Kevin kicked over Charlotte's (motorcycle's) support frame and tilted the motorcycle to one side as he got off.

He parked his car in a narrow alley between two buildings in the city center.

Kevin grunted laboriously and took two bags from Charlotte's back seat.

One of the bags was slightly opened, revealing several twenty-dollar bills.

He adjusted the bag, making sure the zipper was closed, and then walked deeper into the alley.

He wanted to take all the cash home, but that would have been foolish.

His previous encounter with Fabian had taught him a lesson. He didn't want the police to be able to find his new residence directly because of some kind of tracking device.

So he walked to a manhole cover, opened it, and looked at the sewage flowing below.

A duffel bag was already placed next to him. He pulled the bag closer and then quickly and efficiently transferred the money over, one bill at a time.

After finishing, he searched through the cash, looking for anything that could allow anyone to trace him. Just in case, he took out a large magnet and rubbed it against some of the banknotes to see if there were any metal objects, but he found nothing.

He shrugged, threw both bags down the drain, and watched them float away.

Mission accomplished, Kevin stood up, made sure the duffel bag was closed, then picked it up and slung it over his shoulder. He then returned to Charlotte, casually pushed the car out from the other end of the alley, and drove towards his new home.

In fact, he changed motels yesterday, packed all his belongings into his bag, and moved to a motel on the other side of Eau Claire, closer to the city center.

This time he paid for the room in cash and registered using the ID card of a middle-aged man he had obtained a few days earlier.

He didn't want others to find him easily, and moving was one of the steps he took.

More importantly, it's closer to downtown Eau Claire.

This means it's shorter to walk to several restaurants and places he wants to go, and... well, this place is better too.

Although it's not a five-star hotel, the hot water in the shower lasts longer, the cable TV package is better, and the room is larger.

Of course, the price was almost double, but he wasn't sure if he had made several thousand dollars today. Even if he splurged a little, the money would probably be enough for him to live comfortably for a few months.

This can make up for his lack of stable employment.

Upon arriving at the motel, he parked Charlotte at the entrance, checked to make sure the car was alright (he would soon need to change the oil and maybe wash it), and then walked into the motel while fumbling for his keys.

He threw his duffel bag onto the bed, then leaped backward, landing heavily on the bed with a "whoosh."

Today was very fruitful. The preparation for the robbery took longer than the robbery itself, but it was all worth it.

The guards on the armored truck were completely unprepared and at a loss when they saw a masked man appear.

It was as easy as taking candy from a baby, except that the "baby" was an overweight middle-aged man who was so scared that his knees trembled.

Then those heroes appeared.

Kevin squinted. He hadn't expected to have to teach a few brats a lesson today. And that damned bear. Where did that thing even come from?

He sat up in bed, kicking off his boots as he moved backward. He grabbed the remote from the bedside table and turned on the TV.

Immediately, the room was filled with exaggerated screams from a cartoon; a noisy children's program had begun. Right, he'd been watching cartoons last night when he was bored.

He switched to the menu, scrolled up, found a local news channel, and clicked on it.

A female reporter wearing a beautiful dress appeared on the screen, with crow's feet around her eyes.

"...Seventh and Fifth Streets will be closed for the remainder of today. Officials from the Human Resources Force (HRF) did not disclose when the roads would reopen, but they assured us it would be soon. Road maintenance personnel are already on site."

The camera cuts to the street where he had earlier caused trouble. He notices that the armored truck has been moved.

Further into the scene, it was being towed behind a trailer truck. Several police cars remained at the scene, but it seemed the commotion had subsided.

Then the channel started playing commercials, and Kevin rolled his eyes. "The same old thing," he muttered.

He took the opportunity to take off his coat, hung it on the hook by the door, and then found some chicken nuggets in the small refrigerator in the room and threw them into the microwave.

Just as the microwave went off, the news started reporting on the incident again.

He felt his little trick was the most exciting thing he'd done in a decade, and they were reporting on it relentlessly. O'Clair was unusually quiet.

However, the report then turned to an interview with a hero he vaguely recognized: Silver Fox, the guy with the same voice he heard in shampoo commercials.

He smiled, his gaze shifting between the camera and the young reporter standing next to him.

"Mr. Silver Fox, could you tell us what happened today?"

He nodded. “It was an unfortunate incident, but it ended well.” He said, “That rude scoundrel Rattles showed up and ambushed an armored truck.”

He managed to break into the car, but a group of brave local heroes appeared in time and scared him away.

"What!" Kevin yelled, "You lying bastard, I wasn't scared away!"

"Which heroes saved the day?" the reporter asked.

"It's the Boss, Bandit, Owlwatch, Ursa Minor, and their new partner whose identity hasn't been revealed yet."

I guess she hasn't had a chance to make her official appearance yet. Working together, they successfully held off Ruttles until the Hostage Rescue Team (HRT) arrived.

Unfortunately, the villain escaped near the end of the conflict. We hope the kind citizens of O'Clair will keep a close watch in case he reappears.

Kevin scoffed. He couldn't recall seeing a single human resources hero on the scene.

If the boss and her little brats don't count as members, and he only heard the sirens four blocks away.

Silver Fox is distorting the facts to make himself look powerful without completely lying.

"Calling myself a fox is really not wrong," he muttered to himself.

The report continued, adding some videos shot on mobile phones as supplementary material, as shaky camera shots are always popular.

He genuinely enjoyed seeing himself on screen; it satisfied his vanity. He noticed something.

Looking up from the waist, his clothes are not bad, but his jeans are a bit conspicuous.

Perhaps he could buy a darker pair of trousers and pair them with leather trousers that match his other leather clothing?

He has the money to buy these now.

Then the fight scene played, and he unconsciously leaned forward to watch more closely.

One girl turned into a bear. Yes, so it really is a girl. And there's the one with three bodies.

Or perhaps three clones?

When he hit one of them, she disappeared, but reappeared in the distance.

Finally, the bear was also teleported to another location.

So there must be some trickery involved.

He couldn't say much about the other three. The one in the white coat might be an inventive genius, but he didn't see her take out any weapons or strange gadgets.

No threat? Is she even a superhero? He ruled her out.

Another angle of the shot shows the tall girl in the fedora talking to the silver fox. Although it's impossible to hear what they're saying, she seems to have frightened the old man a bit.

And she was quite sexy. Kevin had to admit, he liked women in suits.

He wasn't sure what her abilities were, but she didn't seem that impressive.

He wanted to ignore the little girl in the leather jacket, but during the fight, he made eye contact with her once... There was something about her that worried him.

Is she the kind of hero whose abilities are too deadly?

This happens frequently. Some people have abilities like "exploding their bodies instantly," to the point that they have to hold back in any real confrontation, ultimately rendering them useless.

He will make plans based on this.

Perhaps this is his next move? The next step in his grand plan?

He now has enough money to live comfortably for a while.

Why not use this time to instill fear of the local heroes in Luttels?

"Let's see if they'll still call me an rude scoundrel."
