All-around teacher at the magic academy
Chapter 108 Another Request
"Professor Leon, you wanted to see me?"
William's voice held a hint of nervousness as he cautiously observed the figure sitting behind the table. He had never had the chance to get close to Professor Leon before and knew nothing about the teacher's personality and character.
However, Hansen had told him that Mr. Leon was a very kind and approachable person, and William silently prayed that Hansen's words were true and not fabricated to comfort him.
"Is this William? Come in, don't be shy." Leon's voice was gentle and kind. He looked at William, who stood at the door looking a little timid, and gave him an encouraging smile.
“Yes,” William replied, and walked quietly to the table. His heart was beating slightly faster, but he tried his best to appear calm.
"You and Hansen are on good terms?" Leon looked at William with gentle eyes, his tone calm, as if it were just a casual question, but the question made William's heart race.
William lowered his head, his fingers unconsciously twisting together as he carefully considered the meaning behind Professor Leon's words.
Hansen's sudden disappearance, the intervention of law enforcement, and the rumors circulating in the academy all unsettled William. He hesitated, unsure whether he should reveal everything about Hansen or tell Professor Leon about their secret.
Leon didn't interrupt William's thoughts, but simply sat there quietly, waiting for William to speak. From William's conflicted expression, he could tell that the young man was carefully considering how to answer.
“Yes.” William finally raised his head, a hint of determination in his eyes. He felt there was no need to hide it; after all, Teacher Leon had been very kind to Hansen and had taught him a lot of magic, so he probably wouldn’t harm Hansen.
"Do you know where he went?"
“I don’t know either,” William said in a low voice, feeling a pang of anxiety as he recalled the events of that day.
“I just told him someone wanted to harm him, and then he disappeared.” A hint of urgency flashed in William’s eyes. After learning of the danger, he immediately went to find Hansen. He had to tell him the news, he had to make him realize that he could no longer stay in Barton City. Anywhere was safer than here, as long as he could live.
"Okay, that works then."
"Is there something you need from Hansen?" William probed cautiously, wanting to know if Professor Leon knew something he didn't.
"It's nothing, I just hope he's safe and sound."
"There's nothing else, you can go back now."
“Yes,” William replied. He stood up, bowed slightly to Leon, and then turned and left the office.
As Leon watched William's departing figure, Hansen came to mind once again.
If he stays at the academy, I can provide him with some protection and ensure his life is not in any danger. But if he leaves on his own, he needs to be prepared, because he will have to face whatever comes his way alone.
People always have to try to grow up and learn to face things independently. This is an inevitable part of growing up. Leon can only respect Hansen's choice and just hope that the two of them will meet again in the future.
.....
Just as Leon was lost in thought, a knock on the door broke the silence of the room. He frowned slightly, feeling somewhat puzzled. He remembered that he had only called William over and hadn't notified anyone else. This unexpected visitor surprised him.
"Please come in," Leon replied calmly, his voice carrying a hint of professional politeness.
The door was gently pushed open, and Aurora appeared in the doorway, her smile as warm as the sun: "Teacher Leon."
Leon looked up and, seeing Aurora, his expression showed a hint of surprise. "Oh? Is there something you need?"
It must be said that Aurora's temperament is always so noble yet approachable, making people feel comfortable.
“My brother needs to speak with you. I’m just here to deliver a message,” Aurora stated her purpose directly.
Leon nodded, already having a guess in his mind. He could roughly guess why Prince Raphael had come to see him. He sighed helplessly to himself; some things were unavoidable.
"Is that so? Where is he?"
"It's right here in the academy."
Leon got up, straightened his clothes, and followed Aurora out of the office.
...
Leon entered the reception room, his gaze falling upon the elegant and composed figure seated there, with Lucas, the vice-captain of the knightly order, standing beside him. Leon smiled and nodded to them.
"Sorry to keep you waiting," Leon said, his tone tinged with apology.
"No, no, no, it's us who are troubling you. We hope you can understand." Raphael stood up and responded with a smile. His attitude was friendly, as if he and Leon were old friends who hadn't seen each other for many years.
“It’s no trouble at all.” Although he did feel some inconvenience, he also understood that some requests were difficult to refuse, especially those from the prince.
“It’s something I mentioned to you before. Lucas has been talking about it constantly, saying he absolutely has to have a match with you. I have no choice but to accept it,” Raphael explained, his tone slightly mocking, as if he found Lucas’s persistence somewhat amusing.
"Oh, so that's what it is. Well, since you're here and I happen to be free, let's have a quick chat."
Leon's smile carried a hint of perfunctoriness; his mind was only focused on how to quickly end this unexpected challenge so that he could continue dealing with other matters.
“That’s wonderful.” Raphael’s smile revealed a satisfied expression, as if he was very happy that Leon had agreed.
"Please guide me, Professor Leon," Lucas said respectfully, bowing slightly, but his eyes revealed an unwavering determination.
"It's not a matter of instruction, we're just exchanging ideas." Leon waved his hand, trying to downplay the seriousness of the competition, hoping it would just be a lighthearted sparring session.
However, Lucas didn't seem to see this match as a simple exchange. His eyes gleamed with competition, clearly indicating that he viewed it as an opportunity to prove his abilities.
Leon noticed Lucas's attitude, and he frowned slightly, sensing that the situation seemed to be deviating from his expectations.
He had initially thought it was just a formality, but now it seemed Lucas intended to take it seriously.
