The socially awkward villain's furry superpower

Chapter 206 I Don't Want to Do This

Sienna still didn't want to do it. At this moment, she was fully awake, so she was throwing herself into the situation with a clear mind, and in terms of all aspects, she had as much information as possible.

But she still really didn't want to get involved in this matter.

But she's here now, not lying in bed, and she's already woken up her sisters, dressed them, and brought them here. Most of the work is done. Everyone is excited and ready. Even the usually reserved Maple Leaf is holding her toaster cannon to her chest, gently bouncing it up and down like she's soothing a baby.

Supergirl and Alejandro Ikta stood a short distance apart, but kept a certain distance from each other. Sienna wondered if there was something between them, but then thought that if there was, she was definitely not the right person to handle this kind of thing.

“Alright,” she said. Seeing that Trinity and Teddy weren’t paying much attention, she raised her voice, “Alright, everyone listen. We roughly know where Rattlesnake is. But now… it’s almost five in the morning. We can’t operate stealthily like we do during the day.”

"You guys are still sneaking around during the day?" Charismatic Superwoman asked.

Sienna ignored the interruption. "So, the plan is... to lure Rattlesnake to where we want him to be, and then ambush him. Charmgirl and Maple, you two are currently the only ones on our team with ranged attack capabilities. Ideally, we should incapacitate him as much as possible, and also confuse him."

“I… I can do it,” Maple Leaf said.

Sienna nodded, then pulled a small device from her pocket. It was the second, and better, shock-absorbing device Maple had given her. It shared the same limitations as the first; it might not completely stop Rattlesnake's abilities, but it would certainly interfere with them to some extent, which was perhaps what they needed. This device was also more robust and could withstand a certain amount of impact. This time, Rattlesnake wouldn't be able to escape so easily.

"Ursa Minor, Bandit, you two are responsible for subduing him."

Teddy gave her a thumbs up, and Trinity immediately followed with six thumbs up. "No problem, boss."

“Aleya Ikta, I’m going to make him pay dearly,” Sienna continued. “Once Bandit and Ursa Minor have him pinned down, you’ll have to give him a nudge, right?”

“He already sounds unlucky enough,” Aleja Iqta said.

"Can you really absorb his luck?" Sienna asked. She wasn't even in the mood for casual conversation.

Aleja Iqta straightened up a bit. “Uh, okay, I can do it,” he said.

“Very good,” Sienna said. She had a plan. It wasn’t a brilliant one, but at least it gave her a direction. “Owl Watcher, you’re with me. If you can manage, I need to know what he’s thinking.”

"Can she read minds?" Charm Girl asked, pointing at Athena.

"Do you want me to reveal your deepest secret?" Athena asked.

“She can sense emotions,” Sienna said. “And she can instill fear in people. In any case, our main goal is to subdue Rattlesnake as soon as possible and prevent him from using his abilities. We can’t drag this out for too long. Once we have him trapped, Melatonin will be able to help.”

"What are her skills?" Aleya Iqta asked.

The glamorous Superwoman leaned closer to him and said, "She can put people to sleep."

"Oh. She teaches math? I feel like I have a teacher who's good at that."

Sienna cleared her throat. She had intended to scold Aleia Ikta, but he had made her sisters laugh and even brought a smile to Charm Girl's face. She wished she could joke like him. Not just because it would ease the tension, but... well, the last time she had told a joke in public was back in high school, when she had mustered all her courage to say it.

Except for one other girl, no one heard her joke, so the girl repeated it loudly, which made everyone burst into laughter. From then on, Sienna never told a joke again. Anyway, she wasn't good at telling jokes to begin with.

“Okay,” Sienna said, trying to get things back on track. “Let’s focus. Once we have him under control, we need to keep him immobilized. Melatonin is good at this, but she might not be able to help. I don’t think the ropes are working on him. So… uh, this is going to be a little tricky.”

"Should we call HRF?" Charm Girl asked.

“I haven’t called it yet,” Sienna admitted. “But that’s right. If we catch him, we’ll hand him over to them. Hopefully, they can keep him unconscious?” The last question was directed at Charm Girl.

