When Yun Fuzhao went back to rest, something flashed through her mind, and in order to grasp that fragment, she immediately sat up.

That scene seemed to be the one she had seen before at Shenlu Mountain. Memories suddenly connected, and Yun Fuzhao knew something was wrong.

Could that meal have been the day Ping An ended up as food on the table? Did they completely break up on that day?

Because these are memories from Que Yu's mind, they are highly subjective. In this fragment of memory, Que Chi is clearly an accomplice.

But based on her understanding of Que Chi, he couldn't possibly be that kind of person. Besides, his attitude towards Que Yu is quite good right now.

He had no reason to do such a thing.

The dinner appointment was for tomorrow, and to avoid a repeat of that incident, Yun Fuzhao secretly took Jiaoyu out that very night.

She had been to Queyu's palace before, so it was not unfamiliar to her.

He usually rests in the small garden behind his bedroom.

Yun Fuzhao sneaked in silently, intending to kidnap Ping An first. The situation was rather urgent; it wouldn't be too late to explain to him after things calmed down.

However, after searching around with Jiaoyu, she couldn't find it anywhere.

"It shouldn't be..."

Just as she was wondering what was going on, the window next to her was opened, and Que Yu, dressed in loose white clothes, leaned against it and looked at her.

A smile played on his lips as he stared intently at Yun Fuzhao. "Sister-in-law, is your late-night visit an attempt to have an affair with me?"

"..."

He rarely wore white, but tonight he was dressed in all white, surrounded by a soft glow under the bright moonlight, like a god untouched by worldly affairs.

Of course, this is assuming that the sentences spoken don't come as a huge surprise.

Yun Fuzhao glared at him irritably, "You're always there during raids on prostitution."

Que Yu chuckled. Why not use the door? He chose to climb out the window. "What made you decide to come see me tonight?"

"Where is Ping An?"

When she mentioned those two words, she didn't notice that Que Yu's eyes flickered.

"You came all this way in the middle of the night just to look for it? Turns out you weren't here to see me." Que Yu wrapped her arms around Yun Fuzhao's waist. "That's really heartbreaking."

Yun Fuzhao had already seen through this guy's true nature and remained unmoved by his accusations. "Stop it, I have something very important to do."

After thinking for a moment, she decided to tell him, "I suspect that the Ghost King is going to take action against Ping An in order to sow discord between you two."

Que Yu didn't speak, his eyes fixed on her intently. After a long while, he suddenly laughed.

Yun Fuzhao was a little confused. "What are you laughing at? You don't think I'm joking with you, do you?"

"No." Que Yu shook his head and hugged her affectionately. "I've already hidden Ping An away."

"So fast," Yun Fuzhao suddenly looked up, "Wait, how did you know..."

A thought flashed through her mind, but she rejected it.

Wasn't Que Yu already killed by her?

Seemingly seeing through her thoughts, Que Yu did not intend to hide anything, "Yun Fuzhao, that sword really hurt."

A storm raged within him, and Yun Fuzhao's face was filled with disbelief. "You..."

"I did die, but I don't know why my consciousness didn't go to the underworld after death, but instead got trapped here."

Que Yu laughed, "But unfortunately, time here only stays before Ping An died. Before I became a Ghost King, I will never see you."

Yun Fuzhao was completely at a loss for words.

“So I was quite surprised to see you back then,” Que Yu said softly, her fingertips gently stroking her cheek. “For a moment, I thought I was hallucinating because I was lovesick.”

"If you have memories, then what about Que Chi?"

"He didn't."

Yun Fuzhao replied, "It's probably because it's his memory that he doesn't have the later memories."

“No wonder,” Que Yu feigned displeasure, “otherwise, how could she not be my fiancée? It turns out it was all just his imagination.”

You're no better than me, you know.

Since Que Yu has his memories, and he's so smart, he definitely won't let anything happen to Ping An.

Yun Fuzhao breathed a sigh of relief and attended the dinner party organized by the Ghost King as promised the next day.

