Chapter 190 Interrogation
"Were you sent by that woman?"
Jerry's voice was filled with anger, and his eyes, like two sharp swords, stared straight at Tommy and Coby.
His fingers were clenched into a fist, as if he was trying to control his emotions.
Upon hearing this, Tommy was startled, his brows furrowed involuntarily, and his eyes narrowed into slits.
He never expected that their identities would be exposed so quickly.
He tried to remain calm, attempting to find a clue in Jerry's face.
"What do you know?"
Tommy's voice was cold and threatening; he was trying to get an answer from Jerry.
"What do I know? I know everything."
Jerry's tone revealed a hint of disdain, and his eyes grew increasingly determined.
"You thought you had covered your tracks perfectly, but unfortunately, I still found out. What, now that things have been exposed, you're resorting to intimidation?"
Tommy and Kirby looked at each other in disbelief; they hadn't expected Jerry to know so much.
Koby nervously swallowed, while Tommy tried to calm the situation.
"I'm telling you, no, go back and tell that woman, this marriage is off whether she likes it or not!"
Jerry's voice rose a few decibels, his anger palpable.
"Divorce? What do you mean?" Tommy asked, puzzled. He felt as if he had fallen into a huge fog and was completely confused.
Koby was the first to come to his senses. "I said, is it possible that you two aren't on the same wavelength?"
Koby gently tugged at Tommy's sleeve and whispered in his ear.
There was a hint of amusement in his eyes, as if he found the little misunderstanding amusing.
"Not on the same wavelength?" Tommy turned his head and looked at Koby with a puzzled expression, clearly still not recovered from the chaos just now.
“Yeah, but it sounds like the woman he’s talking about is his wife,” Koby explained, his tone implying, “Isn’t it obvious?”
"You mean... he's Duke Hills?" Tommy seemed to have grasped some key information, but had clearly gone off-topic again.
When Koby heard Tommy's words, he was speechless at the guy's way of thinking.
He shook his head, saying helplessly, "What is this all about? I said the woman he's talking about is his wife, not Mrs. Hills. Mrs. Hills is Mrs. Hills, what's wrong with you? Can't you even understand such simple logic?"
"Oh, I see. It seems I was overthinking it."
Tommy finally realized what was happening and gave an awkward smile.
He scratched the back of his head, realizing that his deduction had indeed been a bit too complicated.
After understanding what had happened, Tommy was relieved.
"I said, you two should release us right now."
Jerry's voice was filled with anger and anxiety, and his eyes were fixed firmly on Tommy and Kirby, trying to intimidate them with his presence.
"Let it go? You almost got me into a trap just now."
Tommy smiled nonchalantly, then slowly walked up to Jerry and gently placed a hand on Jerry's head. The gesture seemed friendly, but it made Jerry's heart race.
"What... what do you want to do?" Jerry's body trembled involuntarily, his voice filled with obvious fear, and he felt an unprecedented threat.
However, Tommy did not answer directly. His gaze was cold, and flames suddenly rose from his hand, like the claws of a demon, chilling to the bone.
Tommy gripped Jerry's head tightly, the flames spreading rapidly, the sound of burning skin particularly jarring in the quiet night.
Jerry's screams rang out, filled with pain and despair, echoing through the empty street and sending chills down one's spine.
"Tommy!" Kirby shouted, his voice filled with shock and anger. He rushed forward, trying to stop the sudden violence. "What are you doing!"
“Of course, we’ll take care of him.” Tommy’s voice was cold and ruthless. He seemed completely indifferent to Jerry’s pain as he released his grip.
However, when Tommy let go, Jerry's head was completely mangled, his entire neck and above were charred black, and there was no sign of life.
Jerry's body collapsed limply to the ground; the once vibrant man was now nothing but a skeleton.
Koby stared wide-eyed, unable to accept the reality before him, while Tommy stood aside, as if everything that had just happened was merely a minor incident to him.
“You…” Koby’s eyes were filled with shock and fear. He couldn’t believe that Tommy could be so cruel and heartless.
His lips trembled as he tried to say something, but found himself unable to make a sound.
"This guy is trying to distract me and keeps pretending not to answer my questions, so don't blame me for being ruthless."
Tommy's voice was icy cold, and his eyes were devoid of any warmth, as if the violence he had just committed was nothing out of the ordinary for him.
He then looked at Tom, who had witnessed the whole thing, his eyes filled with scrutiny and threat: "And you? Have you given any explanation? Or do you want to end up like him?"
"I...I...I'll tell you, what do you want to know? I'll tell you everything."
Tom's voice trembled, and his body involuntarily took a step back, fearing that he would become the next Jerry.
His face was filled with fear and regret; he clearly hadn't expected tonight's actions to turn into such a tragedy.
"Wouldn't it have been better to do this earlier?" Tommy's words carried a condescending sarcasm as his gaze remained fixed on Tom's face, awaiting his answer.
"Tell me, what are you planning to do tonight?" Tommy's voice carried an undeniable authority; he needed to know these people's true purpose.
"I don't know. We were just notified to come to a meeting, but we don't know what it's about," Tom said quickly, his voice full of sincerity, clearly afraid that his fate would be the same as Jerry's.
"Do you think I believe you?" Tommy's eyes revealed doubt, but his voice was calm and powerful, as if it could penetrate Tom's lies.
"Really! Really! I swear, I'm not lying to you!"
Tom broke down, tears streaming down his face, his voice filled with despair and fear.
He knew that his current situation was very dangerous, and any wrong answer could lead to unpredictable consequences.
“I think it’s true,” Kirby interjected cautiously from the side. His voice was not loud, but he was clearly trying to defend Tom and also hoping to calm Tommy’s anger.
"What do you usually do in church?" Tommy didn't answer Kirby directly, but continued his interrogation, trying to find a loophole in Tom's words.
“Pray, pray, chant,” Tom replied hastily, his voice trembling with nervousness.
