"Wow, Miss Lin is really capable." Xiao Meng's quick payment moved Factory Manager Wang deeply. In his daily operations, there are usually delivery dates for shipments, which are at least one or two days. It's rare to see a settlement like this on the spot, where payment is made on the spot.

He finally got a taste of what it's like to work at a luxury goods store; seeing the big boss swipe his card and have the money deposited instantly is truly exhilarating.

Manager Teng chuckled, "Old Wang, now you understand, right? By the way, didn't you tell me last time that you wanted to sell some of your old Yun brocade pieces to recoup some losses?"

"I think you shouldn't send it to the auction house. You'll have to pay them appraisal and brokerage fees. Why don't you just bring out the good stuff and let Xiao Lin take a look?"

"Old Yun Jin?" Xiao Meng looked at Manager Teng curiously.

"Yes, it's old Yun brocade, the real old Yun brocade woven by old weavers in the 1950s and 60s using old-fashioned looms," Manager Teng replied.

"You should know by now that the efficiency of old-fashioned brocade looms is very different from that of modern automated looms."

Therefore, one characteristic of using old Nanjing brocade is that it allows for non-repeating patterns.

Factory Director Wang recalled, "So decades ago, the leadership team organized veteran craftsmen from before liberation to weave a batch of brocade handicrafts using the brocade weaving technique, and sent them to other places to participate in exhibitions."

"I remember you won an award, didn't you?"

"Yes, many of my works have won awards."

As they walked, Factory Director Wang led Xiaomeng and the others to a small exhibition hall upstairs. Then, he and Manager Teng carried a box out of the inner warehouse.

They took out three rolls of brocade and carefully unfurled them on the large conference table in the center of the exhibition hall.

"This is a painting of the 'Founding Ceremony of the People's Republic of China'."

Xiao Meng was stunned as she watched the large artwork, nearly two meters long, slowly unfold before her. If she hadn't known beforehand that it was a brocade piece, she would have mistaken it for a printed poster.

This work is almost identical to the most famous photograph of Chairman Mao standing on Tiananmen Square, announcing the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The difference lies in the fact that this brocade piece has more detail and also features vibrant colors.

"It's so impactful! The technical skill involved must be incredibly high." Xiaomeng was amazed by the perfection of the work; this truly showcased the skill of Zhuanghua Yunjin.

"Beautiful, isn't it? Hehehe. Now look at this one, the theme of which is 'Discussing the World Together'."

Xiao Meng looked closely and realized that the painting depicted the scene of the founding fathers gathering together to discuss the nation's future in the early days of the People's Republic of China. Each leader's face and expression were distinct on the brocade.

It's true, only people from that era with genuine passion could portray the expressions of their leaders so vividly.

The third piece is a complete replica of a photograph of a national leader inspecting military training and posing with the troops. The entire work is 7 meters long. This enormous piece is also very impactful.

"Director Wang, your collection is absolutely amazing! Have you never exhibited it to the public before?" Xiao Meng was deeply impressed.

"They were exhibited before, but the factory was reorganized and they were taken back and piled up in this warehouse," said Factory Director Wang with some regret. "The themes of these items weren't very popular before, so they never sold."

Recently, the factory discussed taking these old Nanjing brocade pieces to an auction to see if they could sell them and recoup some of the costs. After all, these pieces were developed at great expense back then.

"Have you appraised it yet? What price are you planning to offer?" Xiaomeng asked. She really wanted to buy it. Even someone who didn't know much about Yunjin could tell at a glance that it was a good item.

“We would be willing to sell it if it were a regular piece of old Nanjing brocade, which would cost around 50,000 to 60,000 yuan per meter.”

"Then let's say 60,000. The first piece is about two meters long, so let's say 120,000?" Xiaomeng suddenly felt that the price was a bit low. She felt that this piece had more collectible value than jewelry. It's just that the price hasn't been inflated yet.

"Yes, the auction price of our Yun brocade has never been as high as that of kesi (silk tapestry). Coupled with the restrictions on the subject matter, the auction houses are not very optimistic about the auction prices of our works." Director Wang also expressed some regret.

“Great, Director Wang, how many more pieces like these do you have in your warehouse? Sell them all to me. I’ll see what I can do and put together an exhibition to promote our amazing textile skills to the public.”
