Chapter 19 Aunt Wang visits Deng Yin
Uncle Li cooked dinner; he brought a lot of ingredients, even the seasonings.
The table was full of food. Deng Yin originally wanted to take a can of food, but the table was already full and there was no room at all.
Uncle Li's cooking was as delicious as ever, and Deng Yin ate three bowls of rice in a row.
No one dislikes a child who eats a lot. Under the influence of Deng Yin and Wang Xi, Uncle Li and Aunt Wang both ate an extra bowl of rice compared to usual.
After finishing her meal, Deng Yin thought she would sit in the courtyard with everyone to digest their food. It was then that she witnessed firsthand the power of the two horses.
Deng Yin's yard is considered large, but it only has a small vegetable garden and a recliner, making it look quite empty.
Even so, she almost couldn't let go of the things Aunt Wang was carrying.
Although she was mentally prepared, it seems she was still far too unprepared.
Aunt Wang is quite the show-off; she managed to cram so much stuff into such a small carriage.
This made Deng Yin's joke seem less impressive.
While Aunt Wang and Uncle Li were washing dishes, Deng Yin slipped into the carriage, lined with cotton and stuffing the gaps with food and toys.
They were eating canned food, and Deng Yin could tell that these two people could afford such a good horse, and they also had a house in a good school district. Their savings might even be more than hers.
They've basically eaten all the usual food, so if you're going to send them something, send them something they haven't tried before.
A lot of cloth was also stuffed in, otherwise cotton alone would be useless. Most people here know how to make clothes, and some even started out making cloth.
The return journey was much lighter than the journey there, but Deng Yin was still worried that the horse wouldn't be able to keep up, so he fed it a lot of water.
The horse was indeed much more energetic after drinking the drink, and it even had more energy to eat grass than before.
Wang Xi had liked the toys she bought before, but since she couldn't fit them all in, she took her two favorites.
Since there was a carriage this time, Deng Yin simply packed all his toys inside, including the ones he had recently bought from his previous stockpile.
I originally planned to play with it when I got home, or sell it as an antique. The richer people are, the more they like to buy things that have been around for a long time.
Thinking about it now, I'd better not. Deng Yin, with 50 million, is already considered a wealthy man.
Having money all of a sudden feels a bit strange; I still hold onto the idea that I shouldn't waste it.
Aunt Wang, Wang Xi, and Deng Yin slept together that night, while Uncle Li had a room by himself. The three of them seemed to have endless things to talk about and didn't go to sleep until midnight.
I planned to leave early the next morning, but no one got up except Uncle Li.
After having breakfast, they chatted for a while before Aunt Wang and the others left.
Wang Xi didn't want to leave, so she squatted on the ground and cried loudly.
Aunt Wang had no choice. If she didn't have to go to school, that would be fine; she could stay for a couple more days. But now was a crucial time for her studies.
Deng Yin squatted down facing Wang Xi, patting her head as he said, "Xi Xi is the strongest child. Strong children don't cry when they leave someone else's home. I like strong children the most. Is Xi Xi a strong child?"
Wang Xi cried so hard that she couldn't stop for a moment, and answered through sobs, "Xi Xi is a strong child."
"Good girl." Deng Yin patted her head and praised her. Then, as if by magic, he pulled out two wooden figures from behind his back. "This wooden figure is the older sister, and this wooden figure is Xi Xi. They can sense each other's emotions."
"Here, take this." Deng Yin handed the wooden carving that represented herself to Wang Xi. "Sister, keep Xi Xi's wooden carving. If you miss your sister in the future, just tell the carving that your sister will come to see you when she has time."
Wang Xi finally stopped crying, tears still clinging to her eyelashes: "Really?"
Deng Yin nodded solemnly. "Of course it's true. Your sister even put a lot of toys in the carriage for you. Go and see if you like them."
Still a child at heart, he couldn't resist the temptation of the toys and quickly ran towards the carriage.
After settling the child's matter, Deng Yin instructed Aunt Wang, "The weather is strange this year; it's only July and it's already so cold. I've put some cotton and cloth in the carriage to make a couple more sets of clothes and quilts."
Aunt Wang also noticed this problem, and among the things she sent to Deng Yin was a cotton quilt.
But since it was the child's kind gesture, I didn't refuse. "Okay, when you have time, come stay at my house for a while, or you can just pack up and come live with us in the city. Just treat my house as your own; I've even saved a room for you."
Uncle Li could tell that Deng Yin was unwilling to go, so he quickly persuaded him, "Alright, alright, it's already this late. If we don't leave now, it will be dawn before we get home."
He then said to Deng Yin, "Come visit your uncle's house when you have time, and I'll cook you something delicious."
Deng Yin gave a sweet smile and said in a crisp voice, "Okay!"
Deng Yin was worried that the horse wouldn't be able to hold on, so he specially filled two water bags with water from his spatial storage. "This water is from a stream. I saw that the small animals around here like to drink it, so I took some to feed the horse."
Aunt Wang was surprised by her thoughtfulness and accepted it with a smile.
Streams are hard to find now, and where there is water, there are plants. Deng Yin must have stored it before.
After saying goodbye to the family, Deng Yincai began tidying up the yard.
The items in the yard eventually occupied 20 square meters of space, mostly vegetables. Deng Yin even found gold coins in a box.
There are five in total.
Deng Yin's expression remained unchanged as he closed the box and stuffed the contents into the jade bracelet.
The houses in the city aren't necessarily very sturdy either; we still need to clean up the basement first.
In addition to painting the walls, we also need to divide the space into individual rooms.
Cypress metal is non-stick to water, oil, and dust, commonly known as the "three non-stick" metal, and all the dyes here fall within this non-stick range.
The best way is to build a layer of bricks inside to serve as a wall.
There's still a lot of cement left from the last collection, which is perfect for using as bricks.
Including the canned food given to Aunt Wang this time, there are now a total of 23 cans.
The bricks were rectangular, and so were the tin cans.
Making bricks is a very long process; it takes about half an hour to make 23 bricks.
It's too slow. By the time the bricks are finished, this natural disaster will be over.
Deng Yin started eating canned food for every meal. The more canned food he ate, the more bricks he could make the next time he made bricks.
If she had never eaten real food, she could totally tolerate eating canned food.
For her now, canned food is not as appealing as boiled cabbage.
