The socially awkward villain's furry superpower
Chapter 35 Rules
Every time Teddy appears, a gentle breeze wafts through the room, eventually coalescing into the shape of the young Haki Bear.
This time is no exception.
The air flickered and twisted, and Sienna instinctively raised her arm to shield her face. A moment later, with a soft gasp, another person suddenly appeared in the room.
[Skill: Create sisters, success!]
“Hi,” Teddy said.
Sienna lowered her arm; the gust of wind came and went quickly. She looked at the sister she had just summoned.
【Isabella】
[Owl's Eye, Level 1]
The girl was slightly taller than Teddy, about half a head taller.
Even so, she was still considerably shorter than Sienna, despite having a head of fluffy white and brown hair.
She wore a pair of large, round-framed glasses on her small nose, behind which were a pair of large, almost yellowish eyes.
However, her hair and eyes were the only unusual features; otherwise, the girl looked quite ordinary.
She had very fair skin, wore a white jacket with feather-like fur trim on the collar and cuffs, and a pair of very ordinary Mary Jane shoes.
The girl shifted slightly, her shoes clicking together, her hands hanging at her sides. "Nice to meet you."
“Uh, hello,” Sienna replied.
"What kind of girl are you?" Teddy asked. "I don't know any predators like you."
The girl tilted her head back, gave a slightly arrogant snort, and turned her head away from Teddy. "I need to let you know that I am a proud snowy owl."
I'm definitely a predator. And who are you?
“Owls are much smaller than bears,” Teddy said. “And bears are apex predators because we eat everything. Besides, I was the first sister to be summoned, so you need to know the hierarchy.”
“Who cares about who came first or last,” she said. “What matters is what the eldest sister thinks.”
“Ah,” Sienna said, completely unsure how to get along with the new girl, or more precisely, how to get along with any stranger.
The slight tension between her and Teddy didn't do anything good.
"Um, Teddy, be friendly, your new... sister just arrived."
Also, please be nicer to Teddy. I'm sure she can teach you a lot.
The girl nodded. "I can do it."
“You should call her boss,” Teddy emphasized. “Hurry up, so we can all go to sleep.”
“Uh,” Sienna said, as the girl stared at her. Her eyes were indeed quite large, and it wasn’t just the glasses that made them appear so.
While it's not so big as to seem strange, it is indeed... quite large.
"Perhaps we should get to know each other a little better first?" Sienna asked tentatively.
“I’d love to get to know you better… boss?” The girl said the last word as a question.
“Yes, she’s the boss,” Teddy confirmed.
“No—no, you can call me Sienna. You can call me that when we’re not here, well, when I’m not wearing that outfit,” Sienna said.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Sister Sienna,” the girl said, nodding.
“Great! Hmm… Teddy, why don’t you introduce yourself first?” Sienna happily pushed Teddy forward to be the one to take the lead.
Teddy crossed his arms. "My name is Theodora, but the boss calls me Teddy because it's cuter, and teddy bears are scary, so it sounds more imposing."
I'm a bit of a bear girl. I like communism and helping my boss, but I don't like it when people don't share. I like fish and other foods, and I also like sleeping.
“Um—I’m Sienna Isabella. I’m a student here studying English literature and history, and I…I’m not quite sure what I want to do in the future.”
I like... well, looking at cute animals and spending the night quietly at home.
The new girl made a sound of interest upon hearing this, a sound that was somewhat like a faint whistle mixed with the call of an owl.
"It's quite interesting, I like it... I'm not quite sure what I like yet. But I think I'll enjoy pursuing further studies and learning many new things."
"That's great! I'm sure we can go to places like the library."
The girl nodded. "Now that you know my preferences, will you give me a name?"
"I, uh—uh..."
Sienna looked around. They had food to eat, and nothing else to distract themselves from.
"Well, I don't want to give you a bad name. So, please tell me your thoughts, or what name you'd like to be called?"
The girl snorted and adjusted her glasses. "I don't know. Maybe I'll choose a name that reflects my extraordinary wisdom."
“Uh,” Sienna said, thinking that names related to owls seemed a little strange for girls.
"Perhaps like... Alex? Taken from the Library of Alexandria."
"This name is pretty good," the girl said, but she was still a little hesitant.
"Or, how about calling her Athena?"
She blinked slowly. "Like the goddess of wisdom?"
"Yes, I think this name is great."
“I’ll call you Tina,” Teddy said.
“You’re not allowed to call me that,” said the girl who had just been named Athena.
Sienna shifted her position. "We do need a name we use normally. It's not that I'm planning to do those weird costume things again."
Athena tilted her head to one side. "Okay. At home, I'll call you Tina, and when I'm dressed up, I'll call you Athena. That makes perfect sense."
"Then let's call her Tina."
She smiled slightly, relieved to see that the one she had summoned was at least basically normal.
She is a little... just a tiny bit arrogant, but she seems like a nice person.
"So, are you hungry?"
Sienna pointed to the lunchboxes and asked, “We can eat while we listen… to Teddy tell us what happened before.”
As a result, the seating arrangement had to be rearranged.
Sienna has a small stool and her comfortable chair, but that leaves one person without a place to sit.
She didn't have a box sturdy enough for someone to sit on, and the bedside table was too heavy to move.
Teddy and Athena, being the two smallest, ended up squeezing into Sienna's chair, while Sienna sat on a stool, dividing the meal originally intended for two into three portions.
"For you guys."
"Thank you, Sienna."
As Athena spoke, she pulled the top half of one of the foam lunch boxes toward herself.
"Well, uh... I'll take a look at your attributes while Teddy's talking, you don't mind, do you?"
"Of course I don't mind! I'm sure you'll be amazed by my abilities!"
Sienna smiled at her, and then Teddy began to vividly recount what had happened.
Interspersed among the comments were some about capitalists, and Sienna couldn't quite remember what had happened, but she didn't pay much attention to them.
"Check Athena's status."
Name: Athena Isabella
[Faction: Villain]
[Level: Level 1]
[Superpower: Owl Eyes]
[Lone Owl, Level 1]
[Ability Slots: 0]
Skill upgrade attempts: 0
Skill Slots: 0
This is quite similar to Teddy's initial state, at least that's how it was when Sienna first checked Teddy's condition. Even the awful puns are in the same style. If you need evidence that this system is cruel, this is it.
"Check the status of the solitary owl."
Solitary Owl
[Owl's Eye, Level 1]
[This allows users to gradually instill doubt, suspicion, and paranoia in those around them.]
No cooldown time
Sienna looked to the side, her gaze falling on Athena, who was carefully cutting her food and eating it in small bites.
This ability seems... rather ominous.
However, Teddy's abilities are quite dangerous, so we can't be prejudiced against our sisters because of that.
Sienna hopes so.
