Regardless of what Fu Shiyi thought in his heart, on the surface he could only smile and agree: "That's right, Uncle is right."

He looked at Qi Ning: "So, I'm here to pick up Ningning, aren't I?"

Qi Ning rolled her eyes inwardly.

In the past, Fu Shiyi usually called her by her full name, but now he kept calling her "Ningning," which sounded like he had ulterior motives.

After Fu Shiyi finished speaking, he stepped forward and suddenly grabbed Qi Ning's hand.

Qi Ning glanced at him, puzzled.

"what happened?"

As Fu Shiyi asked, he tightened his grip on her hand even more, as if afraid she wouldn't give him face and try to break free.

Qi Ning said expressionlessly, "It's nothing."

Qi Ning did want to break free, but when she thought about Fu Jinnan watching, she gave up the idea.

Fu Shiyi then said to Fu Jinnan, "Uncle, you must still be busy, so Ningning and I will be leaving now."

Fu Jinnan naturally saw Fu Shiyi take Qi Ning's hand.

He and Qi Ning were traveling together for work. When the work was over, Fu Shiyi's appearance immediately reminded Fu Jinnan that Fu Shiyi was Qi Ning's fiancé, and he was Qi Ning's fiancé's uncle.

At least for now, that's how their relationship remains.

Fu Jinnan hummed in agreement but didn't say anything.

"Ningning, let's go," Fu Shiyi said.

Qi Ning did not refuse.

After all, Fu Shiyi is still her nominal fiancé. He came to pick her up in person, so she can't just give him the cold shoulder. It's not time to break off all ties yet.

If she doesn't go with her fiancé, is she going to go with her fiancé's younger brother?

Qi Ning turned around, smiled, and said to Fu Jinnan, "Uncle, we're leaving now."

Fu Jinnan nodded.

After finishing his conversation with Qi Ning, Fu Shiyi left first.

Fu Jinnan stood there, watching Fu Shiyi and Qi Ning leave hand in hand, his eyes somewhat dark and unreadable.

Secretary Yang didn't know what Fu Jinnan was looking at, but he inexplicably felt that President Fu's expression looked much colder.

Could it be because of Fu Shiyi?

Secretary Yang glanced at her watch and had to remind him, "President Fu, let's go too, we have a meeting this afternoon."

"I know."

Fu Jinnan responded, then looked away and led his men back to the company.

Fu Shiyi led Qi Ning to the parking lot, but Qi Ning soon broke free of his hand.

Fu Shiyi didn't insist. He opened the car door for Qi Ning and said, "Get in."

Qi Ning told her secretary and other staff to leave on their own before getting into Fu Shiyi's car.

After getting in the car, Fu Shiyi asked, "Where are you going? It's almost noon. How about we go eat first? There's a new restaurant that's pretty good."

"My dad told me to go home for dinner," Qi Ning replied indifferently.

“Alright,” Fu Shiyi said. “It’s been a long time since I visited Uncle Qi, so I’ll go back with you.”

Qi Ning looked at Fu Shiyi, a hint of sarcasm in her smile.

He didn't mean to go see Qi Tongsheng; he probably wanted to see Qi Ruo.

"what happened?"

Fu Shiyi couldn't quite understand the meaning behind Qi Ning's smile.

Qi Ning looked away and stared straight ahead: "It's nothing, go if you want to."

Upon hearing this, Fu Shiyi said to the driver, "Go to the Qi family."

"Yes, Mr. Fu." The driver started the vehicle.

The car was quiet.

Fu Shiyi glanced at Qi Ning's profile.

He was not an ordinary person from birth. His upbringing and the wealth and power he possessed fostered his arrogant nature. He was certainly not the kind of man who would stoop to flattering a woman.

Unfortunately, Qi Ning is also a proud woman with a spoiled attitude, needing a man to coax her.

She was fine before; she would occasionally show a bit of a girl's gentleness and tenderness in private.

She's been giving me the cold shoulder ever since their last argument.

Fu Shiyi was somewhat displeased. He felt that he and Qi Ning were like oil and water, and were simply not suitable for marriage.

Qi Ruo is Qi Ning's half-sister. Although she is somewhat strong-willed, she is usually gentle when she is not being stubborn.

But rather...

Remembering his parents' words of advice, Fu Shiyi sighed inwardly, but still took the initiative to speak: "Are you still angry about what happened last time?"

Qi Ning glanced at him with a hint of surprise.

Fu Shiyi said, "It was indeed my fault last time. I shouldn't have questioned you in that tone. I haven't been caring enough about you."

Qi Ning chuckled and said with a smile, "It's not that serious. Do you think I'm such a petty person?"

"That's good."

As he spoke, Fu Shiyi took a bouquet of roses from the back seat of the car and handed it to Qi Ning.

"It's for you."

Qi Ning looked at the bouquet of flowers. Before, when the original owner was engaged to him for so long, he had never sent her any flowers. Now, he suddenly made such a careless little gesture, without making his purpose too obvious.

Qi Ning felt contempt in his heart, but he didn't show it on his face.

She pretended to be happy and accepted the bouquet of flowers, saying, "They're quite pretty."

"As long as you like it."

Fu Shiyi looked at the smile on Qi Ning's face and said.

The previous conflict between the two seemed to have disappeared with this bouquet of flowers.

Although they weren't as clingy as couples in the throes of new love, they were no longer distant either, exuding the intimacy of a normal engaged couple.

Before long, the car arrived at the Qi family's house.

Qi Tongsheng has been working to ease family tensions. Qi Ning had a minor accident while on a business trip recently, and now that she's back, Qi Tongsheng has arranged for a family dinner to be prepared at home.

Qi Tongsheng, along with Qi Ruo and her daughter, were all at home waiting for Qi Ning to return.

Suddenly, the sound of a car parking in the yard was heard.

Qi Ruo glanced outside and said, "It looks like my sister is back."

"You're finally back." Qi Tongsheng was overjoyed.

As he spoke, he thought of getting up to go and receive it.

"Let Ruoruo go pick her up," Shen Yunhui stopped him. "Ruoruo, you go pick up your sister, I'll go tell the kitchen to serve the food."

"Okay," Qi Ruo replied.

Qi Tongsheng was very satisfied with the arrangement because he saw how well the mother and daughter treated Qi Ning.

Qi Ruo got up and went to the courtyard: "Sister, you're back..."

Before she could finish speaking, her smile froze on her lips.

Because Qi Ning didn't come back alone, but with Fu Shiyi.

The two held hands intimately, with Qi Ning also holding a bouquet of roses.

She paused for a moment before continuing, "My brother-in-law is here too. Dad will be so happy to hear that."

Fu Shiyi and Qi Ruo exchanged a glance, and Qi Ruo quickly looked away.

Seeing their reactions, Qi Ning laughed and said, "Qi Ruo greeted you, why didn't you respond?"

Fu Shiyi then spoke up: "It's been a long time since I've seen Qi Ruo."

"Really? You're so busy with work that you rarely see me, so it's normal that you don't see Qi Ruo much either."

Qi Ruo felt a little guilty after hearing this. In fact, she and Fu Shiyi had run into each other several times in private because of work.

She lowered her head: "Sister, please come in quickly, Mom and Dad are waiting for you to have dinner together."
