"The results are out."

Koby's voice carried a hint of smugness as he looked down at the restless crowd below, a smile playing on his lips.

"You manipulated all of this?" Leon frowned, his eyes filled with doubt and shock.

“That’s right, the entire racetrack is under our control.” Kirby nodded in confirmation, a smug gleam in his eyes.

"Horse number 4 will deliberately fall behind in the final moments of the race, as we have planned, while horse number 6 will unexpectedly overtake and win the race."

"We bet most of our capital on horse number 6."

Tommy had lit a cigarette at some point. He took a deep drag and slowly exhaled a wisp of smoke, which dissipated into the air.

He squinted at the gamblers below, who were either happy or sad because of the race results, and continued to explain in a cold tone: "The victory of horse number 4 a couple of days ago was also the result of our careful planning. Including those so-called inside information, they were all deliberately released by us."

"All that talk about magical enhancements and the blessing of Lady Luck is just a trick we use to deceive these blind gamblers."

"We deliberately let horse number 4 win in the first two races, in order to attract gamblers who always dream of getting rich overnight."

Tommy spoke slowly, his tone revealing a profound understanding of human weaknesses.

"When we first announced that number 4 would win, most people were certainly skeptical. After all, no one wants to easily believe in something that seems like a sure thing."

"However, when horse number 4 actually won the first race, some of those who were initially convinced began to waver."

Tommy continued, his eyes flashing with mockery and his tone dismissive.

"They started to think that maybe the news was true, and maybe they could really make a fortune from it. However, that wasn't enough; they needed more fish to bite."

"So, on the second day, we let horse number 4 win the race again and increased the dissemination of the news to let more people know this 'secret'."

Tommy's lips curled into a smug smile as he said this.

"As a result, those who hesitated on the first day will be even more restless on the second day. They will think that they had the opportunity to make money easily, but missed the opportunity because of their hesitation."

"By the third game, their mental defenses will completely collapse because they don't want to miss out on the so-called 'sure-win' opportunity again, so they will not hesitate to invest more money in betting."

Tommy concluded that his words revealed a precise understanding of gamblers' psychology.

Upon hearing this, Leon felt a chill run down his spine. He had to admit that Tommy and his team had an incredibly precise grasp of the gambler's psychology, as if they were manipulating chess pieces on a board.

"Hehe, you have no idea how much money we made this time, Rein," Koby chimed in excitedly, a satisfied smile spreading across his face.

He then held up a finger in front of Leon, his tone full of boasting: "100 pounds! Earning 100 pounds in just one transaction, something I never even dared to dream of before!"

Koby's voice was filled with pride, as if they had already reached the pinnacle of success, and the gamblers they had manipulated were merely stepping stones on their path to wealth.

"Surely we can't keep doing this forever?"

“If this continues, the gamblers will realize something is wrong, and then they won’t believe it anymore,” Leon said.

“Yes, you’re right, that’s true, but we won’t do it frequently,” Tommy nodded and explained.

“We will give them a taste of success at the right time, make them feel lucky, and then strike again when they are most relaxed.”

“I never imagined that running this racetrack would be so profitable,” Tommy continued, his tone tinged with disbelief.

“Since opening this racetrack, I’ve discovered that making money can be so easy. Just this small racetrack brings us 400 pounds of net profit every month, it’s like a money printing machine.”

Upon hearing the number, Leon gasped. This was faster than outright robbery, no, even faster than stealing money. The gamblers here were practically handing over their money willingly.

"Unfortunately, this is the only racetrack we have now." Tommy's words brought Leon back to reality.

"There are a total of five racetracks in the entire Klind area. In addition to the racetracks, there are countless underground casinos and gambling activities. Imagine how much profit we could make if we controlled all of that."

"So, Leon, how about joining us?" Koby's eyes gleamed with anticipation as he leaned forward, seemingly extending an olive branch to Leon.

"Just like before, we'll work together. Right now, we're short-handed. With you, at least we don't have to worry about other organizations causing trouble for us anymore."

"Someone else is going to cause you trouble?" Leon frowned, clearly surprised by the situation.

“Of course, such tempting profits will naturally attract a lot of people to covet them.” Koby shrugged, his tone revealing his helplessness at this fact.

Tommy nodded in agreement and then explained, "In Klind, the competition between underground organizations is fierce. Currently, the two largest organizations control the east and west parts of Klind respectively."

The Van der Gang is virtually omnipotent in East City; they control all the casinos and other illegal businesses there.

The Watson family, however, held a dominant position in West City. While their primary business was a distillery, virtually monopolizing the liquor business in Klind, they also had interests in casinos and other industries.

As Leon listened to Tommy's explanation, he gradually gained a deeper understanding of Clind's underworld.
