Tomb raiding: The awesome life that started from Ganggangyingzi

Chapter 11 Eating Meat in Large Mouths and Yingzi Giving a Knife

"Hey! Old Party Secretary, Sister Yanzi, you're back? That's perfect, we can have some meat now!"

Ji Haobo came out of the kitchen carrying a basin full of meat. He greeted the old Party Secretary and his daughter with a smile and then turned around and called out.

"Yingzi, could you bring out a few more bowls and chopsticks?"

These days in the countryside, most families might not be able to eat meat even once every two weeks.

Even if there were any, each person would only eat a little bit, just to satisfy their cravings.

So when such a large bowl of meat was served, everyone ate it with their heads covered and their mouths full.

"Little Stone, eat slowly, there's plenty of meat here," he said, swallowing hard.

Seeing Xiao Shitou wolfing down his food, Ji Haobo couldn't help but smile and pat his head.

"When I was a child, the day I looked forward to most in the orphanage was not the New Year."

Sometimes, kind-hearted people from the community come to the facility to hold charity events, and they bring lots of food.

Everyone was scrambling to eat, and I, like Little Stone, ate until my belly was round and bulging.

"Brother Bo, you had such a pitiful childhood, eat more."

Yingzi's eyes reddened as she listened, and she kept piling meat into his bowl, soon creating a small mountain.

Upon seeing this, Ji Haobo's eyelids twitched violently, and he quickly said:

"Alright! Alright! Yingzi, you eat too."

An hour later, the group not only finished the bowl of meat, but also took the rest from the pot and finished it off.

Fatty Wang lay on the chair with a satisfied look on his face, picking his teeth with a small stick.

"Brother Bo, what do you think we should do if that Biaozi gets bored out of his mind and goes to the village?"

His somewhat absurd words caused the expressions of the people sitting next to him to change.

Although I thought it was impossible, I was just afraid of the worst-case scenario, especially since that forest wasn't far from here.

The old Party Secretary, puffing on his pipe, was somewhat confused by their conversation, but seeing the strange expressions on their faces, he sensed that something was amiss.

"Xiao Wang, who is this Biaozi you're talking about? Is he some kind of notorious bandit or something?"

"Hey! What kind of ruthless bandit? Old Party Secretary, you have no idea! Blah blah blah..."

Fatty Wang patted his chest, still shaken, and recounted his harrowing hunting adventure in a rapid-fire, animated manner.

"What? You saw Biao? What if, as you say, he runs into the village?"

The old Party Secretary was shocked upon hearing this, and almost dropped his pipe.

"Don't worry too much. We encountered that tiger, and nothing happened to us, did it?"

Seeing everyone looking worried and anxious, Ji Haobo glared at Fatty Wang, who had a big mouth.

Fortunately, this happened at the old Party Secretary's house. If it had been said outside, it might have caused some trouble.

"Bo-ye is right, everyone don't worry too much. And Fatty, remember not to shout nonsense outside."

When Fatty Wang heard Old Hu say the same thing, he belatedly realized what was going on and quickly nodded.

"Oh, okay, I was overthinking it. Biaozi definitely won't come. He's eating and drinking well in the mountains, what would he do here? He doesn't have any..."

"Shut up, are you ever going to stop?"

Ji Haobo and Lao Hu were speechless. Damn it! Wang Pangzi's rambling was getting more and more off-topic, and the two of them immediately scolded him in unison.

The old Party Secretary had lived for decades and was a shrewd old man; how could he not understand what the others meant, and he knew that they were doing it for everyone's good?

However, he remembered something and quickly turned to look at Yingzi.

"Although what Xiao Bo and the others said makes sense, Yingzi, your home is outside the village and you live alone."

Besides, there might be some weasel spirits tonight, so you'll have to stay at my place for the next couple of days.

Yingzi's expression changed slightly upon hearing his words. She was naturally a little scared, but her family's situation was somewhat troublesome. After hesitating for a moment, she shook her head.

"This... I'm afraid this isn't a good idea. My family not only has several horses, but also these dogs..."

Seeing that she was only worried about these things, the old Party Secretary quickly interrupted her:

"Oh dear! None of that matters. I'll lead the horses to the cattle pens of the neighboring houses and leave them there for now."

As for the dogs, let them stay in the yard; we might need them tonight!

"Yingzi, just listen to the old Party Secretary and come over here for the next couple of days first, then we'll talk about it."

Ji Haobo also offered some advice, saying that this matter did indeed need to be handled with caution. Thinking about this, it seemed that he also needed to make some preparations for tonight.

Otherwise, if that weasel really appears and something strange happens, and I'm all empty-handed, I might end up getting fucked instead of being able to force it, which would make me a laughingstock.

"Old Hu, Fatty, go to the villagers' homes and see if there's a handle that matches that wood-chopping knife. This one is too short."

"If we didn't lack suitable weapons, even if Biaozi came, we'd be evenly matched."

Upon hearing his instructions, Lao Hu and his companion quickly got up and prepared to leave, but Yingzi stopped them.

"Brother Bo, if you need a knife, I happen to have one at home. I just don't know if it'll suit your needs. I'll go home and get it right now."

After saying that, he rushed out of the yard. When Old Hu saw that it was the same thing again, a strange smile involuntarily appeared on his face.

"Master Bo, you..."

Ji Haobo was afraid that this guy was up to no good, so he quickly interrupted him.

"What do you mean, 'you'? No matter what kind of knife Yingzi's family has, we still need to find the handle. Otherwise, what will you use if I have a knife?"

Old Hu and Fatty Wang were taken aback when they heard this, only then realizing that they didn't have any tools yet!

Even Master Bo wouldn't dare to fight empty-handed, let alone these two noobs.

"Ah! Right, right, since Master Bo is about to get a new weapon, then I can use this broken woodcutter's knife."

Before Lao Hu could react, Fatty Wang pounced like a vicious dog, snatching the machete that was lying in the corner.

"Damn it, you fat bastard, that machete should have been given to me. You might as well have the old Party Secretary find a rake instead."

Old Hu was displeased to see that Fatty Wang had beaten him to it, and his words were tinged with aggression.

"Pah! I'd rather the old Party Secretary find you a carrying pole!"

Wang Pangzi retaliated without backing down, but fearing that Lao Hu would snatch his wood-chopping knife, he quickly said he would go find a handle and ran away in a flash.

Old Hu sighed helplessly, glanced at the other wood-chopping knives beside him, and shook his head.

The intact machete had an eagle hook on the front, which was originally meant to prevent injury, but now it has become a disliked flaw.

I could only go out and see if any of the villagers still had broken machetes.

The old Party Secretary gave a heads-up, and he and his group of old buddies, who had been taking turns banging drums and gongs, now had to go and change shifts.

Swallow also went to help with cooking, and took Little Stone with her.

Suddenly, only Ji Haobo and the few hunting dogs left by Yingzi remained in the courtyard.

Just as he lay in the chair, puffing out smoke and gazing absently at the sunset on the horizon;

Yingzi appeared outside the courtyard leading two horses, threw down the reins, and came in carrying a long strip wrapped in animal skin.

"Brother Bo, this is the knife I was talking about. Open it up and see if it's comfortable to handle."

Ji Haobo got up and took the thing wrapped in several layers of animal hide. It was heavy in his hand, weighing at least ten kilograms.
