The socially awkward villain's furry superpower

Chapter 161 Encounter on a narrow road

The villains were only a few blocks away, but that meant they had to run at full speed down the entire street.

Sienna was already panting heavily before she even reached the nearest intersection.

Clearly, her sisters possess the boundless energy typical of children, and they feel no pressure at all when they are around her.

Sienna glanced back and frowned. Her henchmen had spread out behind her.

Only Liam and Sam could keep up with her. Liam didn't even break a sweat; judging from his appearance, he was clearly an athlete.

The others didn't have it so easy.

She felt that they were exercising at a similar level to college students her age, except that they didn't have that special "advantage"—like her, who always had to chase after a bunch of kids to make up for the lack of aerobic exercise.

However, she felt she could have performed better and secretly decided that she would find time to go to the gym to work out no matter what.

In addition, she had to start carrying deodorant with her at all times. She didn't carry a bag when she was in her uniform; the only things she could hold were the few narrow pockets on her uniform, which couldn't hold much.

At this moment, she could feel her back starting to sweat, knowing that she would have to wash her uniform again.

She also realized that she was distracting herself and avoiding the upcoming battle.

She slowed down, turning her run into a jog, and finally stopped, panting.

Sienna wanted to call her sisters, but she was too weak, so she could only snap her fingers a few times quickly, as if calling a puppy.

This trick worked, and the younger sisters slowed down.

She didn't want to appear weak in front of her henchmen, so she suppressed the urge to lean over and catch her breath, instead taking deep breaths in the air, hoping her face wouldn't turn so red.

“Trinity, one of you run ahead and check the situation, then come back and tell me,” she said. “But be careful to stay hidden!”

"Understood!" Trinity quickly gave a somewhat awkward salute, then crossed the road without even looking to either side, nearly making Sienna cry out in surprise.

Somehow, she managed to run safely to the other side of the road, but Sienna decided she had to go back and have a good talk with Trinity... and say it again.

“Girls, stick close together. We don’t know what this guy can do… do we?” Sienna turned to look at Sam, who stopped beside her and grinned.

“I don’t know much about him,” Sam admitted. “But he calls himself ‘Rattlesnake,’ and I’ve heard he can make things vibrate violently. Basically, don’t get too close to him.”

“Okay,” Sienna said. “Athena, attack him with anything you can get your hands on. Maple, do you have any ranged attacks?”

“I forgot my toaster at home,” Maple muttered.

"It's okay, we...we'll figure something out. Trinity, Teddy, be careful when you get close to him, okay?"

“Okay, no problem, boss,” Teddy said.

Sienna swallowed hard; her heart was still racing, but it had calmed down somewhat. "Okay. Sam, could you get the henchmen to stay back? I don't think anyone really wants to get involved in the fight."

“Okay, we’ll stay far away,” Sam said. “Also, boss, I’m ‘Red the Minion’ today.”

“Oh,” Sienna said. “Yes, I’m sorry.” She tried to make an excuse that she was too busy to explain.

"I'll keep everyone safe, don't worry." Sam gave a thumbs up and winked.

The others caught up by then, but Sienna had already roughly figured out the battle plan and really didn't want to awkwardly explain it to her new henchmen. "I'll leave it to you," Sienna said, then took her sisters' hands and turned to cross the street.

At the next intersection, they crossed another street, and that's when Trinity spoke up.

"Ah, okay, my clone in front of me saw what happened. A big brown truck is overturned on its side, and a group of security guards have all been knocked unconscious. The villain is there too."

He kept walking back and forth between a nearby alley and the truck, taking all the money.

Sienna frowned. "Are there any police?"

“No!” Trinity said. “Some people have hidden themselves, and there are still a lot of cars parked there.”

So, they also had to deal with a crowd of onlookers. Sienna disliked this situation at all, but there was nothing she could do about it.

At the next intersection, she made sure her sisters were wearing their masks, then patted her cheeks and tried to muster her courage.

Things progressed so quickly, which actually helped her, leaving her no time to reconsider her decision.

"Let's go."

Sienna led her sisters, who had scattered around her, around the street corner.

This is a relatively small street with only two lanes and wide sidewalks on both sides.

There are a few shops nearby, but most of the buildings here are residential, interspersed with a few notary offices and barbershops.

As Trinity said, a truck was overturned in the middle of the road, and there was a large pothole in the road.

Sienna immediately guessed that the armored truck overturned because it hit the newly appeared pothole while traveling at high speed. The angle was wrong, and then inertia and gravity caused it to overturn.

However, there are clear signs that this is by no means an ordinary accident.

The top of the driver's cab was ripped open, and two men in security uniforms lay unconscious on the street—at least she hoped they were just unconscious.

The back of the truck was open, and one of the doors lay flat on the road.

Just as she was watching, a man got out of the back of the truck, carrying a large bag on his shoulder.

He was wearing a riding leather jacket and a grinning skull-shaped mask.

Without a doubt, this person is the villain they are looking for.

"Alright, guys, let's go take care of him!" Teddy shouted and dashed across the road.

Sienna gasped, reaching out in vain to grab Teddy.

Trinity had already rushed forward, while Athena kept a close eye on the villain.

He turned around and looked at them as they approached. "Who are you people?" he asked.

In response, Teddy transformed into a roaring grizzly bear, leaping forward as a massive claw swung towards him.

"Rattlesnake" leaped back, dodging the second blow. He slung the money bag over his shoulder and threw it at Teddy's face, which Teddy caught in his bite and shook violently.

Banknotes were flying everywhere, which was exactly the kind of disruption the "rattlesnake" needed.

He stomped his foot on the ground, and Sienna felt the ground beneath her feet tremble. Those closer to him fared even worse; Trinity's two clones tripped over them.

Then, the road in front of the man collapsed, and Sienna watched in horror as Teddy began to fall into a cracked abyss.

"Sisters Teleport: Teddy!" Sienna shouted breathlessly.

A large bear landed with a thud right in front of Sienna, letting out a muffled groan. She coughed a few times, and her purse fell to her feet.

Sienna quickly noticed that everything inside was painted bright blue. Was it a safety precaution?

She walked around Teddy, looking for "Rattlesnake," only to find the man turning around.

He slammed his boot heel into Trinity's chest, sending one of her genitals flying.

The clone fell into a crack in the street, then with a "poof," a puff of smoke appeared, and it reappeared next to another of her clones.

Fortunately, they were still wearing their uniforms.

"Rattlesnake" was knocked in the leg by Trinity, who had successfully rushed past, and staggered backward, but he easily grabbed Trinity's face and shoved her back.

But he regretted it after Trinity bit him.

The clone also turned into a cloud of smoke, and at the same time, the air around "Rattlesnake" trembled. Sienna felt her body shake as well, and she stumbled.

As she looked across the street again, the rattlesnake slithered into an alley.

"Should we go after him?" Teddy asked.

“No,” Sienna said, “no, that’s not a good idea.” Dealing with that kind of ability in a narrow alley? She didn’t want to take that risk.

Moreover, things did not resolve as smoothly as they had hoped.

Sienna looked at her sisters and checked Teddy first; her injuries were at most superficial.

Trinity was injured, but all her injured clones had recovered, so she was in high spirits again and quite proud of biting the "Rattlesnake".

Athena frowned, and Sienna noticed that Maple was half-hidden behind her owl-like sister.

This... needs time to be dealt with, but only after all this is over, because, as is typical of the Heroic Response Team (HRF), these "good guys" only show up after things are over.
