang Mian didn't make a fuss. She just sat on the chair next to her, leaning on her desk and watching her work.

When I got tired of watching, I would just doze off.

Gong Yan glanced sideways and saw that she was starting to doze off. After staring at her for a moment, she reached out and gently touched her face.

Jiang Mian was half asleep, only feeling that Gong Yan's hand was cool, soft, and fragrant.

Very comfortable.

She sighed softly, feeling even more sleepy.

Then they heard Gong Yan's low voice, "Forget it, if you really think he's a good person and want to be with him, then go for it. There's nothing to hide, and there's no need to avoid me."

"As long as you're doing well and you're happy, I'll never be angry," Gong Yan said softly.

Jiang Mian originally felt even more sleepy, but listening to Gong Yan's infinitely indulgent words made her more alert.

Suddenly, I became somewhat more awake.

"Yan Yan..." Jiang Mian called her softly.

"Okay." Gong Yan responded, and then said, "If you feel good about it, continue living like this. If you don't feel good about it, don't be afraid to tell me."

Jiang Mian leaned towards her and hugged Gong Yan's arm. "Sister Gong Yan, if things don't get better, let's be together. I have money, opening a law firm for you won't be a problem."

Gong Yan scoffed, "You're such a jerk. Don't you know I own 60% of this law firm? I could easily support two of you, and you're asking me to support you..."

Jiang Mian really didn't know. All she knew was that when she was still alive, Gong Yan was doing quite well at work. Although she was busy, she still had a promising future.

Unexpectedly, she now owns more than half of this large law firm.

Just then, a deep, magnetic male voice came from the doorway, "That's perfect, I've come to discuss some business with you."

Upon hearing this voice, both Gong Yan and Jiang Mian's expressions froze.

At the door, Lu Bozhou walked in, followed by Song Xun.

Seeing Jiang Mian's arm around Gong Yan's, Song Xun even smiled at Jiang Mian.

Jiang Mian bit her lip and released Gong Yan's arm.

"What are you all doing here?"

"I'll pick you up," Lu Bozhou replied, then glanced at Gong Yan. "Since you're already here, I might as well discuss some business with Lawyer Gong."

Gong Yan glanced at him and scoffed, "Do you think I care?"

“It can bring your law firm an extra few million in revenue each year, at the very least,” Lu Bozhou said calmly. “I know you hate seeing me, so I brought Song Xun along. If you’re interested, Song Xun can stay and talk to you.”

"I'm here to pick up my wife anyway," Lu Bozhou said calmly.

So much so that when this is mentioned...

Jiang Mian didn't immediately realize what Lu Bozhou was referring to her in those words.

After Gong Yan glanced at her sideways, she pondered for a moment and said, "Alright, then I'll talk to Assistant Song about it. You take your wife away; she'll only be a hindrance to people's work if she stays here."

Lu Bozhou raised an eyebrow, gestured to Song Xun, and then pulled Jiang Mian away.

Whether Gong Yan heard it or not is unknown, but Jiang Mian heard his whispered words, which sounded like he was talking to himself: "She's always been the one who delays people's work."

Jiang Mian was stunned for a moment, not having time to realize the deeper meaning behind those words. She quickly waved to Gong Yan and was then pulled away by Lu Bozhou.

He walked out of the law firm and got into his car.

Jiang Mian said softly, "I just came to take a look..."

She knew how insecure and guilty she was about to say that, so she decided not to explain any further.

Lu Bozhou clearly had no intention of asking any further questions.

He glanced at her sideways, his gaze sweeping meaningfully over the red marks behind her ears and on her neck.

That gaze made Jiang Mian shudder.

She could almost hear the thoughts in Lu Bozhou's eyes.

Jiang Mian felt her legs go weak just from that look!

"No, no way," Jiang Mian stammered.

Lu Bozhou chuckled softly, "What do you mean 'can't'? I haven't said anything yet."

“It just won’t work.” Jiang Mian looked at him. “I really can’t take it anymore.”