She nodded. "Yes. We've received training in this area. Not much, but it's nothing. Those team members have things that can take down the masked villains. They also have nitrous oxide canisters. Small doses won't be fatal, but they can immediately incapacitate most people."

Sienna was unaware of all this, and the mere thought made her uneasy. However, seeing "Rattlesnake" completely disoriented wouldn't be bad. "Understood," she said, noting the information down for later use. She looked at the group she had assembled. Her sisters, and two... friends, I suppose. The group felt both powerful and somewhat weak. "Let's go," she said.

“I’ll go scout ahead!” Trinity said. Her two clones stretched out their arms to the sides, then tilted slightly back. “Ninja Mode.” With that, they ran off.

Sienna is considering drastically reducing her sister's television viewing time.

The one remaining Trinity stayed with her, while the other clones dashed across the parking lot. "Okay. Try to be quiet and not get spotted," Sienna said. Unfortunately, Trinity's black and white outfit wasn't ideal for stealth. She'd be quite conspicuous.

“We roughly know where he is, right?” Charm Girl asked.

Sienna nodded. He certainly hadn't parked in the parking lot of "Im Orton" coffee shop. "He should be over there. I think we can head towards him now. It's better to act now than to have to run there later."

They began to move. Slow but determined, they crossed the parking lot and climbed over a bent fence behind it, wide enough for a person to crawl under. Sienna and Aleja Ikta's phones both had flashlights, so they lit their way. Maple Leaf also had a flashlight, but Sienna didn't want to alert "Rattlesnake" and everyone else in the area.

The faint light from the cell phone was almost useless, but her sisters mostly encountered no problems. Athena's eyes shone like two enormous, luminous discs in the darkness, while Trinity blended remarkably well into the shadows. Maple Leaf, like Sienna, had difficulty seeing clearly and mostly held Sienna's hand tightly.

“I think I’ve found him,” Trinity said.

They walked along alleyways and several side streets behind the main multi-lane highway that ran through the city, mostly lined with shops. Sienna wasn't quite sure, but she felt they were pretty close to the café where they did business. It was hard to say. Auclere felt like a different world at night.

“Where did you see him?” Sienna asked.

“He was sitting on the bus bench, looking very frustrated,” Trinity said.

Sienna blinked, taking a moment to process the information. "Are you sure?"

“Yeah. It looks like him. He’s wearing a leather jacket, a cool mask, and his hair is really stylish,” Trinity said. “I think he’s drinking beer.”

“That does sound a bit frustrating,” said Charm Girl.

"This guy's in a bad mood, huh?" Aleya Ikta said. "Is he even alone?"

“It looks like it. There’s a small bicycle nearby. Uh, the kind that’s not a motorcycle?” Trinity said.

"Is it a small motorcycle?" Charm Girl asked.

Trinity shrugged.

"Is he in an open-air spot? Is it close to the café?" Sienna asked. She didn't care about just any little motorcycle.

“Yes. He’s just a little way from the coffee shop. There’s an alley nearby. It shouldn’t be hard for us to sneak up on him,” Trinity said. She gestured in the air, “We just go this way, then around, into the alley, then out, and we’re all set!”

Sienna really wanted to see "Rattlesnake" taken care of, and she wouldn't mind ambushing him.

“Okay, could you lead us to the end of the alley? Everyone, please be quiet, okay? We might have to turn off our flashlights.” There were streetlights, so the situation wasn’t too bad, and many of the apartment buildings they passed had a few lights on, which was enough to provide some illumination.

As they circled around, the air was fresh and cool. Trinity kept reporting to Sienna. "Rattlesnake" glanced at his phone. He took another sip of his drink. He lifted his mask and picked his nose. Most of the information was useless, but knowing Trinity was keeping an eye on things was good enough.

They reached the end of the alley. Sienna looked at her teammates. Her heart was pounding, but if all went well, this would be the end of her battle with "Rattlesnake." In that moment, she would unwittingly become O'Clair's only true villain.

“Okay,” she said. “Bandit, could you send one of your clones to lure him into the alley? The rest of you… get ready. Be quick and ruthless. We need to finish this quickly, before he has a chance to react.”
