My sister is Luna

Chapter 187 Hell (Part 2)

With this realization, a scene appeared before his eyes: his feet touched the ground, and Cain saw it.

—I saw hell, with mountains burning in the distance, and heat waves rolling and distorting space like faces crammed together.

I saw hell, where swords clashed and countless heart-wrenching wars of the past left behind a desolate world of mountains of corpses and seas of blood, where nothing remained.

They saw hell, the sorrowful sufferers, and heard the cries of thousands of people filled with resentment.

"It hurts so much, I hate it so much—"

Why are we being treated like this?!

"Where are you? Where are you?"

"We welcomed you, you despicable strangers!"

"We are born free, who dares to look down on us?"

"For freedom—!"

"Stand up! Refuse to be slaves!"

"I want to go home..."

Countless chaotic sounds, some mournful, some passionate, some sorrowful...

The figures are indistinct and swaying, heading towards where in this endless hell?

Endless tragedy entered Cain's eyes and filled his ears.

Countless spatial scenes spun before his eyes like a kaleidoscope, dazzling him—past, present, and future. Cain grasped the present, and amidst this chaotic perception, he finally gained a sliver of space.

……

"Why isn't Cain awake yet? It's so dangerous here, why isn't he awake?"

Dropping the rotten sword, Crystal rested Cain's head on her lap, and from there, the ground within a ten-meter radius was shattered into pieces.

The monsters from hell stopped surrounding them. Crystal didn't know why, but for safety's sake, she stayed put. After all, there were too many unknowns and too much danger here.

"Fortunately, these monsters haven't come any closer. They were yelling that everyone was coming to kill us, but now they're ignoring us. Could it be that they were intimidated by my domineering aura?" Crystal looked at her white gauntlets and was very satisfied with her new body.

"However, these monsters are neither ghosts nor demons, but why do I feel a sense of sorrow? I have never seen them in my inherited memories. Judging from the previous battles, they should have some kind of consciousness. What exactly are they...?"

Crystal sighed, looked at the desolate world of red and blue, and fell into thought.

The sound of something burning fiercely enveloped the world, and it was also burning the heart of the crystal. She felt a surge of anger and resentment within her, wanting to vent it. Although she was affected by the world, she could still control it, probably thanks to Kain's mental strength.

Countless deformed monsters slowly walked by, seemingly unaware of the situation at the crystal.

Putting aside her unhappiness, Crystal lowered her head again, her glowing eyes looking at Cain's sleeping face, recalling all the encounters she had with Cain before.

She used to hate Kain with a passion, but after spending time with him, she found that he was not a bad person. It was indeed hateful that he killed her, but as a beast dragon, she did not care much about life and death hatred. It was just a matter of the strong preying on the weak. In nature, death is the most merciful thing.

But under Cain's guidance, Crystal felt more gratitude towards him for letting her know that there were so many amazing things in the world, and that it wasn't just about eating and sleeping every day.

"No fight, no friendship." She uttered this phrase, drawing on Cain's teachings.

"Is he about to wake up?" Crystal suddenly noticed Cain's eyelids twitch and immediately focused her attention.

"Hoo..." Cain exhaled deeply and woke up.

His open eyes were even more profound, like the starry sky, concealing wisdom. He gazed at the red and blue sky, lost in thought.

"Hmm, what's poking me?" He felt like he was using something as a pillow, something hard.

"Oh, you're awake." A hoarse voice came from behind.

With my head tilted slightly upward, I saw a sacred golden-rimmed helmet come into view.

“It looks familiar.” Cain wasn’t startled; instead, he said calmly.

“Dawn, my magic armor? But this voice…?” he pondered.

"Crystal? What happened to you?!" Cain exclaimed in surprise and quickly sat up.

"It's all your fault. You defeated the Dark Night Noble, but there are still many monsters in this world, so you became engrossed in your trance. I was inexplicably squeezed out of the virtual and real space by you, and then unconsciously you pulled me to merge with the shattered demonic armor, and that's how it turned out," Crystal said simply.

"I see. But that's really amazing. Can magic armor be fused together?" Cain nodded.

He discovered that as he comprehended a trace of spatial power, his strength actually increased instead of decreased, rising to level 14. With the addition of the demonic armor, he would become a powerful being at the King level. Moreover, the golden energy within his body merged with the demonic armor, transforming him into the appearance of the Dawn Guardian.

“Look at this…” Cain examined the magic armor crystal, frowning as if deep in thought.

He felt he could still control the magic armor.

Raise your hand?

The thought flashed through his mind, and the crystal in front of him raised its hand.

"What happened? My hand just started moving by itself..." Crystal exclaimed in surprise.

lay down.

Take two steps.

forward.

backward.

……

After a series of experiments, Cain confirmed that although the crystal could use the magic armor, he had the main control and the highest priority. Moreover, the magic armor could be re-fused back into the body, and the distance it could detach from was ten meters with the body as the center. If it exceeded that distance, it would either fall apart or stop.

This is practically a stand-in...

Seeing Crystal collapsed on the ground, exhausted, Cain's expression was somewhat strange.

"It does resemble a Stand, except the damage doesn't affect me. It seems I'm practically a Stand user now. Should I uphold the Golden Spirit or carry out the Dark Will...?" Cain concluded.

"Well, it's an unexpected surprise. If used properly, it could be another trump card." Cain was delighted; he was very satisfied with the new changes to the magic armor.

“Hmm, this is…” At this moment, Cain’s gaze fell on a dark, strip-shaped object on the ground. It could be barely made out to be the shape of a sword, with jagged teeth marks on it.

"Sorry, I broke your sword," Crystal said, scratching her head.

Previously, in order to protect Cain, she used her sword to kill a large number of monsters. Flesh and bones, countless obstacles, more or less, would dull even the sharpest sword, especially since it was also tainted by some kind of poisonous blood.

“It’s okay, we still have our fists.” Cain smiled and raised his hand.

Looking at the devastated scene around him, Cain could imagine how Crystal had fought to protect him. He didn't blame her; weapons were just external things, and he could just make another one after he got out.

"By the way, there are still many unknown dangers here, so it's not advisable to stay any longer."

Then, Cain's expression turned serious. Hell was very different from what he had imagined. It was a desolate place with a harsh environment. The creatures of Hell could not communicate with each other and he could not find anything. So he could only go out first and see if he could find any information along the way.

“Let’s go!” Cain took a step forward, and the magic armor crystal behind him made the same movement.

With each step, he covered several meters, demonstrating his limited understanding of space.

Although the crystal attached to the demonic armor couldn't reveal its expression, its focused and gleaming eyes showed a serious demeanor.

And so, one man and one soul embarked on their journey to hell.
