Thriller Zone: From the Mental Hospital to the Ghostly World

After finishing their meal, with two hours left before their afternoon classes, the group decided to head back to their dormitories.

The school for repeat students has only one dormitory building; the boys live on the bottom two floors, and the girls live on the top floor.

The teaching building was dilapidated, and a chill mixed with the smell of dust permeated the entire floor. There was a perforated hole in the rusty iron door, which reminded Chen Ji of the night check window in a mental hospital.

After finding their respective rooms, the six people gathered downstairs.

Chen Ji, Du Tingfeng, and the burly man were assigned to a dormitory room with an extra bed, which belonged to the deceased Zeng Mingwei.

Fang Jia and Wu Yan shared a room, while Ding Xiang shared a room with three other unfamiliar girls.

After exchanging information, the group agreed to meet half an hour before class and then went back to their respective dormitories.

Chen Ji helped the strong man onto the bed and then climbed onto the bed himself. All three of them had been on edge all morning, so they decided to take a break during their precious lunch break.

As consciousness gradually faded and the room fell silent, everyone slowly drifted off to sleep.

"Boom!"

"Boom boom boom!"

The burly man suddenly opened his eyes, propped himself up on his arms, and the iron gate of the dormitory was shaking violently.

"Who is it?" Chen Ji rolled out of bed and whispered to the door.

"It's me, Ding Xiang." A cold female voice came, filled with barely concealed anxiety: "Open the door!"

Chen Ji glanced back at Du Tingfeng and the burly man, exchanged a few seconds of eye contact, and then opened the gate.

Outside the door, Ding Xiang's face was as pale as paper, and her eyes were filled with intense fear.

Her voice trembled, revealing an unusual panic.

"My roommate is back."

"They...are not human!"

"Oh!"

Just as Ding Xiang finished speaking, a strange noise came from the end of the corridor, as if the iron door had been pushed hard.

She looked up instinctively, her eyes suddenly widened, and her body trembled like a sieve, unable to utter a single word.

Chen Ji pulled her into the room and peeked out. The corridor was empty except for the iron door of a dormitory at the end, which was swaying as if someone had pushed it open before.

But he hadn't heard any footsteps.

Just as Chen Ji was about to turn back, his eyes suddenly narrowed, and a white shadow appeared behind the door as if by illusion.

The figure behind the door was wearing a school uniform and appeared to be a girl, but the half-exposed face was extremely strange, completely blank, without any facial features!

She only appeared for a second before hiding away after seeing Chen Ji.

Chen Ji slammed the door shut and locked it, then turned to look at Ding Xiang.

"She shares a dorm room with you?"

Ding Xiang nodded, slumped down on the edge of the bed, and hugged her arms tightly, as if this would give her a sense of security.

The burly man leaned against the headboard, unable to get out of bed on his own, and looked at Chen Ji:

What did you just see?

“It’s Ding Xiang’s roommate,” Chen Ji said, looking out through a small window in the iron gate, but there was no one in sight. “I don’t know what it is, it has no face.”

"She kept following Ding Xiang, peeping from behind the dormitory door in front."

Du Tingfeng, who was leaning against the headboard, suddenly changed his expression after hearing Chen Ji's words!

Which dormitory?

Chen Ji lowered his head and thought for a moment: "The one at the very end, the one with no window on the door."

At this point, he suddenly realized something and looked sharply at Du Tingfeng. Their eyes met, and they both understood each other's guess.

"There are no windows, so there's only one possibility," Chen Ji murmured. "It's the dormitory manager's room."

"No matter which school you go to, people of the opposite sex are not allowed to visit each other's dorm rooms."

"She went and snitched!"

As soon as he finished speaking, two footsteps came from outside, one in front of the other. The clattering sound from the front was the sound of high heels.

Large beads of sweat dripped from Ding Xiang's forehead. She hadn't expected that simply exchanging information would violate a taboo.

If the dorm supervisor catches them, everyone in this room will die!

The burly man struggled to his feet and quickly looked around. The room was empty; apart from a storage cabinet and a bed, there was nowhere to hide.

The sound of high heels had stopped in front of the door.

The intense banging on the door stopped briefly, and then a sharp female voice suddenly rang out.

"I'm warning you, if you don't open the door, everyone will be punished!"

A series of dragging footsteps came from inside the house. A few seconds later, Chen Ji opened the door, his eyelids drooping, as if he had just woken up.

"What's wrong, teacher?" He yawned, his voice lazy.

A splash of red caught his eye. Chen Ji looked up, and the dormitory supervisor's face appeared just before he reached the ceiling.

The dormitory manager was nearly two meters tall, with a body as thin as a sheet of paper. His long, horse-like face had no features, except for a single eyeball embedded in the middle of his forehead that mechanically rotated.

Behind her, a short girl stood by the wall, her face also looking like smooth putty; she was Ding Xiang's roommate.

The dormitory manager shoved Chen Ji aside and led the girl into the dormitory.

Du Tingfeng was leaning against the window, passing the time by tossing coins in his hand. He looked at the dormitory supervisor in surprise:

"Teacher, is there something you need at midday?"

The dormitory manager ignored him, looked around the dormitory, and saw that all three people in the room were still sleepy, as if they had just been woken up from their afternoon nap.

Apart from the burly man leaning against the bed because of his limp, the surroundings were empty, and there was no sign of Ding Xiang.

She turned around and stared fiercely at the girl, who was clearly flustered and shouted out.

"She's definitely here. I saw her go into this room with my own eyes!"

The girl had no mouth, and her voice, hoarse and indistinct, came from somewhere: "Teacher, let's look again. She must be hiding somewhere."

After saying that, she walked a few steps to the bedside and leaned over to look under the bed.

There was nothing there; the thick layer of dust proved that no one had ever gone inside.

The dormitory supervisor impatiently pulled the girl away, walked to the windowsill, rolled his eyes around his forehead, and slowly looked down into the window.

The locks on the windows were rusty, showing no signs of being opened.

Looking at them one by one, the three people in the room were all in a daze, seemingly completely unaware of what had happened.

As she turned around, she suddenly noticed an incongruous iron storage cabinet placed in the corner behind the door.

"This cabinet wasn't here before, was it?" The dormitory supervisor's shrill voice rose eerily.

After a few seconds of silence, Chen Ji suddenly scratched his head and said, "Teacher, we didn't set this up."

"We all just moved into this dorm room, have you forgotten?"

The burly man glanced at Chen Ji immediately, then lowered his head.

The dormitory manager didn't say anything, but opened the locker door. The pupils in his eyes on his forehead dilated, as if he saw something incredible.

A moment later, she bent down and took out an item from inside, clutching it tightly in her hand. Chen Ji stared at it and saw that it appeared to be a fountain pen.

Behind the dormitory supervisor, the faceless girl trembled all over. She couldn't understand why she couldn't find Ding Xiang anywhere!
