Di Xuanshang looked down at the exquisitely handsome little boy in front of him, his doubts deepening. He tried hard to search his memory for anything related to Shen Yunxi, but to no avail.

He was clearly her subordinate, so why would this child call him by such an intimate name? Handsome Uncle? This title felt strange and abrupt to him, completely out of place with his imagined subordinate status.

"Why do you call me handsome uncle?" Di Xuanshang tried to soften his voice so as not to frighten the child.

"Oh, handsome uncle, have you forgotten? That's what I called you the first time I met you." Shen Ruoyu looked at Di Xuanshang in confusion, then cried, "Handsome uncle, have you forgotten me?"

Di Xuanshang: "!!!"

"Waaaaah, I'm so cute, how could the handsome uncle forget about me? I'm not talking to you anymore!"

After saying this angrily, Shen Ruoyu ran away, shouting all the while, "Bad uncle, I don't want you anymore."

"Don't you remember us?" Shen Ruoning, who had been silent, spoke with certainty.

Di Xuanshang was silent for a moment, then nodded: "I don't remember you. Your mother said I was her subordinate."

"Oh." Shen Ruoning nodded thoughtfully, her big, dark eyes sparkling. She looked at Di Xuanshang earnestly, a hint of solemnity on her face: "Since you are my mother's subordinate, you must protect her well in the future!"

She paused, then pointed her little finger at Di Xuanshang, her tone serious: "Don't let her get hurt, don't let her suffer any injustice, don't let her cry!"

The little girl's voice was clear and crisp, carrying an unquestionable tone of command.

"If Mommy loses even a single hair," Shen Ruoning said fiercely, waving her little fist, "I'll beat you up!"

Di Xuanshang: "!!!"

"Alright, I'm sleepy, I'm going to sleep. You stay here and watch over my mother." Shen Ruoning chuckled, looking very sleepy.

The next morning, when Shen Yunxi woke up, she found that Di Xuanshang was no longer in the room.

She went downstairs to ask the waiter, and learned that he had left the inn early in the morning, saying he had gone to take care of some things.

Shen Yunxi felt a strange unease rising in her heart, and she had a feeling that Di Xuanshang's departure was related to her.

"Could it be that she went to check his identity?" she wondered to herself. "Did he discover something?"

"Hey, Mom." Shen Ruoning rubbed her sleepy eyes and ran downstairs. As soon as she got downstairs, she saw Shen Yunxi staring blankly.

"Mother, why don't you rest a little longer?" Her crisp voice carried a hint of surprise as she quickly walked to Shen Yunxi's side, looking up at her with concern in her large, dark, bright eyes.

Shen Yunxi gently stroked Shen Ruoning's soft hair, feeling the silky touch on her fingertips, and said softly, "Mother has rested well, so don't worry."

She slowly knelt down and embraced Shen Ruoning's small body, feeling the warmth emanating from her daughter, her heart filled with guilt and self-reproach. She gently patted Shen Ruoning's back and said softly, "I'm sorry, Ningbao, it's all my fault for making you worry."

"It's alright, it's good that Mother is back safe and sound." Shen Ruoning nestled obediently in Shen Yunxi's arms, her sweet voice soft and endearing. She secretly buried her face in Shen Yunxi's neck, gently nuzzling against her, feeling the warmth from her mother.

But she secretly made up her mind: wherever her mother goes from now on, she will follow her closely and never be separated from her again.

She wanted to protect her mother and prevent anyone from hurting her.
