My sister is Luna

Chapter 114 Unknown Fear

"Is this the origin of those demonic seeds filled with hatred?"

In the dilapidated city of Jinting, Mulan stood on a towering, crumbling city wall near the edge of darkness, gazing solemnly at the enormous black hole.

Centered around the royal palace, the vast city of Jinting occupies almost a quarter of its area.

The dark, empty space stares straight at the sky like an eye, from which the mournful howling of the wind can be heard from time to time.

This is not a man-made opening, nor is it caused by geological changes. It looks more like a mysterious passage or something similar to space.

Although there is no life in Jinting City now, it is deserted, silent, and completely a dead city, as long as that black hole still exists, Hua Mulan knows that danger is like a beast lurking in the shadows, not far away, and there is a deeper fear waiting for the Great Wall.

The black hole appeared harmless, but Mulan's keen intuition told her that it was untouchable. Even with her formidable strength, she felt a deep sense of fear, knowing that it concealed terrifying secrets. She frowned and fell into deep thought.

"Wow, this is the first time I've seen it up close like this. It feels so much bigger than when I've seen it from a distance before," Baili Xuance exclaimed in surprise, standing next to Hua Mulan.

He did not return to the Great Wall alone, nor did he wait in the distance; instead, he followed Mulan here.

Baili Xuance looked down at the pitch-black hole. Perhaps out of childlike innocence, he reached out and tried to grab at the air, but he grasped nothing. He hoped to grab something tangible, to pull something out of that black hole, to feel something real. So he tried to go further, one step if one wasn't enough, two steps, three steps...

However, Baili Xuance forgot that he was standing on the city wall with Hua Mulan. The city wall was only one meter wide, and he could only take three steps before there was nowhere to step. There was only emptiness in front of him. But he had no intention of stopping. He took a fourth step, and gravity pulled his body down. He was completely unaware of this, as if he were possessed. He looked like he wanted to walk into a black hole.

Just as Baili Xuance was about to fall off the city wall, Hua Mulan came to her senses, was startled, and was about to reach out and pull him back.

However, someone acted even faster than her.

"Hmph, you're such a worry. You think you can stay by my side looking like this?"

Behind Baili Xuance, cold words suddenly came from the void. Lanling King appeared, and an arm forcefully grabbed the back of his collar.

"Oh, what just happened to me, uh—"

Baili Xuance was startled awake. He was halfway through his sentence when he suddenly felt a pain in the back of his neck and fainted.

Lanling Wang chopped down with his hand, lifted the limp Baili Xuance, and placed him on the city wall. After glancing at the unconscious Baili Xuance, he walked to the edge of the city wall, standing five meters away from Hua Mulan. This was a distance that allowed him time to react to a sudden attack while still being able to talk to her.

Having already revealed his presence, there was no need for him to hide anymore. Lanling Wang pointed to the black hole and asked:

"Did you see anything, Great Wall Warrior?"

"Strange, very strange. This black hole seems to have a mysterious attraction for those with weak wills, like Baili Xuance, who unknowingly draws closer to it," Hua Mulan analyzed.

"And I always feel that this thing—is alive!"

"Perhaps it is watching us, and listening to our conversation," Lanling Wang said quietly.

"Who knows? We might even be within its attack range. We might all die here today." Mulan shrugged noncommittally, showing no fear whatsoever.

"Not long ago, this place was teeming with all sorts of demonic creatures." There was no point in speculating about this topic; it would only scare him unnecessarily. So, Lanling Wang changed the subject.

"But they all participated in the Great Wall War, and those demons with intense hatred in their eyes must have been born from it."

Hua Mulan accepted Lanling Wang's words, and her understanding of the black hole became clearer.

But the Dark Tyrant, which also has a hateful look in its eyes, was reportedly flown out of the King's Canyon. Could there be such a black hole there as well? But why is there only one? The King's Canyon shouldn't be this quiet. The troops stationed at the fortress must have noticed the situation and reported it. Is the Dark Tyrant merely a mutation?

Mulan began to have doubts.

"By the way, do you know where this black hole leads?" As if remembering something, Mulan looked at the black hole and asked Lanling Wang.

"I don't know, but it must be another world, whether cruel or beautiful," Lanling Wang said coldly.

"Is there a way to destroy it?" Mulan asked.

No, at least not now.

"Or there are other feasible methods, at least we can't let those with ulterior motives take advantage of it."

"nor."

"Never mind, but I feel more at ease with you watching over things," Mulan sighed.

“I never said I would watch over it for you. My goal has always been to seize the Protectorate and eliminate the obstacles from your Great Wall Guards.” After a moment of silence, Prince Lanling suddenly said.

"It's alright, it's alright, come on, we'll go easy on you as a way of repaying the favor you did us, but next time we'll be ruthless in capturing you," Mulan said, waving her hand dismissively.

As a long-time enemy, she understood Lanling Wang. This hell was like a third-party force. Given Lanling Wang's personality, he would never allow anyone or any force to interfere in his battle with the Great Wall, especially this "bomb" full of uncertainty. So she ignored Lanling Wang's words.

"There's no point in just watching from here. I'll take Baili Xuance and leave first."

Having gained a general understanding of the black hole, Mulan decided to leave. She mentioned Baili Xuance, said a few words, and then nimbly jumped off the city wall, gradually disappearing into the distance.

"hell……"

"What exactly does it refer to? Various legends contain tales about hell, but why is there no one that matches it?"

After Mulan left, Lanling Wang recalled the information he had accidentally obtained from the King of Jinting City, and murmured to himself:

"Many legendary hells are the afterlife, a place to collect souls and judge reincarnation, unlike the hells that spread death and wreak havoc on the human world. But this hell has many anomalies. What does this have to do with hating the Great Wall?" Lanling Wang stared intently into the black hole, his gaze seemingly trying to pierce through the endless darkness and uncover its secrets.

"What exactly is this so-called hell?"

"However, I will personally defeat the Great Wall Guards, seize the Protectorate, and fulfill my wish. So things like hell that shouldn't exist on the ground should stay underground, lest I can't find a place after I die."