Unlike previous banquets for guests, this one was clearly more like a family dinner, and the food was very simple.

Yun Fuzhao saw the Ghost King again. She wondered if it was just her imagination, but he seemed much more haggard.

It looks like an oil lamp whose flame is about to burn out.

Yun Fuzhao glanced at Que Yu subconsciously, humming a little tune in a good mood.

"Try it, I made it all." Que Chi thoughtfully served her some food.

"You did all of this? That's amazing. I didn't know you had this skill."

Que Chi was very pleased with her praise, "I know a lot more."

The Ghost King placed the meat from the very center—the kind of meat whose origin was unclear—into Que Yu's bowl, saying, "Quickly try your brother's cooking."

The meat used to be safe and sound, but now I don't know what Que Yu has replaced it with. Anyway, it doesn't look like pork.

"Thank you father."

Que Yu looked flattered and, under his gaze, ate the meat without hesitation, saying, "It's delicious, Father, you should try some too."

The father and son were putting food on each other's plates, a picture of filial piety.

Yun Fuzhao watched the two of them act quietly. As she watched, she became a little hungry and reached for her chopsticks to taste what kind of meat it was, but Que Yu stopped her.

"Sister-in-law, you can't eat this."

The Ghost King laughed at him, "Little Yu is so old, and still can't learn to share?"

Que Yu's eyes widened slightly, looking very innocent, but what she said was: "This is Father's Linfeng, you can't eat it."

Upon hearing this, both Que Chi and the Ghost King's expressions changed, with the latter immediately standing up, "What did you say?!"

Que Yu's eyes crinkled into a smile. "I said this is Father's spirit beast. Lin Feng, has Father forgotten its name?"

Perhaps driven mad with rage, the Ghost King's face turned ashen, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.

He instinctively reached out and touched it, his expression shifting rapidly. "You poisoned it?!"

"Yes. It's the poison that could kill Father silently."

Que Chi still seemed completely oblivious. "Xiao Yu, are you crazy?"

Yun Fuzhao pulled him back, "You should say less."

"Madness? What do you mean by madness? I'm just giving him a taste of his own medicine." Que Yu approached the Ghost King and gave him a gentle push, causing him to collapse like a mountain.

Que Yu ruthlessly stomped on his chest, "Didn't you want to treat Ping An like this? I'm just returning everything you've done, Father."

The Ghost King's eyes widened, and he roared in anger, but he couldn't utter a complete sentence.

She could only look at him with anger and resentment.

"Father, rest assured. I will take over the position of Ghost King." Que Yu exuded joy. "I will do a hundred times better than you."

The poison took effect quickly; within minutes, the Ghost King's face turned ashen, and he soon stopped breathing.

Upon the death of the Ghost King, the Ghost Realm immediately supported Que Yu as its new ruler. In the Ghost Realm, being able to kill the previous ruler is a symbol of power.

However, Que Yu did not take up the position but instead gave it to Que Chi.

At first, Que Chi thought he had some kind of conspiracy, but after being tied up with official duties for several nights and not seeing Yun Fuzhao for five days, he realized what the kid's intentions were.

He was so angry he wanted to bite the bullet, but he was powerless to do anything about it.

Que Yu, on the other hand, stayed by Yun Fuzhao's side at all times.

“Yun Fuzhao,” Que Yu said, playing with her hair, “come visit me more often in the future.”

Yun Fuzhao: "Okay."

"You're being so obedient, it's not like you at all. Or is it that you actually want to see me?"

Yun Fuzhao: "..."

Que Yu let out a muffled chuckle, then blinked, "Don't leave tonight, okay?"

"It's a beautiful thought."

Que Chi burst in and pulled Yun Fuzhao into his arms, saying, "She's going to stay with me tonight."

Holding onto the two of them, Yun Fuzhao feigned shyness: "Please stop fighting! Don't fight for me!"

Two people: "..."

Que Yu: "Your wife."

Que Chi: "Your wife."

Yun Fuzhao: "?"

She's had a very hard life.
