Sienna gathered her sisters together, feeling a bit like a farmer chasing chicks. Trinity ran around, poking and touching everything, and asking the heroes and policemen all sorts of questions.

Athena is talking to an investigator, giving the attentive man a highly inaccurate account of what happened, along with Teddy…

"Little Ursa, it's time to go," Sienna said as she walked toward Teddy.

Teddy stood on the edge of chaos. It wasn't that she was alone; in fact, the situation was far worse. A group of people, about twenty or so, surrounded her, with only a flimsy safety line separating her from the crowd.

“Oh dear, but boss, I was just telling everyone here about the glory of collective labor,” Teddy said. She turned to face the crowd, her face beaming with a proud, radiant smile.

"As I just said, to make the world a better place, we need to get rid of those who are too busy making money to realize that things can be better."

Everyone should own a little bit of everything, so no one can have it all to themselves. Like our boss, she's really good at sharing. We even had pizza together the other day.”

“Uh,” Sienna said, at which point all the attention in the crowd turned to her. It took only willpower to keep her from shrinking into a ball in embarrassment. Most of the people in the group were elderly, and a few had even taken out their phones.

From the smiles on their faces and the barely concealed amusement, Sienna sensed that they found Teddy's words rather than profound, rather than particularly amusing. "We're going back; I don't want to leave you behind."

"Should we go home, or back to our secret base?" Teddy asked.

“Little Ursa, you shouldn’t be talking about the secret base!” Athena said. “It’s a secret.”

“Oh, right, I forgot,” Teddy said. A soft chuckle rippled through the crowd.

Sienna couldn't wait to leave this place.

They crossed the street, passing a group of people who rushed up to ask for autographs and photos. Trinity helped by taking the papers people offered for autographs and stuffing them into her bag, which was printed with dollar signs, without even looking at them.

As soon as they entered the alleyway they had used to spy on the other side of the street, they found Sam waiting for them there. "Ready to go, boss?" she asked.

“Yes,” Sienna said, “let’s get out of here before those people behind us change their minds.”

"Where are we going?" Sam asked as they walked deeper into the alley. Several curious onlookers followed to the alley's entrance, but no one went in.

"I...I don't know either. Let's find a quiet place?"

“Let’s take the train,” Sam said. She held up her phone and waved it. “I got a text from our awesome friend. He finally had time to reply. It’s really annoying for girls when guys take so long to reply, you know?”

“What did he say?” Sienna asked.

“He said he’d meet us underground,” Sam replied, “and thanked us for helping him upgrade.”

Sienna frowned, then looked at her task.

The Queen with the Silk Sword (Continued)

Become an outstanding member of your community!

[Reward: For every 10 people who recognize you as a "good person," you gain 1 skill upgrade point. For every 10 people who recognize you as a "good person," your "rogue" attribute increases by 1!]

She could accept this result. Her skill upgrade points were accumulating. She needed to invest them in certain skills as soon as possible. "Animal Home" was a good skill, and "Healing Pat" and "Sister Teleport" were also quite good. Perhaps she should distribute them evenly among these skills?

The Queen Eats the Elephant

Defeat a rival group of superhumans through cunning, manipulation, or force!

[Reward: Gain 1 skill slot for each superhuman opponent defeated, captured, or killed. Secure your territory well; Evil attribute +1.]

She stared at the total number of skill slots she now had available. Two.

Two new skill slots. This means that if the pattern remains the same, unlocking the next skill will give her another sister. And then...

"Have you all leveled up, ladies?" Sienna asked.

“No upgrades yet, boss,” Teddy said. “This isn’t the final battle. But I got a lot of skill upgrade stuff and a skill slot.”

“Me too,” Athena said.

“I got one too, hehe,” Trinity added with a giggle.

Sam grinned. "Girls, when you're leveling up your skills, could I record your progress? Of course, it's for research purposes."

“Sure, no problem.” Teddy readily agreed. Sienna wasn’t sure if it was a good idea, but aside from worrying that the information might fall into the wrong hands, she couldn’t see anything wrong with it.

“Let’s go back to base first, and we need to make sure no one is following us along the way,” Sienna said.

They wandered around the city for a while before arriving at a repair shed a few blocks away. There was a padlock on the door, but Sam smiled and pulled out a key to unlock it.

“I added this lock,” she said. “I imagine the city officials are furious, but right now we can get in, but others can’t. I also bought some flashlights at the dollar store so we can see from down here.”

Sam stuffed a small plastic bag full of flashlights and glow sticks behind the repair shed, and the girls immediately swarmed around it. Within minutes, her sisters were covered in lights, looking like walking Christmas trees.

“I was hoping to use this bag a few times,” Sam said, shaking the empty bag. “But oh well. Twenty dollars gone just like that.”

“I’ll make it up to you,” Sienna said, a little embarrassed. She had been using her phone for light, but as they climbed into the subway tunnel, she realized she probably wouldn’t need it anymore. Her sisters were waving flashlights and glow sticks everywhere, making it impossible to miss them.

They walked along the railway tracks in the middle of the tunnel. The sisters spread out a little and played hide-and-seek in the dark, but Sienna would call them back whenever they ran too far.

She reached the train in just a few minutes. Sienna felt she was gradually getting used to being in the tunnels, because the dark passages no longer made her as nervous as they had a week ago.

Although it was still quite scary, the girls' laughter echoed in the darkness, and the flickering lights made the place less frightening.

They climbed into the last carriage and found two people waiting for them there.

Alejandro Iqta was dressed in jeans and a T-shirt, with only a domino mask to disguise his identity. Fabian, on the other hand, looked dashing, refreshed, and clean, not at all like someone who had just come from the battlefield.

"Oh, hello there," Sienna said.

“Hey, boss,” Aleja Ikta said, “Fabi’s here telling me about your big battle. Are you all alright?”

“It’s okay!” Teddy said. “It was hilarious. I was like this, 'Awooo,' and those capitalist trash heroes were yelling, ‘Oh no, it’s a bear, don’t eat me! If you eat me, I won’t be able to work overtime!’ It was so funny.”

The other girls nodded in agreement and then each recounted what had happened, but none of their versions were reliable.

"Are you... uh, are you alright?" Sienna asked Fabian.

The man nodded. "Everything's alright. I received all your messages... after the battle ended. I must admit, I was worried you'd betrayed me. I'm glad to see that wasn't the case. Thank you."

He extended his hand, and Sienna almost instinctively reached out to shake it, thinking it was just a handshake. But instead, he brought her hand to his lips and gently kissed her knuckles.

Sienna's mind went completely blank for a moment.

“Thank you so much,” he said, then flashed a dazzling smile that made Sienna’s knees go weak. “Today… wasn’t what I expected, but perhaps it was even better than I hoped. I’ve been given a chance to truly be the free spirit I want to be. But I also realize I still need to become stronger.”

“It’s alright,” Athena said. “I believe that one day you will become as capable as the boss’s men.”

Fabian chuckled softly. "Yes, I believe you. I'm equally impressed by how you managed to outmaneuver those heroes."

Athena puffed out her chest. "That's all thanks to me."

“I think… maybe we should sit down and talk about this again,” Sienna said. She felt she needed to sit down and calm down.

Her sisters gasped, then swarmed into the carriage, each grabbing a seat they could get. Fabian, Alejandro Iqta, and even Sam found places to sit.

This left only a few empty seats, including the seat at the head of the table.

Sienna swallowed hard, walked over, then pretended to flick non-existent dust off her pants and sat down.

“Alright,” Trinity said, “what’s the next plan, boss?”
