All-around teacher at the magic academy

Chapter 132 Raphael's Second Invitation

the next day.

As dawn broke, Leon got up early, tidied himself up, and went to his office to prepare for the next day's lessons.

His steps were light, and his mood was refreshed with the arrival of a new day.

However, as soon as he reached the office door, he saw a beautiful figure in a long black dress standing there, her figure standing out exceptionally in the morning light.

That was Aurora, her demeanor still so elegant and noble, as captivating as the moonlight at night.

Seeing Leon approach, Aurora excitedly jogged a few steps to meet him.

Leon smiled slightly, but a hint of doubt appeared in his eyes: "What's wrong? Is there something you need from my office so early?"

Aurora lowered her head slightly, her tone serious: "There are indeed some things, Teacher Leon. It's my brother who's looking for you."

Although her voice was soft, to Leon it was like a stone falling into a lake, creating ripples.

Leon's heart skipped a beat when he heard Aurora's words. To be honest, he had always tried to avoid having too much contact with Raphael.

Raphael always gave him a feeling of deliberate and fake intentions that were hard to put into words, as if every conversation concealed some unknown purpose.

Every time Leon talked to him, he felt like he was walking on a taut rope, having to be careful lest he slip and fall into an unknown abyss.

“Okay, let’s go straight there then.” Leon’s answer was decisive, but he couldn’t help feeling a little helpless.

He knew that Raphael's status was special, and as a teacher at the academy, it would be difficult for him to refuse the invitation. He could only sigh silently, realizing that sometimes one truly has no choice in the matter.

Leon followed Aurora through the academy's long corridor and arrived at a distinguished and elegantly decorated reception room. The moment he stepped inside, he saw a familiar figure.

His steps faltered involuntarily, and the turmoil in his heart almost betrayed him in that instant.

However, Leon quickly regained his composure in an instant. He knew he couldn't do anything suspicious, lest he arouse unnecessary suspicion and reveal his true feelings.

Although Leon moved quickly, he was still caught by Galli who was standing nearby.

Galli's eyes flickered slightly, but he didn't show it, assuming it was just Leon's natural nervousness upon seeing His Highness the Prince.

After all, it's understandable that an academy teacher would feel a little nervous when facing the prince of the kingdom.

"I'm sorry to bother you again, Professor Leon."

When he saw Leon enter the meeting room, Raphael stood up, greeted him in a friendly manner, and wore a polite smile.

"Not at all, not at all," Leon replied with a smile, though inwardly he was thinking, "If you really want to cause trouble, don't come to me." He gritted his teeth, maintaining the outward politeness.

"Let me introduce you. This is the vice-commander of the Knights, Gali," Raphael said with a smile, pointing to Gali beside him.

Leon feigned surprise and nodded slightly, extending his hand: "Hello, Vice Commander." Although his movements were fluid, his heart was in turmoil.

Galli extended his hand and gave Leon a brief handshake. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Professor Leon." His hand was firm and strong, and his eyes revealed a hint of scrutiny.

Leon tried to remain calm, believing he wouldn't be recognized, but despite constantly telling himself this, his heart was pounding uncontrollably, as if it might leap out of his chest at any moment.

“Don’t be nervous, Professor Leon.” Galli seemed to sense that something was wrong with Leon and said with a gentle smile, trying to ease the atmosphere.

"It would be a lie to say I'm not nervous. This is my first time meeting the vice-commander of the Knights. To be honest, I've always admired the Knights."

Leon explained with a smile, trying to make his voice sound as natural as possible. He knew he had to act more naturally, or he might arouse more suspicion.

"Would Teacher Leon consider joining the Knights?" Raphael asked with a hint of probing in his eyes and a smile.

Leon paused for a moment, then shook his head. "Never mind. The Dean has shown me great kindness, and I have a responsibility to the Academy. Besides, I personally don't enjoy fighting. Although I yearn for the Knights, I know I'm not cut out for it."

His tone was sincere, while also subtly expressing his stance.

“That’s such a pity,” Raphael sighed softly, seemingly regretting Leon’s decision.

"It's like this, Teacher Leon, after hearing Lucas's praise of you, Vice Commander Galli has been saying he really wants to come and meet you. So, he traveled all the way from the kingdom to Barton just to have a match with you."

Leon's brow furrowed almost imperceptibly. He knew he couldn't easily accept such a challenge, lest he expose his identity.

He sighed apologetically, “That’s really unfortunate, Your Highness. I’ve been quite busy with teaching these past few days, and to be honest, I’m also feeling a bit unwell. It’s really not suitable for me to fight again.”

His expression carried a hint of apology, as if he truly regretted not being able to accept Vice Commander Galli's invitation to spar.

“Alright then, it seems we’ve come at an inopportune time. Let’s talk again when you’re feeling better.” Raphael stood up, gracefully expressing his understanding, though a hint of lingering doubt seemed to remain in his eyes.

"I'm so sorry." Leon also stood up, apologetic smile on his face, as if he was truly regretful that he couldn't accept the challenge immediately.

“Then we won’t bother you any longer.” Raphael politely said goodbye, then turned to leave. Vice-Commander Galli also nodded to Leon, indicating his farewell.

Leon bowed and watched them walk away until they left the reception room, then he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

His expression remained apologetic, but inwardly he was beginning to relax. He continued to stand there until Raphael and Galli had completely disappeared from his sight, then slowly sat down and returned to normal.

He recalled his performance just now, silently reviewing every word and every action in his mind.

"Hmm, there shouldn't be any loopholes left," he reassured himself.
