My sister is Luna

Chapter 9 The Daughter of Moonlight

"Luna, don't overwork yourself." Catherine gently hugged Luna, her eyes filled with weariness and sorrow, a few strands of white hair at her temples, and a few wrinkles at the corners of her eyes. The "Kain defection" that happened more than ten days ago had dealt her a heavy blow and saddened her, making this young mother look a few years older.

Kate slumped against the sofa, her weathered face covered in stubble, her eyes etched with dark circles, staring blankly at the spot on the table that belonged to Cain.

"Mom, I don't believe what my brother said. There must be something going on. I could tell he looked strange! I've made up my mind. I'm going to find him, I'm going to bring my brother back, and clear his name!"

Luna, now a stunningly beautiful woman, sat in front of her dressing table and said firmly, "Even if... even if it's true, I will bring him back and give the family an explanation."

She didn't believe her brother Cain would kill the chieftain for no reason; there must be a reason, and she wanted to ask him directly.

"Your father and I believed in him, but he just left like that. This has led everyone in the village to believe that he did it. As a traitor to the family, he has even been put on the wanted list. These days, you have also been subjected to strange looks from others because of this. Sigh, go, it's good. You won't have to bear their pressure. Bring your brother back and the family will be reunited. It's just that your father and I have suffered, sitting at home, hoping for you. We don't know when you will be able to come back."

Catherine sighed softly and said that they were too old to travel anymore.

"Mom, don't worry, I'll bring my brother back soon. You won't have to wait long."

Luna wiped her slightly moist eyes. This was an unknown journey of unknown length, and when she was reunited with her parents again, she didn't know how many years would have passed.

"Okay, okay, we'll be waiting for your good news. I'll have a good talk with Cain then, for abandoning our family!" Cain's mother smiled again and hugged Luna tightly. "In the blink of an eye, our little Luna has grown into a beautiful young woman. You've all grown up and started your own paths. Your father and I are very proud of you."

“Go home if you’re tired,” said Kate, the father.

"If everything goes well, let us have a grandson as soon as Cain comes back," Catherine said, holding Luna's hand. Her father echoed her sentiments.

"Mom and Dad!" The girl blushed deeply, her face flushed with shyness.

"Hahaha." The only response she received was her parents' teasing smiles.

"Mom and Dad, I'm leaving now." Luna patted her face, tidied her makeup and equipment, and got up to walk towards the door.

"Ah."

Behind her, her parents watched her leave with reluctance in their eyes.

Stepping out of her home, Luna walked along the village road. Amidst the strange looks from the villagers—"Look, isn't that the traitor Cain's sister?" "Like brother, like sister." "What a beautiful girl, it's a pity she had such an unfortunate family situation"—Luna paid no heed. With a heroic and composed air, she left the village and ventured into the outside world.

As a heavy shackle in her heart shattered, Luna felt a sense of ease and freedom she had never experienced before.

She embarked on a journey to find her brother, deciding to head west first.

Brother, I will definitely bring you back. I don't want to be a sister without a brother.

The fame of Luna, the Daughter of Moonlight, began to appear on this grand stage of kings.

……

Inside a noisy tavern.

"Haha, come on, drink, keep drinking!" A bald, burly man, his face flushed, said drunkenly, his arm around a young man.

"Brother, I can't drink anymore. I have to go pick up a mission later," the young man with short blond hair, whose face was ordinary but whose eyes held a determined look, declined.

"Ah, take on a mission? What missions are available lately? The pay is pitifully low." The bald, burly man took a swig of liquor and said.

"I'll just take the job that pays the most," the young man said casually.

As if remembering something, the bald, burly man suddenly jumped up and shouted:

"No way, Kuang Tie, you're not thinking of taking that 'murderer's' mission, are you? We all know you're brave and fearless in the mercenary group, but you can't just go and die. That suddenly appearing murderer is not someone you can handle. The Temple's bounty has already reached 200,000 gold coins, and Haidu has even reached 300,000, regardless of life or death. But few mercenaries who have taken this mission have returned, and it's said that their deaths were extremely gruesome, cut in half at the waist. Although mercenaries live a life of licking blood from the edge of a knife, yesterday several top mercenary groups cooperated on this mission, and the result... a total wipeout. The search team only found their mangled corpses. You need to think this through. If you already have suicidal tendencies, then disregard what I said."

"How could that be? I won't take that mission. I'm completely unqualified." Kuang Tie smiled wryly, gently swirling the wine in his glass, and said:

"I've taken on a mission to escort a merchant, and the pay is decent."

"Oh, really? You scared me." The bald, burly man breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this, then poured more wine into his mouth: "You're someone I had high hopes for. It would be a real shame if you just went to your death like that."

"Boss, a juice, please." A clear, melodious voice broke the noisy atmosphere filled with men.

The sound attracted everyone's attention, and they all turned to look. Not far away stood a woman with a tall and voluptuous figure and a powerful queen-like aura, which scared away some lecherous men who wanted to flirt with her.

She attracted everyone's attention. Everyone turned to look, and saw a woman standing not far away. She was tall and slender, and her dress, as white as the night sky, hugged her curvaceous figure.

Her silver hair cascaded like moonlight, and her exquisitely beautiful face, as if meticulously sculpted, exuded a cold and aloof aura that made her unapproachable. Her skin was as white as snow, as delicate as silk, and as smooth and warm as mutton-fat jade. Her pale blue eyes surveyed the crowd, revealing a hint of coldness and majesty, inspiring awe in all who beheld them. Beneath her high, straight nose, her lips were pressed into a thin line, as if she were always on guard.

Such outstanding looks and a powerful aura caused the lecherous men around her, who had originally intended to approach her with ill intentions, to immediately back down. They were intimidated by the aura emanating from this cold and beautiful woman, and only dared to spy from afar, no longer having the slightest courage to approach and provoke her.

Luna frowned as she looked at the tavern filled with men, but there was nothing she could do; it was the only tavern she could find right now.

Never mind, I'll just make do and leave after I finish eating.

Not wanting to cause trouble, Luna found a secluded spot to sit down.

"Sir, besides juice, what would you like to order?" the tavern waiter asked Luna as he hurried over.

“A little more food will suffice,” Luna said coldly.

"Okay, okay." The waiter wiped the cold sweat from his brow after drinking and quickly ran to the kitchen.

This guest doesn't seem like a good person. Hopefully, those mercenaries won't lose their minds.

"Hey, here comes a beautiful woman."

"Wow, look how long her breasts are! Oh no, I misspoke, I mean look how big her legs are! Oh, no, anyway, my nose is about to bleed."

"If I could have a one-night stand with this beautiful woman, I'd die happy."

"..."

Various voices murmured sparsely in the tavern.

This only made Luna amplify her icy aura even more.

Why do I suddenly feel so cold? And why do I suddenly feel so uninterested in that beautiful woman?

"Damn, you're actually bored with such a beautiful woman?! Are you gay?"

"What did you say? You want to fight? You little punk!"

"Come on then, who's afraid of who!"

"come!"

"come!"

The tavern was thrown into chaos, but no one tried to stop it. They just sat there watching the commotion, and a joyful atmosphere filled the air.

A head of silver hair...

Kuang Tie glanced at Luna for a moment, then suddenly remembered that time was running out and hurriedly left.
