Chapter 205 Aftermath (2)
On the way, Rhine's thoughts were like swirling snowflakes as he went through all the possible scenarios in his mind.
If the law enforcement investigation touches on his older brother Arthur, then he has no choice but to tell the truth.
Arthur's identity was not difficult to find; he was one of the workers who participated in the strike.
However, Rhine was not worried because they left the scene immediately after realizing that things might get out of control and did not get involved in what followed.
When he reached his doorstep, Rhine opened it and saw Arthur sitting quietly on the sofa. Only then did he feel relieved; he was glad that Arthur was safe.
Upon hearing the door open, Arthur immediately stood up, his face filled with concern.
He stepped forward, looked at Rhine's face, and asked, "Nothing happened, right? I heard the scene was very chaotic, quite a few people were injured, and almost all the law enforcement officers were deployed."
“It’s nothing.” Rhine shook his head, trying to make his tone sound relaxed.
"Where are your friends?" Arthur asked again, a hint of worry in his eyes.
"I was mistaken. That person just looked like my friend. Who knew it wasn't him? What a wasted trip."
Rhine told a little lie; he didn't tell Arthur the truth. In his view, it was none of Arthur's business, and it was better that he didn't know.
"Okay, that's good." Arthur visibly relaxed after hearing Rhine's words.
"Have you eaten? I'll go make some."
Rhine touched his stomach, feeling hungry, and nodded at Arthur.
During this period, their lives improved significantly, and their financial situation was no longer as tight as before.
Previously, their meals often consisted of only dry bread and a few simple vegetables, but now, meat can be found on their tables almost every day.
Although the change is small, it brings them real happiness.
After a series of setbacks, Rhine felt somewhat exhausted.
He lay alone on the sofa, closed his eyes, and let his body and mind rest for a moment while waiting for the lunch prepared by Arthur.
The soft touch of the sofa and the familiar scent of home gradually dispelled his tension and fatigue.
Before he knew it, Rhine drifted off to sleep. In this safe haven, he slept soundly and peacefully.
Perhaps it was because he was at home that he felt incredibly relaxed, or perhaps it was because he was really too tired and needed a deep sleep to recover his strength.
Arthur spent ages in the kitchen preparing lunch. He carried the plates to the living room, only to find Rhine already asleep on the sofa. Seeing his brother's tired face, Arthur felt a pang of pain in his heart.
He sat quietly beside Rhine, his eyes filled with contemplation.
He knew that something must have happened to Rhine, and from his words just now, Arthur could sense that his brother was trying his best to hide it and didn't want him to worry.
Rhine was always like that, used to taking on everything himself and unwilling to pass on the burden to others, especially him.
Looking back, Arthur realized that his relationship with Rhine was indeed somewhat complicated.
They weren't as close as other brothers; they used to argue constantly over trivial matters.
Back then, their relationship was simple and straightforward; they could make up quickly after arguments, like the carefree and innocent nature unique to childhood.
But now, everything has changed. They no longer argue frequently; instead, there is a subtle sense of distance between them.
Arthur sometimes felt a strange sense of loss, as if there was an invisible barrier between them.
He understood that this might be because of Rhine's growth; people always have to grow up and can't always be as carefree as they were when they were children.
Arthur sighed deeply, trying to convince himself that everyone changes over time, and their relationship was slowly evolving as well.
Perhaps they need to find a new way of getting along, a brotherhood that is more suitable for adults.
Thinking about this, Arthur felt that he might be being a little too sensitive. After all, Rhine had grown up and was fully capable of handling problems on his own.
He shouldn't worry as much as before. But deep down, Arthur still longed to do something for Rhine, hoping that Rhine would think of him and seek his help when he encountered difficulties.
This idea might just be his way of proving his worth as the eldest brother.
He chuckled self-deprecatingly, shook his head gently, and decided not to dwell on these pointless thoughts any longer.
Arthur stood up and gently patted Rhine's shoulder, trying to gently wake him up.
"Dinner's ready, Rhine."
His voice was gentle and full of care.
Seeing Rhine's eyelashes flutter slightly, and then he slowly opened his eyes. His expression was slightly dazed, but he quickly regained his senses and sat up straight.
"okay."
Rhine's voice still carried a hint of sleepiness. He rubbed his eyes and stretched.
I didn't expect to fall asleep in such a short time. I must be really tired. I need to get some rest after these few days.

I plan to finish Part Two after a few more chapters.
There were supposed to be more things to do, including Harvey, but this seems to be dragging things out too much.
Actually, I was already intentionally shortening this part when I was writing it, because this part is when Leon first traveled through time, and it seems that people don't really like reading it. Starting from the second part, the number of people following the updates has been decreasing, and the pace of this part is actually very slow.
But now it's speeding forward like a train, hahaha, whatever, it didn't affect much anyway.
In fact, the second part is mainly to highlight the changes in Leon's personality and the subsequent appearance of other characters.
Why did he feel in the first part that he didn't want to cause trouble, didn't want to meddle in other people's business, and just wanted to live a peaceful life?
It's all because of what happened in the beginning. For example, at the first class reunion, he would help a stranger who was being bullied without considering the consequences because he couldn't stand it.
And this time, he was forced into trouble because of Tommy.
Anyway, that's how it is. Not watching the second part won't make a big difference, since the third part follows directly from the first.
