Chapter 85 The battle of genocide

Pushkin then suddenly realized, "So we're forcing them to fight us?"

Agreed nodded and continued, "These mind flayers are terrifying. Their main brains are exceptionally intelligent and cunning, so their strength must be absolutely terrifying. We need to be prepared. Normally, mind flayers would build their brain pools in the center of their city, but these mind flayers didn't. They've even resorted to the clever trick of having multiple burrows, which worries me greatly. After all, a cunning viper is always more frightening than a raging wolf, because when there is no absolute power difference, intelligence is the most terrifying weapon."

Pushkin nonchalantly encouraged them, "It's alright, we will definitely win, no matter how powerful our enemy is."

Agreed shook his head helplessly; listening to Pushkin's inspiring lies did not reassure him.

Soon the group arrived at the Brain Pool. For safety, the Mind Flayers had hidden the Brain Pool in a lower part of the Underworld, meaning it was hidden in a space that had been created by expanding and opening up the Underworld.

Argreed quickly located the exact location of the brain pool using earth elemental magic. He then struck the ground with his staff, instantly creating a huge crack that revealed the space below. Argreed then used earth elemental magic again to create steps and led his troops down.

At that moment, the Soul Devouring Elders suddenly attacked, unleashing a massive surge of spiritual energy that destroyed the steps. The leaders, Agreed and Pushkin, along with their soldiers, crashed heavily to the ground, while most of the troops who hadn't yet entered were left behind.

Immediately afterward, the Soul Devouring Elders exerted their power again, their psionic energy pressing down on Agreed and the others like a ton of ice. Several weak soldiers were instantly crushed by the terrifying pressure, while Agreed immediately saved himself by casting the blood magic 'Multiple Hearts Mastery'. Sixteen hearts appeared before him, and with a thought from Agreed, all the illusory heart images were destroyed. Instantly, screams of agony rose and fell from all around, and the pressure on Agreed and the others completely disappeared.

Pushkin stood up easily. The pressure he had just experienced had not actually affected him. It was just too sudden. If he had three more seconds, he would have been able to fully adapt to the pressure and rush over to kill those Heart-Eating Demons.

At this moment, Agred coughed twice, slightly out of breath, and slowly got up. Then, Agred turned around and shouted to Milton above, "Milton! You and everyone stay in place and take a defensive stance to buy us time. As long as we take down the Brain Pool and the Mainframe, we can say that we have won a great victory!"

“Okay, I’ll arrange it right away. Be careful!” Milton replied from above.

At this moment, Pushkin looked at Agred with concern and asked, "Are you alright?"

Agrell shook his head and said, "It's alright, I won't die. Luckily, I have body tempering, otherwise even a forbidden spell mage would probably have perished here. Most of the Heart-Eating Demon elders should be dead, and now only the mainframe is probably left. However, I've basically lost my ability to fight." As he spoke, Agrell looked at the dim crystal ball on his staff. Without blood magic, he had lost his trump card for survival, and now he could only take it one step at a time.

Looking at the mostly half-dead soldiers behind him, Pushkin asked worriedly, "What should we do with these soldiers?"

Agreed said helplessly, "Those beasts are very clever. They knew we were wearing protective gear against mental attacks, so they directly destroyed our bodies using the simplest and most terrifying method of psychic manipulation. Even I almost got hurt. They are basically incapable of fighting anymore. Let them stay here and see if we can rescue them later."

"Since you're so reluctant to part with them, why don't you just die here with them?" At that moment, an old voice suddenly echoed in the minds of Agred and Pushkin.

Instantly, immense pressure struck again, crushing all the soldiers. Blood and foul-smelling liquid splattered everywhere. Arged and Pushkin were unharmed. Then, a two-meter-tall mind flayer with a massive head appeared before them. He spoke again, "Guests from afar, I must admit you are extremely troublesome and difficult to deal with. I have eliminated countless forbidden spellcasters and legendary warriors who have ventured into the underground world, but you are the only ones who have made it to the Brain Pool. Get acquainted, I am the mastermind here, 'Ackerman Blitz'."

Argreed stared at the mainframe in horror and exclaimed in disbelief, "Impossible! The mainframe is an integrated neuronal brain composed of the brains of dead mind flayers, how could you possibly have a physical form!"

Akaman chuckled and said, "Normally, that's true. The main brain was originally just a leader that issued orders and set the direction for the entire mind flayer race, but... as more and more mind flayer brains merged with me, I slowly developed intelligence. I began to learn psionic energy, I began to comprehend the mysteries of the world, and I began to try to break free from the brain pool and become a complete life form! One day I succeeded. I broke free from the main brain and reached the realm of demigod. I used my supreme power to control the entire mind flayer race. Now, as long as I offer enough sacrifices to my god, my god will grant me new power, giving me the opportunity to stand shoulder to shoulder with the gods!"

After hearing this, Agreed immediately mocked, "I thought you were so smart, but you're just another guy who got fooled by empty promises. If you were a god, would you share your power with others?"

Akaman frowned in displeasure and said, "How could trash like you possibly know the thoughts and ideas of God!"

Agreed sarcastically remarked incredulously, "You actually believe in the nonsense of the Cthulhu God? Those guys have brains that are as bizarre as madmen, and you actually place your hopes on them? Seriously, buddy, are you an idiot?!"

"Shut up!" Ackerman roared, then unleashed a burst of psionic energy at Agred, who was instantly sent flying backward. At the same time, Pushkin, after being struck by the psionic energy, turned into a phantom image—a mirror image clone!

At the same time, Pushkin circled around to Ackerman's back and thrust the divine sword directly into Ackerman's heart. Ackerman reacted extremely quickly and used his psychic power to control the sword, but the sword pierced Ackerman's heart without any hindrance and shattered his heart.

Ackerman instantly unleashed his power, sending Pushkin and his sword flying. His wounds then rapidly healed, returning to normal. Looking at Pushkin, he couldn't help but praise, "What a terrifying weapon! My psionic energy couldn't even control it, and it instantly broke through my defenses. Fortunately, as a demigod, I no longer have any vital organs, otherwise, that attack of yours would definitely have killed me."

At this moment, Agreed stood up again, and all sorts of magic, seemingly without any magical power, swept towards Ackerman. Pushkin rushed forward as well, and after many hardships, the two finally launched a full-scale attack on the mind flayer's mastermind!
