Chapter 78 Follow

Looking at the now mature man before him, Agreed said with emotion, "It seems I was narrow-minded. You've really changed, becoming more like a hero than before. So, what are your plans for the next step?"

"What other plans can we have? We'll continue traveling around the world and save as many people as we can," Pushkin said helplessly.

Pushkin then took out a bottle of wine, shook it, and said, "Have a drink with me, and we can also chat about how you've all been these past few years."

Agreed readily accepted, and the two drank and chatted for a long time, starting from their parting in Augustus and continuing from afternoon until night.

"So you and Hepburn have children? I'd better go see my little niece when I have time," Pushkin said with a smile.

"Of course, Hepburn often talks about you, she's always grateful to you for helping her escape the palace."

Pushkin waved his hand and said, "Such trivial matters are not worth mentioning. To bring them up would be too formal. It's only right. But your progress over the years has been truly remarkable. You're about to become a legendary archmage, and becoming a forbidden spellcaster is just around the corner."

Agreed waved his hand and said, "Don't flatter me. You've become a legendary warrior, why are you still saying these things? You've become the ceiling of combat power on this continent. Impressive, you're usually so unassuming, and now you've become a legendary warrior? How come I've never heard of you before?"

"That's all thanks to your cultivation technique. I took a shortcut by using magic crystals to temper my body, so my progress was naturally rapid. You also cultivate both internal and external aspects. If you had only focused on one path, you might have already surpassed me and reached a level I wouldn't even dare to dream of. As for why I don't have a title..."

At this point, Pushkin sighed and continued, "Remember what I said before? As the price for their support, all the credit for anything we do belongs to the Church of Light. Many of the Church of Light's seemingly respectable achievements over the years were accomplished by us brothers at the cost of our lives."

Agreed immediately burst into a tirade: "Those bastards from the Church of Light did nothing but take all the credit. And with their treacherous schemes that thrive on chaos, they might even have started some of the trouble. So, I suppose all those glorious achievements they've been touting, all that publicly known history, are actually from you guys?"

Pushkin helplessly spread his hands and said, "What can we do? We're living under someone else's roof."

The two chatted for a long time, sighing with emotion, before reluctantly returning to their respective lodgings to rest.

The next morning

As Pushkin mounted his unicorn and prepared to lead his men to other countries, Agreed caught up on his dragon steed, shouting, "Commander Pushkin! I wonder if the Church of Light will tolerate an idle man like me?"

Pushkin looked at him with surprise and asked in surprise, "Why are you here?"

Agreed laughed and said, "I was encouraged by you, and since I was just sitting around in this country anyway, I figured I might as well go with you. After all, we can save as many as we can, right?"

"What about Hepburn and the children?" Pushkin asked with some concern.

"Don't worry, I've settled everything and written a letter home, asking my teammates to take care of my family. I'm not going to stay here forever; I'll go back as soon as the beast tide is over, it won't be long."

Pushkin looked at him, his eyes slightly red, and not knowing what to say, he could only gratefully say, "Thank you, old friend."

Agreed leaned over and punched him on the shoulder, saying, "It's too formal to say that to me." The two smiled at each other and bumped fists to express their friendship that transcends time.

……

Fourteen days later

A certain country's Warcraft wasteland

A tiger-like magical beast was chasing two knights from the Order of Light. The knights didn't even dare to look back and ran forward desperately. The magical tiger was a high-level magical beast that could rival a paladin. If it caught up with them, their chances of survival would be slim. Fortunately, the two knights' mission was only to lure it here.

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning struck the demon tiger from the sky, knocking it to the ground. However, the demon tiger did not die due to its powerful physique. Just then, five bolts of lightning as thick as bowls appeared again, instantly killing the demon tiger on the spot. Its corpse was charred into a crisp. Then, the magic crystal inside its body was detonated, and with a loud bang, the corpse was completely obliterated without leaving a trace.

The two knights wiped the sweat from their brows in fear. One of them shouted into the distance, "Mr. Witch, if you had been any slower, we would have all died!"

Agreed emerged from the bushes behind him and reassured them, "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing. I'll keep you safe."

Another knight chimed in, "That's right, don't worry, Lord Magician is second only to our captain in strength."

The knights nodded in agreement. In the past few days, the monstrous mage in front of them had really opened their eyes. Despite being only a mage, he could cast seventh-level spells instantly like a forbidden spellcaster, and even faster. Moreover, his swordsmanship and melee combat ability far surpassed everyone in the knights except for Commander Pushkin. He was a terrifying figure who was proficient in both magic and martial arts and far surpassed his peers.

Suddenly, a huge explosion came from afar. Agreed looked in that direction and said, "It seems that Pushkin's situation is over too. Let's go and meet up." After saying that, Agreed whistled, and his dragon steed galloped over. Then, Agreed mounted the horse and led the two knights to meet Pushkin.

Arged quickly arrived at Pushkin's location and saw a ground littered with monster corpses and a pervasive stench in the air. Arged laughed and shouted, "You've made quite a commotion! I'm done over there too. Where do we go next?"

Pushkin anxiously called out to Agred, "I have just received news from the country's scouts that a nearby village was attacked by the Eit monsters five days ago. We must hurry there to see if we can rescue any survivors."

Upon hearing this news, Agreed exclaimed in surprise and disbelief, "It?! Aren't those disgusting humanoid spiders supposed to only live in forests and caves? This is a plain! And they don't attack humans unless they like the texture and taste of humans."

Pushkin agreed, saying, "Indeed, it sounds incredible, but it's better to be safe than sorry, and according to the scout, there's probably more than one Itt monster!"

“More than one!” Agreed exclaimed in surprise again. After all, the Ete monsters were more like human shepherds, and each Ete monster had at least a hundred spider monsters under its command. According to this information, that town was now a huge spider monster den.

Agreed then concluded, "Then I don't think there are any survivors there. Hundreds or thousands of spider monsters have quite a appetite."
