Chapter 138 Damage
She quickly looked down at her abdomen, where a sharp knife was embedded in her body, the blade already piercing through, and blood was beginning to seep out.
Amy's hand was still tightly gripping the knife hilt; her movements were cold and resolute.
Lian stared at Amy in disbelief, her eyes filled with shock and pain. She tried to find the familiar warmth in Amy's eyes, but found only coldness and unfamiliarity.
Amy swiftly pulled the knife out of Lean's body, took a step back, and blood continued to drip from the knife, forming a shocking pool of red on the ground.
Lian clutched her abdomen tightly with one hand, trying to stop the bleeding, while her other hand weakly reached out to Amy, wanting to touch her, seeking some help or explanation, but Amy ruthlessly dodged her hand.
Lian's arm missed its target in mid-air, causing her to lose her balance and fall to the ground.
Amy stood there, looking down at Lean, who was lying on the ground, her eyes filled with a frenzied and twisted pleasure.
"That's right, that's the look in his eyes, that's the feeling, just like the situation back then!"
Her voice carried a morbid excitement, as if she were recalling a moment that brought her extreme pleasure.
Amy laughed wildly and unrestrainedly, her laughter echoing around the empty orphanage, sounding extremely jarring.
Her eyes held a morbid satisfaction, as if she had finally achieved some long-held wish.
"Do you know, Lian, do you know how much I hate you?" Amy crouched down, looking closely at Lian lying on the ground, and said almost to herself.
“I hate you even more than the man who tormented me. Why, why are you doing better than me?”
Amy's tone was filled with jealousy and anger, "Why did you even think of visiting me? Do you know how disgusted I felt when you first came to my house and I saw you standing at the door with your concern and pity?"
I even wanted to crawl into a hole and escape your sight. The humiliation of having my shame laid bare before me was far more unbearable than any physical pain.
"Afterwards, you even came to brag to me with your boyfriend. Were you always laughing at my misfortunes behind my back? When I saw you and your boyfriend together, I really wanted to end your life in the kitchen. But thankfully, it's not too late now."
As she spoke, Amy's tone carried a sense of relief, "Seeing you lying on the ground, bleeding profusely, I don't know why, but I felt a strange sense of relief, a rare feeling of comfort."
Amy's cold words echoed in Lian's ears, filling her heart with confusion and pain.
She couldn't understand why Amy would misunderstand her good intentions, why she would see genuine concern and help as mockery and showing off.
Lian only wanted to help her, to give her some warmth and hope, but he never expected it would end like this.
Despite being extremely weak, Lian tried her best to stand up, but her strength was slipping away like sand in an hourglass.
Her hands scratched at the cold ground, her fingertips turning white from the effort, but she could not find any foothold.
Amy watched coldly as Lian struggled, a maniacal smile spreading across her face.
"You can slowly savor this feeling of death all by yourself." There was not a trace of sympathy in her voice, only a morbid satisfaction and pleasure.
Then, Amy turned and left, her steps light, as if the tragedy that had just occurred had nothing to do with her. As she walked away, that chilling smile lingered on her face.
Lian tried his best to stay conscious, but the wound in his abdomen was like a bottomless pit, constantly oozing warm blood.
Her body was completely immersed in her own blood, staining the surrounding ground a terrifying red. Her vision began to blur, her breathing became weak, and the spark of her life was slowly dying out.
She kept telling herself that she couldn't die yet, that Leon was still waiting for her, that he had already gone through so much, and that if she left, perhaps there really wouldn't be anyone left to be with him.
She tried her best to crawl forward to where there were people, but her movements became slower and slower, and her consciousness became increasingly unclear.
He must be very anxious right now. It's all her fault. She should have brought him with her. She suddenly felt so regretful. She regretted coming to see Amy alone.
If, if he really died here, how would he feel? Would he be in great pain and feel helpless?
Will he forget himself over time? Will other women come along to keep him company?
I'm so unwilling to accept this. I haven't given him my scarf yet. I was thinking of putting it on him myself and seeing how he would react.
She wanted to continue being by his side, going to class with him, going shopping together, and eating together.
On her deathbed, Lian seemed to see a blurry figure rushing toward her.
Although she could no longer open her eyes, and although she could not see the person's face clearly, the familiar aura gave her a sense of peace.
She tried hard to open her eyes, wanting to see that person again, the one she loved so deeply.
Her heart was filled with longing; she longed to see him one more time.
.....
Leon pushed open the heavy door, the creaking of the hinges echoing in the empty room.
He looked around; everything in the room was in perfect order, as if waiting for its owner's return.
He couldn't help but take a deep breath; the air seemed to still carry a familiar scent, a faint, reassuring aroma.
He sat quietly on the bed, the sheets perfectly smooth without a single wrinkle. Turning his head, his gaze fell on a gray scarf lying on the bedside table.
Leon reached out and picked up the scarf, feeling its soft texture. He noticed delicate words woven into it, which were Leon's heartfelt wishes.
He slowly wrapped the scarf around his neck, and the warmth of the scarf instantly enveloped him, giving him an indescribable sense of comfort and security.
Leon stood up and walked to the desk, where a notebook stood out.
He slowly opened the diary and looked at the entries inside. Every word was filled with Lian's longing and care for him.
For some reason, Leon's heart began to ache slowly, a pain that seemed to pierce through his chest, yet he couldn't help but laugh silently, a bitter laugh.
Leon gently closed the diary, stroked the cover tenderly, and then placed it back in its original position, keeping the room tidy like the other items. He looked around the space filled with memories one last time.
In the end, he left the room with great reluctance, and the moment he closed the door, he felt as if his heart had been emptied.
