Chapter 42 Dungeon War

The tragedy happened very suddenly. The goblins that appeared in a surprise attack taught those naive new adventurers and academy students a good lesson. Screams filled the air behind the dungeon, and blood and fire were displayed before everyone's eyes at that moment.

Agreed looked at the suddenly appearing goblin soldiers clad in iron armor with a very serious expression. It was obvious that these goblins were their elite force, and those beasts had planned from the beginning to use the strategy of "Tian Ji's horse racing" to win on other battlefields, and even to take hostages to gain a strategic advantage.

Agreed exchanged a glance with his companions, and the four of them immediately went down to help their comrades who had been ambushed by goblins. Milton took out his homemade enchanted item, the 'Smoke Bomb,' and threw it on the ground, immediately creating a large amount of white smoke that obscured their vision. Hepburn quickly used the gloves she had obtained from Milton, which could amplify strength, to carry away the wounded who were still alive and fed them her homemade healing potions.

With the help of Agreed's 'Clarity' spell, Pushkin used smoke and his divine sword to launch a one-sided massacre against the goblins. Meanwhile, Agreed constantly used various minor spells to interfere with and interrupt the goblins' sneak attacks, and occasionally used his self-created spell, Ice Needle, to snipe the troublesome elite goblin soldiers.

With the help of the four, the students quickly regained their footing. As time passed and the smoke dissipated, the goblins regained their vision, but they had lost their initial advantage. Meanwhile, the humans, with the help of Agreed and the others, were prepared and no longer caught off guard as before.

Then the humans began to display their might. The students from the Summoning Academy summoned their battle pets and slaughtered the goblins, who fled in disarray. The leader of the Summoning Academy, 'Leline,' even summoned a giant demon-horned electric lizard, causing the goblins to suffer greatly. Jones from the Magic Sword Academy (who had escaped the beast tide by leaving early during the last trial in the Beast Forest because he was seriously injured by Agreed) led his subordinates to use chain magic to make the goblins flee in terror.

Just when everyone thought victory was in sight, a ratman suddenly appeared with a flamethrower in his hand. The ratman pulled the trigger, and a deadly jet of fire shot out from the muzzle, instantly turning several students into fire people.

Agreed instantly released several water spheres to extinguish the flames on his companions. At the same time, Pushkin rushed forward and swung his sword at the ratman fire-breathing soldier. The ratman aimed his gun at Pushkin's terrifying pillar of fire and appeared again, but it did not expect that the divine sword would unleash its power at this moment, absorbing all the flames into the sword. Thus, the ratman fire-breathing soldier was directly beheaded and died without knowing why.

Just as the ratman flamethrower soldier died, a second, a third... dozens of ratman flamethrower soldiers wearing flamethrower devices surrounded Agred and his companions. Just as they were about to roast Agred and his men alive, Agred shouted, "Close your eyes!"

Then, Agred unleashed his self-created sixth-tier spell, 'Wide-Range Blinding,' instantly blinding all the ratmen. Agred then shouted again, 'Attack!' As he spoke, he instantly fired sixteen ice needles at the ratman fire-breathing soldiers, annihilating a large group of enemies in the blink of an eye.

The mages also came to their senses and used magic to bombard the ratman fire-breathing soldiers. The ratman fire-breathing soldiers were instantly eliminated, but the appearance of huge footsteps made Agreed's relaxed mood tighten instantly.

A five-meter-tall Goblin King, clad in heavy armor and wielding a spiked club, appeared before the crowd, followed by numerous goblin warriors. The goblins screamed and charged towards the exhausted students.

The mages immediately unleashed a barrage of magic upon the goblins, but a few sporadic goblins managed to escape the spells and engage the adventurers in their path in battle.

The real problem was the Goblin King. His enormous size and fine armor allowed him to ignore attacks from low-level magic and charge out. Agreed looked at the enchanted armor on his body and felt a sense of unease. He couldn't help but wonder if this guy's equipment was really something that goblins could make.

Before Agreed could think further, the Goblin King had already arrived, wielding his hammer. With a single blow, more than ten adventurers were sent flying and killed instantly. Seeing this, Pushkin stepped forward and swung his divine sword, aiming straight for the Goblin King's heart. The Goblin King hurriedly raised his spiked club to block, and the divine sword instantly pierced a hole in the club. However, the Goblin King used this opportunity to jam the divine sword, slapping Pushkin away and taking the sword from him.

As Pushkin was repelled, Agreed immediately exhausted his soul to cast the seventh-tier spell 'Shattering Lightning'. A massive bolt of lightning, imbued with ferocious power and difficult to defend against, struck the Goblin King in the blink of an eye. The poor Goblin King was instantly electrocuted, foaming at the mouth, and clearly on the verge of death. After using this attack, Agreed's magic power was completely depleted. He weakly leaned on his wand and shouted, "Finish him off quickly! That attack might not kill him outright. Give him a good whack on the head to ensure his safety."

Milton immediately complied, finishing off the goblin and then returning Pushkin's sword to him. While Agred and the others rested on the spot, the remaining members, under Agred's command, launched a final siege against the remaining goblin warriors.

Before anyone knew it, Agreed had become the commander of these people. Under his command, the scattered soldiers below the rank of archmage united together and efficiently cleared the dungeon area. Everyone obeyed the young commander's every word, and Agreed had become the backbone of everyone.

Meanwhile, the outcome on the main battlefield was also decided. Under the terrifying power of the sixteen legendary mages, the ratmen, despite their stubborn resistance, were ultimately slaughtered. The ratmen king was dragged out and beheaded as a warning, and what followed was a one-sided massacre.

The slaughter lasted for a full fifteen hours. The dungeon had become a living hell filled with corpses and stench. Skaven and goblins, young and old, male and female, were all reduced to corpses under human feet. Their houses were destroyed and their treasures were looted. The ugliness of life was exposed at this moment. Looking at the scene before him, Agreed couldn't help but sigh. Perhaps this was the essence of war.

Later, the earth elemental mages used the tenth-tier magic 'Earth Power' to fill and bury the entire dungeon again. Agreed looked at the destroyed dungeon and his own hands and felt a sense of guilt. But Agreed knew in his heart that this was a war between races, without right or wrong, good or evil. The winners won everything and the losers lost everything. This is war.

“I’m sorry, we don’t have a choice. If only one of us can live, I would prefer to be the one who lives!” Agreed turned around and muttered to himself, as if he were talking to himself and to the dead.
