The socially awkward villain's furry superpower
Chapter 87 Iron Chains
Louis was unsure how he should feel.
That morning went fairly well; he joked around with his friends, played games together, and even chatted with Tim's pretty sister. It was a pretty good day.
After "Superpower Day," his life began to improve. He no longer had to put up with that jerk of a stepfather, and he would no longer be bullied by others.
Having superpowers feels amazing, not just amazing, it's intoxicating.
He was tall and broad-shouldered, and worked out regularly. He had originally planned to find a physically demanding job, something honest and simple. But now he wasn't so sure about it.
So, he had a pretty pleasant day. Maybe he'll have to be more responsible for things like his superpowers in the future, but for now, money is flowing in steadily.
He made new friends and reconciled with old ones. Girls who used to ignore him in high school now approach him and talk to him, and he can get whatever he wants.
So, he's getting a bit arrogant right now. But that's okay, who wouldn't act like that after gaining superpowers? He can always be a nice guy from now on.
After all, he's a hero.

Now here's the problem. Why are there so many strange girls and children at this new place he frequents?
"You know what? Fine. I'm not surrendering, understand? You bunch of brats and little brats might as well get lost, okay?" he said to the girl in the suit.
She's definitely wearing a mask (to hide her identity), there's no mark on her head, but that doesn't matter, she hides her identity herself, which is wiser.
He had been in several fights both inside and outside of school, and knew how to defend himself in a fight. He didn't have much time to learn martial arts or anything like that, but he still had a good eye for people.
The girl stood there, her feet firmly planted, as if she were deliberately provoking him to come over and beat her up.
Who does she think she is?
“No,” the “leader” said.
Louis licked his lips, hesitating for a moment. There were quite a few of them. And those children were all wearing masks. The situation was unfavorable, but they were just children after all.
Besides, he's a hero. Heroes don't just let themselves be bullied; heroes are the ones in control.
What do they call that kind of dog on TV that can control the others? An alpha wolf? That's what he's like.
He manipulated the chains and could feel that there were still some chains scattered around the room, stretching out and rising from the hidden corners he had previously placed there.
Chains hurt when they hit someone; they have the flexibility of rope, yet the weight of a hammer. He turned his head left and right, his neck cracking. "Alright then," he said.
Louis took a step forward.
Then, the girl right in front of him roared.
It was strange; it was the sound of children playing around. "Get out of here," he said.
She roared even louder, and then she turned into a bear.
“Ah, no way, I’m not doing that,” Jean said. “I’m going back to my car, bro. What about you? Uh, you can handle these guys, okay?”
"Coward." Louis didn't even bother to curse him, and just watched him run away.
“You think I’ll be scared if you turn into a bear?” he asked.
“That would be the wise thing to do,” said the girl in the suit.
“I would never refrain from doing something just because it’s wise,” he retorted.
He wasn't quite sure if his words conveyed what he wanted to say, but tone was key.
The bear roared again and charged.
He discovered that the bear was quite fast.
However, the chains are faster.
Louis rolled away to avoid the bear's charge, but also took the opportunity to set a trap. The bear's roar turned into a surprised... well, still a roar, but one filled with confusion, as if it had choked up.
The thick iron chain he usually wore around his waist spun out and wrapped around the bear's thick neck, then tightened. The metal links clanged against each other, making a loud clattering sound, which he now quite enjoyed.
Louis got up from the tumble, ducked sharply to avoid a large, brown object flying overhead that crashed to the ground behind him with a loud thud.
Is it a box?
He looked up and saw a child on the second floor grinning at him. The child then lifted a box above his head and threw it down at him.
Louis dodged to the side, simultaneously throwing out a smaller iron chain that flew towards her like a meteor hammer.
The chains lashed her chest and then wrapped around her arms; she screamed in protest. Another one taken care of.
“You shouldn’t have messed with me,” Louis said. “I’ve already taken down two of you.”
He grinned at the girl in the old-fashioned gangster clothes, then smiled at the tall, dark-skinned girl behind her holding a baseball bat, which suited his taste.
“Sorry, but I’ll have to tie you all up,” he said.
“Let go of Teddy,” the “leader” said. Her voice was low, not a roar, but even lower than before, the kind of serious tone his mother would use when she was really angry. “That way I won’t have to hurt you.”
Louis shifted his body slightly.
"No, you started this fight, boss. I just want you to know your place."
He began to walk toward her, and at the same time, chains rose from behind chests and crates throughout the room. Several chains flew toward him, wrapping around his forearms, torso, and even his head.
"Position switching, Teddy."
Suddenly, the bear appeared in front of him, and his heavy iron chains clanged together, but they didn't entangle anything.
"Oh." He had barely uttered a word when the bear swung its paw at him.
Louis was thrown violently, but he used the chains to cushion the impact of the fall and barely managed to regain his footing. "Fine, you want to play dirty, huh?!"
The bear chuckled softly. "Athena, you said he was yours to deal with." Its voice sounded like the roar of an old motorcycle starting up.
"That's right, he's mine now."
Louis looked around. He knew there were a few other children in the room, but he hadn't really noticed where they were before.
He glanced back and saw a girl in a black and white striped shirt with a fluffy tail trailing behind her. Wasn't she the one he had just chained up?
But something's not right. He could feel that there was someone still wrapped around the chain above him, and that person was struggling desperately to break free.
Louis caught a glimpse of movement out of the corner of his eye, turned his head sharply, and swung an iron chain at the moving object.
The old television on the crate was struck by his chain and exploded instantly. The cartoon animals on the screen screamed, and the television crackled for a while before going silent.
Louis refocused; he couldn't just keep swinging the chains around recklessly. He had to be careful. A few scrapes were nothing, even a broken bone or two wouldn't matter, but a hero couldn't kill. That's what made his superpower so powerful.
"This is your last chance," the "boss" said.
He squinted and stared at her.
It feels like she's really far away, but she hasn't moved at all, right?
He shook his head. The room seemed... no, not spinning. He didn't think he was drunk or on drugs. But it wasn't his imagination; the shadows around him were growing heavier.
He felt his heart pounding, the sound so loud that even the clanging of the chains couldn't drown it out.
A girl laughed. He didn't know which girl it was. Were all the girls laughing? But it seemed like only one person was laughing.
"Hey!"
He looked up, then suddenly looked down as a box came crashing down on him.
An iron chain stopped the box just in time, pushing it aside. Then, something small and fast slammed into the back of his leg, causing him to stumble forward, and then... he crashed right into the bear.
He'd completely forgotten about the bear!
The bear slapped him in the chest, but his chains blocked the blow. Then he screamed as the bear opened its blood-red maw, trying to swallow his head whole.
The iron chain wrapped around his face suddenly stretched forward, wrapping around the bear's head like a net, and forcefully pulled it back, creating distance.
Another kick landed on the back of his leg, this time right in the back of his knee. He caught a glimpse of black and white stripes and a smiling face, then fell to the ground.
Then, the pretty girl with the baseball bat pinned him down.
When did she go from cute to so scary?
She grinned. "I've always wanted to do this." As she spoke, she raised her baseball bat.
